Chapter 16
Chu Xiang got into the car and placed all the books in the passenger seat. Then, she replaced her shoes with a pair of red flats, put on her sunglasses, and drove off. People were still the photos they had taken of her onto the school forum; many were discussing the incident that had happened today. Disputes between handsome men and beautiful women were always more likely to attract other people’s attention. This was even more so the case since one of the members that were involved was the campus idol, who came from an extremely wealthy family. It was evitable that people would gossip ceaselessly about this matter. Even so, they never expected Chu Xiang to be so cool!
Chu Xiang didn’t know, but the incident earlier had caused her to gain quite a few fans.
Chu Xiang drove the car straight to the company. After she parked the car in the underground parking lot, she took the elevator directly to the top floor of the building. The secretary smiled and greeted her as soon as she entered the office, “Miss Chu, did class end?”
Chu Xiang nodded her head and said, “You can call me Chu Xiang in the future. You don’t need to give me special treatment when I work in the company.”
“Okay, Chu Xiang. Director Fang is in a meeting right now, and the meeting will probably end in about half an hour.”
“Okay, I understand. Thank you.” Chu Xiang knew that it was impossible for the employees to treat her as an ordinary person. This was normal, so she didn’t mind. She merely wanted everyone to get along and hoped that they wouldn’t treat her like a young lady that didn’t know how to do anything. She still needed to learn from them and ask them for help in the future.
Chu Xiang had her own desk in Fang Qing’s office. The desk was placed there under Fang Qing’s orders. It was large and comfortable. She stashed away the books she borrowed from the library and began to search through the company’s development history on the computer. She needed to learn about the details of the development history between the Chu and the Fang company. Chu Xiang wanted to know how many projects they collaborated on from the creation of the companies to the time of the merger. After that, she will be able to understand the specific operation of each project by reading through the information on each corresponding project.
She had a strong resolve and didn’t feel tired at all while going through all the material. She was a quick reader and was able to clearly remember the key points in each project. Chu Xiang didn’t even need to take any notes since she was able to remember everything.
Fang Qing returned to her office with Chu Dongqi following behind her after the business meeting ended. The two were still discussing the new project when they entered Fang Qing’s office. They smiled when they saw Chu Xiang in the office and quickly walked over to see what she was doing.
Chu Dongqi glanced at the information on her screen, then he smiled and asked, “Isn’t it boring, going through all these reports?”
Chu Xiang shook her head and said, “It’s not boring; instead, I think it’s fascinating. I’m able to read through the shrewd yet strategic decisions that grandpa and grandma made. Mom and dad, did the business meeting end already? The two of you should sit down and rest while I go make tea for you.”
Fang Qing stopped her, “There’s no need for you to do that. The secretary can do it.”
“I’m making tea for you out of love, so wait for me.” Chu Xiang made them sit down on the sofa. She walked over to the secretary and took over the task of brewing the tea.
The original owner of the body had learned the art of tea brewing, flower arranging, painting, and calligraphy because she was interested in these things. However, she never had the opportunity to display her skills to other people, so naturally, no one knew how good or how bad she was. Chu Xiang had lived in the cultivation realm for a long time, so she didn’t know how her skills compared to others. But she knew that no one in this world can compete and win against her tea brewing skills.
She brewed two cups of tea that will help her parents relieve their fatigue and brewed herself a cup of milk tea. After everything was ready, she brought everything back to the office. When she was about to enter the office, she overheard Chu Dongqi talking to Fang Qing, “I will be leaving tomorrow on a business trip to discuss with potential collaborators about an overseas project. I will return in about three days, so I will leave the matter regarding the Xiao Family to you.”
Fang Qing nodded, “I will meet Xiao Han and discuss the specific arrangements regarding the collaboration. In the past, we have only contacted the Ye Family when it came to collaborations, so now, it’s time for us to make a change. We need to do everything step by step, so we won’t make mistakes.”
Chu Xiang entered the room and handed them the tea. She asked, “Mom, can I attend the meeting with you? I have never attended an actual business meeting before. I want to have this chance to learn from you.”
