Chapter 120: Revelation
Zhao Xin was rendered speechless by Xu Feng's retort, clearly not expecting him to be so eloquent.
Anna Liu, on the other hand, glared daggers at him, her hands clenching the steering wheel.
Xu Feng's words had hit a nerve, and he could sense the tension rising in the car. "It's just a joke, Anna. Please don't take any offense and make sure your emotions are alright to be the driver."
"Y-You!" Exasperated, Anna Liu was in disbelief at Xu Feng.
'When did he become so annoying yet confident and fluent?' From the record of information they gathered, Xu Feng was described as a useless student, who got ordered around.
There were numerous times he landed himself in some messy situation and required their subtle intervention to help him out.
After all, the only positive thing out of him was his genuine friendship with Zhao Kai. Without that, he would be nothing more than a poor country bumpkin.
By this time, even Zhao Xin was starting to take notice that there was something different about Xu Feng.
'He seemed more confident and he wasn't even afraid of our sudden appearance.' She knitted her brows, finding the changes to be astounding.
She was so distracted earlier worrying about her little brother that she even forgot about his earlier teasing to prove she was the real Zhao Xin.
Alas, now was not the time to think about this matter.
"Alright, you can rest assured the car is not going to be beneath this one. You have a driver's license, right?" Zhao Xin inquired, despite knowing the answer already.
"Unfortunately, I don't." Xu Feng faked a difficult expression and sighed.
"But having Anna be the driver for my new gifted car would be nice." He added, smiling gracefully.
"You really love to joke, Mister Feng." Anna Liu responded, twitching her brows. "You have a driver's license, so you can drive Miss Xin's little brother."
"Oh wow, Anna sure knows me well. I didn't even remember having one at all. Don't tell me, you're interested in me." Xu Feng chuckled heartily and teased.
He then placed his palm under his chin and turned to Zhao Xin, "Or maybe Miss Xin here has me investigated from the start and is just trying to be polite."
"..."
Startled, Anna Liu couldn't believe what she had just heard from him.
'He was provoking me earlier.' She realized her slip of a sentence had caused a disaster.
A few beads of sweat started to form on her forehead. Each one of his sentences was sharp and witty, but it always had an objective underlying them.
Meanwhile, Zhao Xin's expression darkened slightly as she realized Xu Feng was not as simple as he seemed on the surface.
'What were those people investigating? Simpleton and gets trampled on easily? They must be living too nicely.' She was displeased by those in the investigation department.
This was no longer just a simple mistake as the information was completely false and outrageous.
As the tension nearly reached its peak, Xu Feng suddenly laughed merrily and leaned backward. "Ahh, why are we so tense? You want me to help Kai in dressing properly, and you can rest assured that I will do that even without you asking."
"You couldn't have just said that from the start?" Anna Liu puffed out a breath sharply, tilting her head back to blow a stray strand of hair off her forehead.
"Hey, you girls wanted to act like some mafia type of play from the beginning, so I merely complied with it." Xu Feng shrugged his shoulders, brushing off the blame.
"Y-You are unbelievable."
"Thank you for the compliment, Miss Anna."
"Ahem, since you've agreed then get off the vehicle." Zhao Xin faked a cough and pointed at the door.
She realized how pointless it was to find and meet him personally. Instead of getting her motive down, she was played by him. Such a feeling was quite bitter and somewhat reminded her of someone in the Divine World.
'Is it because both their first names are called Feng?' She wondered silently, feeling that only those with the last name Feng, are better. After all, her bestie, Feng Qing Rou's last name was Feng, unlike the other two that she knew: Lin Feng and Xu Feng.
Both are annoying, except Lin Feng was someone who could act in such a way, unlike Xu Feng, who merely latched on to her little brother and their subtle protection.
A few seconds later, Zhao Xin was dumbfounded to see Xu Feng was still in her vehicle, being overly comfortable in his seat.
"Didn't I tell you to get off?" She asked in a confused tone.
"Oh, come on, you can't give me a lift as a kind gesture?" Xu Feng smiled briefly. "I'm sure a person of your status isn't someone stingy or petty to kick me off, right?"
"Miss Xin isn't such a person, but I am." Anna Liu suddenly said and unlocked the door that was right by Xu Feng. "Please make your exit."
"Your PA is heartless, but will you let her act in such a way?" Ignoring her, Xu Feng's gaze remained fixated on Zhao Xin.
"I don't usually ride with people that aren't of use to me." Zhao Xin crossed her legs and continued, "Have you heard of the game, Divine World? If you can be useful there, then I don't mind inviting you to a guild managed by a dear friend of mine."
"A guild?"
"Yes, the Silver Wind Guild."
"KAFF!" Xu Feng coughed and nearly choked on his own saliva when he heard the guild's name.
'Wait a minute, Zhao Xin's dear friend should be someone named Feng Qing Rou. Then doesn't that mean Feng Qing Rou is Gentle Wind and Zhao Xin is Autumn Breeze?' He deduced silently, baffled by the coincidence.
"What's the matter with you?" Meanwhile, Zhao Xin was somewhat annoyed by his reaction.
"This isn't an invitation, but a recommendation. The Silver Wind Guild is currently making waves in the Divine World, so if you want to rise up, then you should try to join the recruitment process." She advised kindly.
