Chapter 27: Compensate
Chapter 27: Compensate
While the woman was flustered and questioned her attractiveness, Xu Feng finished fixing his clothes.
He then looked at her with a stoic expression, "Anyway, so how are you going to pay me. Is it through cash or eCash?"
"Ah?" The woman raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised by the sudden demand.
"What's the matter? Are you trying to renege on your words now that the storm has passed?" Suspicious, Xu Feng wondered if he had just been scammed by her.
It was a verbal agreement after all, and no contract was signed.
Thus, even if the woman wanted to renege on her words, there was not much he could do about it aside from blaming his bad luck.
"N-No, that's not what I mean." Panicked, the woman hurriedly shook her head.
"I don't have much cash on hand and as for eCash...." She explained, albeit stalling a bit in her last few words as her face gradually turned more and more red.
At the same time, she was hoping that the man in front of her was clever enough to understand her hint to save her the embarrassment of finishing the sentence.
"Sigh, I should have known." Xu Feng facepalmed as he instantly understood the implied meaning.
Carrying a large chunk of cash was naturally out of the question, so it made sense that the woman didn't have much cash on her. As for eCash, it was even more obvious with her behavior.
Since she was clearly running away and avoiding some kind of people, making a transaction with eCash was equivalent to exposing her location to them. Therefore, she can't use this method temporarily unless she wants to be spotted.
"I wasn't lying about compensating you," the woman exclaimed, afraid he might mistake her as a scammer or someone who used others without repaying.
"It's fine, you can just go your own way. I've wasted enough time." Xu Feng fixed his glasses and said, wanting to escape from this nuisance woman.
He should have known that being paid 10,000 dollars for such a trivial matter was too good to be true.
He shall simply let this be a lesson and refrain from making the same mistake again— not that he expects another dumb cliche scene like this to occur. If it truly occurred again, then he might really need to have his fortune read.
Just as Xu Feng was ready to leave, the woman suddenly extended her hand and held onto his wrist. "Wait, what is your name? I said I will pay you, and I will."
Xu Feng held a deadpan expression while wanting to move away. Yet her grip seemed too strong and he was unwilling to let his clothes get any more damage.
Sighing softly, he said, "Let go of me first."
Although a bit suspicious, the woman nodded her head and slowly released her grips. Meanwhile, Xu Feng used this time to utter a few words.
"That's my online payment system, and if you're sincere then you would remember to send the money in there. Otherwise, just do me a favor and never come to my sight again." He explained and promptly headed upstairs, leaving the woman in a complete daze.
It was only after a few minutes had gone by did the woman memorize the information and realized Xu Feng's latter sentence.
"Never come to his sight again? He really finds me a nuisance?" The woman was speechless.
"Tsk, just you wait till I resolve my situation first and I send the money to shut your mouth. I refuse to fall into your tricks and attempt to search for you." She clicked her tongue, refusing to accept the reality that someone really wanted nothing to do with her, especially with her graceful and beautiful appearance.
Women are quite difficult to interact with sometimes.
When you actively chase after them or pay more attention to them, then they will find you annoying.
However, when you actively avoid them, then they would believe you are just trying to play hard to get.
As for the thoughts of actually not being interested in them— that would never happen. They are too confident in themselves, similar to how men usually pride themselves as strong and muscular and refuse to admit defeat.
And while the woman was lost in her own thoughts, Xu Feng himself had finally gone upstairs through an escalator, searching for stores.
'What a waste of time. I can't fathom why anyone would enjoy those kinds of cliche scenes.' He was annoyed and wished to redo his choices if there was ever a chance.
Instead of assisting the woman, he would have pushed her out and dashed away. Not helping either party and not getting involved in a mess was the ideal solution.
It was just a shame that the incident was his first experience ever, so he failed to make the correct decision. To summarize, he was simply inexperienced and lacked the proper knowledge.
Sometime later, Xu Feng found the store he was looking for and entered, being greeted by a woman at the entrance.
"Welcome esteemed customers," the woman smiled professionally, ignoring the fact that Xu Feng wasn't dressed fancily.
"Is there anything you need help with?" She added, offering her services.
'Right, after that cliche scene, I thought I'd be looked down upon with my current attire. Seems like I'm overthinking too much.' Xu Feng was initially stunned by the warm greeting he was getting.
However, he quickly composed himself and nodded his head.
"Do you have the latest smartwatch and phone model?" He asked, glancing at the woman's chest name tag that said Elena.
"You are in great luck, esteemed customers. We have just received a batch of the latest smartwatch and phone model today." Elena responded with a smile.
"That's fantastic then," Xu Feng was pleased with that.
Unfortunately, trouble and cliche crap seemed to search for him actively after reincarnation.
While their conversation was in harmony, another saleswoman stepped forward and interrupted them.
"Save your energy, Elena. Look at this person's attire and his appearance. It's clearly a person who's cutting school considering the time right now. Do you seriously think he would have the money to afford it?"
