Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 272: Enchantments

The guard was already somewhat displeased by these poor people, yet they dared to be displeased with him.

Naturally, he was going to teach these people a small lesson.

Did they really think he cared much about their 50 silver coins?

Just Xu Feng alone in his generosity and behavior was superior to this bunch.

Not only was the former polite and extremely wealthy, but he was also a noble. His one word could cause immense trouble for him, but he didn't do any of that.

Hence, he didn't dare to slight Carmen in any way even though it was about time for him to get off the job.

With that in mind, the guard subsequently went to the Teleportation Hall, clearly ready to change shifts with another guard.

As for the players who had received the shockwaves, they were stupefied on the scene.

"Fuck, I got a debuff status." One of them cursed aloud when he checked his status.

"That guard is a lunatic!" Another one exclaimed.

"Shush, do you want to get killed?"

They were still in the town, and these guards had every right to kill any troublemakers without consequences.

Thus, these players could only begrudgingly accept their fate and report the information they obtained to the guild. At the same time, they hoped to be remunerated for the price of the bribing fee.

While this incident occurred, Carmen remained oblivious to the situation as she promptly arrived at the Vanguard Hotel.

Seeing the magnificent hotel, Carmen was dazzled on the spot.

"What a beautiful hotel." She mumbled, noticing the exterior design to be extremely fancy. Occasionally, she would also see numerous NPCs walking in and out of the hotel.

However, these NPCs seemed weird as they looked a bit frantic, almost as if they were going against time. Their movements were fast, with a few of them even creating a blurred image.

"Just what are they in a rush for?" Confused, Carmen was unable to comprehend their actions. Had it not been for her swift decision to move to the side, she would have been bumped at least 7 times by these NPCs.

At this point, everyone knows that NPCs are not to be messed with, and they must tread carefully when encountering them. This was especially true when the NPCs had a noble ranking.

Sometime later, amidst her confusion, Xu Feng questioned, "Why didn't you come inside if you had arrived already?"

"Huh?" Startled, Carmen didn't realize when he appeared in front of her. "My bad, I was too distracted by the NPCs."

"Ah, you mean them." Xu Feng chuckled softly and proceeded to explain the situation. "These NPCs are all preparing themselves for the competition being held in Paradise Plains soon. Hence, they are leaving to gather materials."

"Gather materials?"

Carmen didn't quite understand, given gathering materials were going to the outskirts of the city. Or at least that was her thought process.

Seeing her somewhat dazed and confused expression, Xu Feng merely chuckled, not bothering to explain. After all, these NPCs were now rushing to a newly opened blacksmith shop by him, and receiving the items crafted by them.

As for why these blacksmiths didn't attempt to join the competition for the Paradise Plains. The answer was fairly simple.

They were poor and broke as hell. Additionally, they didn't have the connection to receive any recommendation to receive a participation slot.

The only reason why he was able to get one was due to three factors: wealth, status, and vouches by the Adventure Association.

Sometime later, Xu Feng brought Carmen to his blacksmith shop.

Upon arriving, the blacksmiths who were hammering on an anvil, stopped their work temporarily, stood up, and greeted Xu Feng. At the end of the day, they were hired by Xu Feng, so respect must be given.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng merely waved his hand and took out a Tier 1 Stamina Gemstone.

"Help me equip this for my companion here." Xu Feng instructed. "And give her additional enchantment on the equipment she's wearing."

"Wait a minute," Carmen finally snapped out of her daze and glanced at Xu Feng. "Enchantments are expensive and it's not worth the trouble."

"Listen, Carmen, when I say something that is beneficial to you. Just calmly accept it with a silent gratitude and no more rejection." Xu Feng adjusted his glasses and warned kindly.

"But—"

"Ahem, we can argue all day and waste more time."

"..."

With a deep sigh, Carmen finally gave in and no longer rejected his goodwill.

One thing she knew about him: he was not one to talk big without any confidence.

Since he said it, then surely they would be wasting a lot of time arguing here back and forth.

"Um boss, so do we begin the enchantment now?" One of the Apprentice level blacksmiths asked, seemingly unsure of what to do. With a single glance, anyone could tell their relationship was quite amiable and intimate.

Xu Feng nodded his head and turned to Carmen.

As all eyes were on her, Carmen was having mixed feelings. In a sense, she was being forced to do something, but it was beneficial to her.

She didn't even know what to feel. Nevertheless, she still handed the items over to the blacksmith, who promptly went to work.

The sooner he finished, the faster he could resume his own forge and study.

After all, Xu Feng as a boss was rather generous. Aside from the required crafting item quota, they were free to use the resources and improve their Profession.

"By the way Feng, I didn't know if it's the correct thing to do but I told the guard at Riverwood Town to not erase my data." Carmen suddenly recalled something and explained her actions.

"Oh?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow, clearly curious to hear her thoughts further.

A bittersweet smile appeared on her face. "You probably wanted to advertise the city so that others would join here. It would be even better if the Reaver Guild came here because curious and intrigued players would follow up to watch the show."
