Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 761 The Thunder Guardian

"The Thunder Guardian? Who is that?" Damien asked with a curious expression.

"That is someone I have been planning to introduce you to. Come with me," Akira said as Damien and Mira followed along.

Damien wondered who this guardian person must be like for even Akira to have so much respect and reverence when talking about him.

He was surprised when she was leading him toward the underground, which he didn't even know existed. He expected only a basement, but it seemed as if there were entire floors beneath.

There were no teleportation formations of any sort to get down to this place, but there were a lot of doors that only Akira could open. This made him realize that this place was quite important and nobody else was allowed.

But why would such a powerful person be resting in such a…dark and creepy place? Or was it something ghouls were used to?

Finally, he came upon a large underground hall that led to only a very large cave-like opening. He didn't expect such a large cave to exist within this building. The walls were dimly lit up by the purple lights on the wall that seemed to be made from sparks of lightning. He was fascinated since this was the first time he saw such an application of lightning.

Who would have ever thought to use such a wild element as a source of light?

"This is it…Don't make any loud noise. She might be sleeping," Akira whispered, as if she was worried she might disturb someone inside the large cave.

'She? Oh…' Damien was a bit surprised to know that the Thunder Guardian was a female but still, why would they live here?

*Hssssss*

Damien suddenly heard a loud, bestial echo that sounded similar to a hiss made by some sort of large beast in slumber. But even this sound was enough to make anyone's hair stand on its ends.

"The Thunder Guardian is a beast?" Damien asked in a low voice as he saw a giant silhouette after entering the cave. He also saw Akira and Mira deeply bowing toward it, which made him feel like he should bow as well.

From the dim light inside the cave, he could make out dark purple scales on the body of this beast which looked shiny under the light. The length of its body measured at least hundreds of meters and was coiled up in layers, making him realize that this was a giant serpent. The sheer thickness of its body was enough to stack dozens of humans.

He could already imagine it being able to swallow entire buildings with ease and even destroy mountains by using its humongous tail.

It seemed to be in deep slumber with its eyes closed and continued to make sounds akin to a snore that echoed throughout the cave.

"It is not just any ordinary beast. But a direct descendant of the strongest Ancient Fiend and one of the strongest beings in our world who went by the name, Thunderborn. She carries the ancient bloodline of the hallowed Thunderborn, and even the great Purple Thunder Knight was said to have treated them with utmost admiration and respect. We respect the Thunder Guardian not only because of its strength but because it is one of the few remaining remnants of our creators. It wouldn't be wrong to say that we even worship her," Akira said with a solemn expression as she looked at the Thunder Guardian.

"So I am assuming she can take our form?" Damien asked.

"No…in that aspect, she is just like any other fiend. But it isn't surprising since she is truly a fiend, but her intelligence is no lesser than ours since she is the descendant of the almighty Thunderborn," Akira explained while Mira stood a few feet behind them since she didn't feel like she was worthy to stand that close to the guardian.

Damien unconsciously stepped forward to take a closer look at this powerful fiend, fascinated by its existence after hearing about its origins.

"Damien, don't get too close!" Akira was distracted by thinking about the past and was too late when she saw Damien walking towards it.

Damien was startled by her words, as he froze his steps. But suddenly, the Thunder Guardian opened its eyes which were a glowing dark purple sclera and eerie black slit-like pupils.

*HISSSS!*

It wildly hissed as it bared its ferocious silver fangs that were as big as a small tower, and other than the fangs, it also had razor-sharp teeth along the inner walls of its huge mouth whose sight could surely send chills over anyone's spine.

Even Damien was intimidated when it suddenly woke up and looked down at him as if looking down at an ant.

It was its petrifying aura that made Damien feel like he was being choked under its pressure and was unable to even move a finger. He could feel its fiery breath from its mouth, making him feel like he was standing near a thunderstorm.

But it seemed like the Thunder Guardian was angry upon seeing a stranger like him and swooped down to swallow him into its ferocious mouth.

"Silwi, no! He is one of us!" Akira suddenly appeared in front of Damien with her arms spread wide as if to shield him.

The Thunder Guardian immediately froze its movement the moment Akira got in front of Damien. Its fangs were barely just a few feet away from touching Damien when Akira got in front of him.

Damien felt beads of sweat trickling down his back before he realized it. He can't believe he was this close to becoming fiend food if not for his aunt's fast reaction to save him.

The Thunder Guardian kept staring at the two of them with its huge dark purple eyes before opening its fangs wide to let out a fierce growl as dark purple streaks of lightning manifested in its mouth.

*GRAAAAWRRR!!*

Damien had to shut his eyes close as the sheer force from just its growl was enough to make his feet slide back despite the fact that Akira was using her aura to prevent him from getting blasted away.

But after that, it simply lowered its head and went back to sleep like before. It was as if nothing had happened in the first place.

"It seems like the guardian of your own clan hates you," Luna chuckled as she placed her hand on her mouth.
