Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 67 The Strongest Native (2)

Despite fighting close to each other and without the use of any special means other than the Black Steel Spears they grasped tightly, the fighting efficiency and final results of their fights were completely different.

Jennie may not possess the worst stats but she was certainly the weakest in Liam's group. Her fighting proficiency was barely nonexistent. It was already a wonder that she was still alive. That was probably the only advantageous result of her fights. Jennie could survive and kill the Ordinary Shedim that would kill her otherwise, but that was already it.

Kian was different in that regard. He could ignore the ghastly looking monsters by considering the Shedim as his money-making tools. This enabled him to get over his unease and attack them with fast and smooth movements. With his Soultriat activated, he could defeat an Ordinary Shedim every two or three seconds. He was truly fast, which couldn't be underestimated, not even by Liam.

To make sure that he would not get surprise attacked from anywhere, Kian moved around while killing the Ordinary Shedim that came the closest to him, while swirling the Black Steel Spear around his body.

Kian's fighting proficiency had increased drastically. He could roughly gauge the movements of the Ordinary Shedim and how to get over the drawback of their numerical disadvantage while fighting hundreds of opponents while their number was actually in the single digits.

Kian's progress was exceptional, to put it simply. He would have never expected to be able to kill so many opponents in such a short time either. Interestingly enough, Kian could pretty much tell that he could not yet utilize 100% of his Soultrait and that he could become an even better combatant once he found the weapons and a fighting style that suited his Soultrait the most.

While Kian was fighting with his body's strength, Rex did the complete opposite. The most difficult for Rex was to make sure that he would never use his entire Arcane Power. He knew that he might need some Arcane Power if something unexpected were to happen.

He really didn't look forward to dying, so he stashed some Arcane Power for emergencies. His fighting efficiency was higher than Kian's, though not by much. On the other hand, Felicia was slowly gaining momentum. She was trying to wreak havoc and obliterate the lesser demons, and it worked out decently well. Her combat prowess was not yet on par with Olivia but it was only a matter of time before the reckless and destructive fighting style of Felicia would be honed and perfected enough to overpower Olivia.

Olivia, meanwhile, was not focused on comparing herself with anyone. On the contrary, she focused on herself and tried to create a fighting style that required little movements with exceptional efficiency.

Her subtle movements were enough to decapitate an Ordinary Shedim, and it was not too difficult for her to evade the attacks of the Elite Shedim, drain their power by inflicting small injuries all over their vital spots before delivering the final blow.

Olivia retained her energy while defeating her opponents, allowing her to fight much longer than anyone else. She was not struggling at all while maintaining a frightening consistency in her movements.

However, even then, there was someone with an even higher fighting efficiency than Olivia. It was only obvious that Liam was much stronger than the rest but there was a native amongst his ducklings who was quite good. Ludwig, the frail young student, who had actually forgotten his fellow classmates in the chaos of the battlefield, was actually faster and even more consistent in killing the lesser demons.

Ludwig seemed like a mix between a Berserker and a mastermind. He gained even more momentum in the battle against the Shedim than anyone else. Using the knowledge he had gathered from his own analysis and the information Liam shared with all the natives willingly, he gained tremendous strength.

His stats had increased as well, but the difference was not worth mentioning. The increment in his stats was not enough to push him to the top. Rather than his stats, it was his tactical mindset that allowed him to officially become the strongest native in the group.

Ludwig could accurately predict the Shedim's next move according to the analysis he had made. And without wasting a moment, he immediately sliced through the air with his halbert, slashing through several ordinary Shedim at once before backing out. He retreated, readjusted his position, and waited for the best opportunity to attack once again.

Repeating the process of attacking, retreating, adjusting, and aiming for the opportunity to attack once again, Ludwig killed close to 150 Ordinary Shedim in five minutes.

And he didn't simply focus on killing Ordinary Shedim. Ludwig killed two Mutant Elite Shedim and almost ten Elite Shedim in these five minutes as well!

Five minutes…That was what it took to defeat the small army of Shedim. As for the final result of everyone's hard effort, Liam was ranked at the top, followed by Ludwig, and Olivia, both of whom killed close to or more than 150 Shedim.

So far, Felicia had killed less than a hundred Shedim which was a bit less than the Shedim Rex had finished off, but she had focused on the Elite Shedim because they were the most exciting to kill.

As for the last two spots, Kian killed roughly 60 Ordinary Shedim and four Elite Shedim, while Jennie killed only 10 Ordinary Shedim in total.

Liam didn't really care who killed how many opponents but he was quite astonished by Ludwig's rapid progress. He was pretty sure that his advice had been helpful to a certain extent. However, Liam was also not delusional enough to think that his advice was enough to boost Ludwig's progress so drastically!

'His control of Arcane Power is too terrifying for him to be a native human. Who the hell is that smart ass?' Liam wondered while seeing the remnants of Arcane Power that were released from Ludwig's halbert.

He hadn't seen Ludwig fighting but it was quite obvious that the young smartass had yet to create his own fighting style. Ludwig was currently just doing what his instincts told him. That was at least the case when it came to his decision of how to attack and how to move while attacking.

As for everything else, Ludwig had visualized each of his encounters with the Shedim in his mind before they actually occurred.

That was definitely not normal!
