Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 121 Jonathan

Arthur kept waiting in the living room while Nova never came out of her bedroom.

Several hours later, Arthur finally saw someone coming, a man who was old enough to be called an old man. Maybe he's in his 60s. Even his hair was thinning.

He was dressed formally, carrying a work suitcase and a plastic bag that appeared to contain food.

As he got closer to his house, he knit his brows. Maybe because he felt the presence of a man in the house with his daughter.

Although sometimes his daughter brought friends home to study together, there were always several of them, but this time there was only one.

As a father, there was no way he wouldn't think it strange.

He quickened his pace to enter the house.

As soon as he opened the door, he found a young man sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, reading a book.

'I never saw him,' he thought.

What made him more surprised was of course Arthur's appearance. He is above average handsome plus has an aura that he thinks is very deep.

A question popped up in his mind; 'does my daughter have a special relationship with this young man?'

Of course, sometimes he wondered what his daughter's husband would be like, but a man like Arthur exceeded his expectations.

Although he thought his daughter was also very beautiful, but the girl really wasn't good at dressing and had a poor sense of fashion.

At the same time, Nova came out of her bedroom, still wearing the same clothes except that her hair was loose.

With a different hairstyle, she naturally gives off a different impression even though she still wears glasses. At least the shape of her face looked sharper.

Only, she was nervous and worried, thinking about how to explain Arthur to her father.

Arthur, on the other hand, put down the book in his hand before standing up.

His eyes scanned Nova's father more thoroughly. After seeing Nova's power, he began to be able to feel the power of other werewolves, so he immediately got an estimate of how strong the old man was.

Surprisingly enough, he was actually one level weaker than Nova.

Jonathan is the old man's name.

When he saw how Arthur was looking at him, he became doubtful because the way he was looking at him was almost like he wasn't considering who he was.

He was not only a much older man than hom, but also a professor. The latter earned him respect wherever he was.

Before he could say anything Arthur spoke first. "I wanted to ask you because I thought I could get more information from you."

"Ask about what?" Jonathan asked back. He was displeased by Arthur's impoliteness, but right now he had to respond to his words first.

Of course, he was a professor after all, so when Arthur spoke of information, he didn't feel any sort of suspicion. This is practically something that other people often ask him.

However, Arthur's next words made him jump backwards. "I want to know more about the werewolf clan. -- I mean, I don't have any bad intentions, I just want to know anything from the werewolf clan that can let me know the past in more detail, like those independent dimensions."

"W-who are you?" asked the old man with a battle-ready posture after he jumped up.

He looked Arthur from head to toe and then noticed his daughter was still standing at the side without making any movement.

After remembering that this young man was brought in by his daughter, he calmed down a bit.

"Who's he?" he asked Nova because he thought Arthur wasn't the type to easily talk about himself.

"Father, he is Carla's cousin," Nova replied after she took a deep breath. "Today I found out he is a magus and since he is stronger than me, I couldn't do anything about it when he followed me here."

"What?" Jonathan looked like he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

He knew Carla because she had been here before and knew who her mother was.

So far, he only knew that they were an ordinary mortal family, why would there suddenly be a magus.

His gaze shifted to Arthur again. His daughter had lost to him, not to mention him, so any action was useless.

"Ahh, well, please sit down again," he said, showing a slightly forced friendly smile. It was clear that he was a rational man. Maybe it was because Arthur's background was pretty clear as well, not some random youth that had come from nowhere.

Arthur sat down again. Since he was being friendly to him, he wasn't trying to do anything weird.

Then, the old man sat across from Arthur.

"Nova, since he is our guest, why haven't you prepared a drink yet," he said to his daughter.

The latter couldn't refuse her father's order, so she went to the kitchen.

"You can be stronger than my daughter, have you been practicing magic for a long time?" he asked Arthur.

Perhaps he considered his daughter to be superior to the others, so he was astonished to find someone her age who was stronger than her.

Arthur calmly replied, "only a few days!"

Unfortunately, that is indeed the truth.

He ignored Jonathan's surprise. Looking into his eyes, he said, "I want information."

"Actually I've rarely studied spiritual things, so what you get from me might not be that significant, not much different from what you get from Nova. All I can say is about the werewolves, something that isn't a secret to those who know us."

Arthur moved his finger slightly to the side when he heard his words. He didn't speak, just waited for her to continue.

"Firstly, if you attend our clan meeting, maybe you can get more information, such as when did the people from those dimensions appear again. There, there are some people who know things. I mean, they are people who have lived for a very long time, several centuries. Even if no one knows where they live, they will always come to the meeting."

"Oh, so when is the meeting? Are outsiders allowed in?" Arthur couldn't help but be interested in the creatures that had lived that long because none of them were weak.

"Anyone is welcome as long as they are willing to contribute to protecting the earth. As for the schedule, it hasn't been determined yet, but what is certain is this year," Jonathan replied

"I see, I'll come later!" Arthur nodded.

"Then what else do you know?"

Right after he asked that, Nova came back from the kitchen, carrying a tray with two cups filled with green tea.

She placed the tray on the table then took one cup and placed it in front of Arthur.

"Please drink," she said in a low voice before stepping back.

For a moment, her eyes glanced at Arthur's too calm face despite being in front of her father.
