Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 109 Get Up!

"Do you have a death wish, bastard?"

Liam's cold voice rang in the ears of the man who had just lost his good arm. He stared at Liam with widened eyes as he was desperately trying to breathe.

However, Liam strangled the man with too much force, causing him to stagger back and lose his balance. His artery was being choked, cutting off the blood supply, after all.

Liam continued to stare coldly at the one-armed man before he mercilessly flung him to the side.

"If you scream out like a little baby just once more, I will break your neck to make you shut your mouth!"

The one-armed man stared dazedly at Liam, rubbing his neck with his left hand. He rubbed lightly across the purple bruise and felt a throbbing pain as he gulped nervously.

"Was that really necessary?" Olivia asked as she noticed that the tension within the group began to escalate. Felicia and Jennie didn't really mind his attitude because they could tell that there was a deeper meaning behind his words. However, the other women stared at him in terror.

They had just lost their loved ones, and it looked like Liam wouldn't hesitate to kill them either.

Was it really safe to travel with someone like him?

"Should we really join them…can we even trust him?" One of the women mumbled quietly to the others who warily eyed Liam.

"Maybe he bewitched the three girls. Do you think we can overwhelm him and rescue them?" Another one asked.

"We have ten crossbows. If we fire them at once, he will definitely die. He won't be able to evade all of them!"

"But he is not human. Just look at him. Do you really think he will die just like that?"

While the eight women whom he had rescued from the first hunting group of the Silverheart Dwarves were gossiping with each other, the six women from the camp were bawling their eyes out. Two were trying to tend to the wounds of the one-armed man.

He was still bleeding severely.

It was doubtful whether he would survive the night or not.

If the man died, there would only be women around Liam, and the traumatized and frightened women could only imagine the worst happening to them while staying around Liam.

They subconsciously shuddered at the thought of Liam tearing their clothes apart and taking them by force.

Olivia and the others could hear their mumbling. It was loud enough for Liam to hear their worries as well.

However, Liam just smiled in response.

"Be thankful to me for not taking his life. His loud screams probably attracted the attention of the monsters in the surroundings. I don't really feel like protecting 14 oblivious and frightened women, and a one-armed man while trying to obliterate the cavern village of the Silverheart Dwarves."

Without further ado, Liam turned to Felicia, who pointed back in the direction of the cavern village.

"They have yet to find out about the death of their hunting groups."

Liam nodded his head and walked in the direction Felicia pointed. He walked past the frightened woman who had nearly decorated his head with a crossbow bolt and patted her head once, a little rough at that, disheveling her hair.

"I saw where you aimed at. Don't shoot anywhere near your allies next time," Liam said, "Your aim sucks."

The frightened woman was dreading that Liam would pierce his claws through her throat so she was shocked when she felt the rough hand patting her head. Shivers ran down her spine and her legs nearly gave in due to the pressure she felt all of a sudden, and she forgot to breathe for a few seconds.

Liam had already disappeared in the trees, while Felicia and Jennie were about to charge behind him when they noticed that Olivia had not moved forward.

"Are you not coming?" Felicia asked her friend. Olivia looked at the crying women who were holding onto the dead bodies of the two men. The one-armed man was trying to get up from the ground but he was too weak. Losing his arm drained all his energy, and a considerable amount of his will to continue living as well.

All of a sudden, a vial flew across the destroyed camp, hitting the young man at the side of his head.

The vial landed on the ground, glimmering with blazing red content.

Everyone's eyes turned back to the forest where Liam had disappeared.

"You will have to learn how to fight with only one arm if you don't have a long-range attack-type Soultrait. If your Soultrait is shit for combat, you have to figure out what to do to make up for it. Learn, adapt, and overcome your shortcomings, if you don't want to die.

There should be people out there who like you and who don't want you to give up like that. If you have just one person you want to see, or even protect from the horrors that will inevitably appear in front of everyone, you will have to get your act together and fight for your survival even if your body and soul wish to give up!"

It was Liam, who said this and his voice echoed through their minds, making them feel numb.

He was also the one who threw the vial at him, though he was not certain why exactly he felt the need to do so.

There was nothing uncommon with losing an arm or a leg. Liam had actually lost one of his arms twice. Regrowing it was a pain in the ass because it was expensive and a new arm was nothing like the old and familiar arm. However, it was possible to regrow his arm.

Liam already figured out how expensive it would be as well.

Regrowing limbs cost 50,000 Arcanium if the person in question hadn't created their second Arcane Circle yet. Regrowing an arm compatible with the refinement of two Arcane Circles was a little bit more complicated and a lot more expensive.

But that was not something they had to be bothered about.

"Either fight and give it your all so that you can die without regrets, or give up right here and right now. Don't be a delusional fool!" Liam said loud and clear, while nearly adding a few words that caused him to feel like punching himself.

'Don't be like me.'
