Chapter 118 Wolf
Rose's location is not far from the police station.
There is a narrow alley between two old buildings with lots of trash cans on the sides. It was a place with little sunlight so some of the lights were on.
Arthur quickly narrowed his eyes as he already smelled blood mixed with the wolf's saliva.
Entering a narrower alley, he soon found Rose, sitting against a trash can and holding her bleeding chest.
Seeing Arthur, she forcefully opened her mouth, "b-boss, be careful!"
Arthur glanced to his right right after Rose spoke.
A black wolf suddenly lunged at him from behind the trash. It had an enormous size, almost as big as a tiger with rows of thorn-like teeth.
As it got closer to Arthur, it opened its mouth which looked like it could swallow his head straight away.
Arthur who knew the wolf's weakness created flames in his hand, causing the wolf's eyes to tremble and widen while its movements halted slightly.
As soon as the flames appeared, he sent his fist towards the wolf's face.
BANG!
Arthur's seemingly relaxed punch sent the wolf flying head-on, hitting the trash can until it shattered.
Arthur paid no heed to the wolf, his eyes fixed on a window canopy where a young woman stood.
She wore a black shirt and skirt that came just below her knees while her hair was pulled back in two plaited braids, a nerdy look except that she didn't wear glasses.
Of course, she was Nova, the woman who had just confused Arthur.
He looked into the woman's eyes, which, surprisingly enough, were purple like the moon in fantasy.
They were calm and cold, looking at Arthur like they were probing him.
Looking at her now, there's no way you'd compare her to the Nova at school. She may still have the appearance of a nerd, but the aura of that she is someone who excels is too obvious.
Despite being shocked, Arthur calmed down pretty quickly.
"Surprisingly enough, I looked everywhere for spiritual presences, but apparently there was one in the same school as me. It's just, I'm not sure about your type, human or wolf, or are you a werewolf?"
Arthur said that because he felt the wolf aura from Nova.
In the Sky World, he had never actually encountered a race called Werewolves, but there were several races that bore a resemblance to their description. They only differed in their beast form.
Overall, they weren't magi or warriors, their development related to their bloodline.
In terms of race, there is often debate whether they are humans or demon beasts.
The problem was, demon beasts that were similar to their beast forms usually bowed down to them. Like the current Nova, where she is accompanied by three wolves.
Besides the one that had attacked Arthur, there were two more watching from afar.
Right after Arthur spoke, Nova jumped, landing about three meters in front of him.
"Who are you?" asked the woman while looking at him.
"That's also a question I wanted to ask, but considering we've never had a conflict before, I wonder why you attacked my people?" Arthur looked at Rose who was in an injured state as he answered.
"That's her punishment for attacking humans with her powers," Nova answered.
"Oh, who made such a rule?" Arthur seemed to be even more interested.
"Our ancestors, we will hunt down and punish any spiritual power possessors who act as they please in this world."
"And who are your ancestors?"
The question made Nova's mouth shut tightly again, looking like she didn't know what to answer.
"It seems you don't know either," Arthur said.
According to his guesses, there might be a note with high magical power in Nova's family, and they did what the note told them to do.
Of course, that's something interesting in terms of intent, motive, and purpose.
Arthur thought about the writer of the golden papers, was there a connection between them?
If he wanted answers, he thought he should subdue this woman first because he knew dealing with fellow spiritual beings would be a long-winded affair.
While Nova was still staring at him, he made a move, appearing in front of her in an instant that took her by surprise.
His hand moved quickly, hitting her stomach.
"Ohh..." The woman coughed as her body was pushed back two meters. Her face immediately became angry, she signaled to her wolves.
Arthur glanced at them, raised his hand up and created an even bigger fireball. It then splits into three fireballs but each has the same size as the original.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Each of them moved towards each of the wolves, something that caused Nova to frown.
"You are quite strong, but you are still not my opponent" Arthur said before moving towards her again.
By his estimation, she was at least on par with a third stage knight.
Nova jumped backwards to keep Arthur's distance. When she landed on the ground, the nails on her fingers suddenly lengthened and turned a deep black color so they looked like iron.
Whoosh!
The woman lunged at Arthur with a wolf-like footwork while slashing her long nails at him.
Arthur responded by pointing his hand forward, he muttered under his breath before a stone shield-shaped appeared in front of him.
Clang!
The long nails hit the stone, which immediately bounced back causing Nova's body to shake.
Her mouth was slightly open, showing that she was surprised.
Fire then rock, as someone who understood enough the concept of magic, she knew it was something preposterous unless the magus was such a genius that he had one fire-compatible Spiritual Core and one rock-matched Spiritual Core. In other words, having two Spiritual Cores at once.
Although she knew that there were Spiritual Cores compatible with fire and stone, she didn't think they could still be found on earth today. Plus, how could the spell to create such a Spiritual Core be easy to master.
Whoosh!
Arthur appeared beside Nova, took her hand before going behind her and then shoved her shoulder to knock her down.
As soon as she fell, he locked her hands while pressing against her back.
"What are you doing?" she asked with narrowed eyes.
She actually didn't lose her cool too much. Maybe she didn't have any hostile intentions towards Arthur in the first place. What she did to Rose was only because she broke the law.
Since Arthur had also spoken previously, she thought she could talk to him to share information.
However, this man suddenly attacked her.
"First you need to know that you are weaker than me," replied Arthur. "And you lost, so obey me if you don't want to suffer!"
