Chapter 114 That's Interesting!
Liam was not exactly interested in the girls' fight. There might be a valid reason for their fight, but he didn't think that it was too important.
It was probably something that was trivial, otherwise, they wouldn't be just shouting at each other. Crossbow bolts would be flying through the air and the bloodthirsting weapons would be quenched by the blood of their opponents if the situation truly warranted his attention.
Thus, he stepped forward, ignoring their shouts.
"You cowardly woman! You're just hiding behind your prince, sucking up to him! You lost your dignity and honor as a woman!"
'Damn. Maybe this is a little bit more interesting than expected…'
Liam halted in his tracks and watched the woman who had just shouted at Jennie. Jennie was trembling in rage, biting on her lower lip while being, unable to say anything.
She was just having a mid-life crisis and the women they had rescued started to insult her all of a sudden.
"I think you're mistaking something. You're just jealous that we encountered Liam first and that we were allowed to travel with him. Jennie survived because she fought with all her might. She is using her power and NOT her body to be of use to Liam. If you don't like it here, fuck off!
Olivia was nice enough to take responsibility of you all even though Liam would have left you behind in the forest. Is that how you repay your gratitude? If that's the case, you're nothing but a worthless bitch that should have never been saved in the first place!" Felicia thundered loudly.
There was no trace of her bubbly attitude in her voice or demeanor. Her eyes were burning fiercely and she was ready to beat the shit out of those who were daring enough to say anything against Jennie. Olivia had risked her life and begged him to be let in their small group, and she had nearly died just because one of the frightened women shot a crossbow bolt at him. Even if it was an accident, Liam had warned them clearly enough.
If not for Liam's kindness and good mood at that time, Olivia would have been killed alongside the frightened woman!
Felicia felt no mercy for them, no matter what they thought about her, or Jennie!
"Are you just ignorant or blatantly stupid? This girl is the most spoiled woman I've encountered since the world changed. Most of us faced the worst treatment for the past two weeks. Our families were killed in front of us, and our friends, sisters…even our mothers were violated right in front of us…even some of us couldn't escape this fate…Yet, you want us to stay quiet, or maybe even feel pity for this woman, who cries for the death of the Dwarves, who would have violated us over and over again, who killed our last friends…who would have done the worst possible to not just us but many more women?!" Another woman shouted out loud, while angry tears spilled out of her eyes.
She was not able to hold back anymore. Too many things had happened in the last two weeks and the memories resurfaced, forcing her to recall every single thing that had happened to her and the people around her.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"
The tension between the two groups of women kept increasing. Sparks seemed to erupt between them and it made Liam wonder to what degree the situation would further escalate.
He was slightly interested in Olivia's response and the actions of the women in return.
'Jennie is weak, powerless, and unable to fend for herself, but she is still valuable as a golden goose. Looks like they have yet to understand that combat power is not everything.' Liam thought.
Many races would hire Jennie for an exorbitant price if she were to publicize her Soultrait. She could become a professional raider, who doesn't have to fight. Having her by your side would mean that any dungeon conquest and tower raid, and exploration of ruins of ancient civilizations would earn you a vast fortune.
That was given, and something many people would happily empty their pockets for. Jennie might not like death and murder but she didn't have to. As long as she didn't obstruct anyone's way, it was more than enough to be a Treasure Hunter with the ability to find ANY treasure in the special constructions and structures of the Arcane Apocalypse.
Liam figured that many Natives had yet to understand how valuable some Soultraits were, even if they were not good for combat purposes. This made it even more intriguing to listen to Olivia's response.
She was furious and regretted having taken responsibility for these women.
"No, we don't expect anything from you…except to shut your mouth and act accordingly. We can abandon you right here and right now. Don't you think you should value your own survival more than the anger you feel toward someone else? If that's not the case, keep saying what's on your mind, and leave this group.
You can try to fend for yourself and see where you will end up. Though, I am pretty sure that you will die before the sun goes down!"
Her voice was cold, but her expression was even colder. Every single word she just said was the harsh, bitter truth.
There was no need for anyone to understand their emotions, let alone to accept them.
However, if they wanted to survive, they better keep their mouths shut, otherwise, they would either be killed or abandoned.
Both ways would end up with their inevitable death. After all, they were several kilometers away from the closest city, and it was not as if the cities were secure places either.
There were a few women who had something to say, but a loud clasp that had been empowered and amplified with some Arcane Power pulled everyone's attention over to Liam.
Derek was standing behind Liam, mumbling something in an attempt to solve the situation peacefully.
However, Liam's eyes were ice-cold as the galaxies sealed within the royal purple eyes awoke.
"I think that's enough!"
