Chapter 111: Global Trust Bank
The bank Xu Feng entered was a modern marvel, with a sleek exterior of reflective glass and steel beams, and an entrance flanked by marble columns.
Inside, the spacious lobby featured polished granite floors, digital screens displaying financial information, and discreet security.
As he stood still, Xu Feng glanced at the section he was supposed to go to.
After all, it had been a while since he came to the bank personally to verify some information.
His actions, however, raised some suspicions from the security guards.
A person glancing around, looking lost, dressed somewhat shabby, might easily be mistaken as someone with bad intentions.
Luckily, one of the employees who had been waiting for Xu Feng's arrival spotted him from afar.
"Hello, Sir Xu Feng, welcome to our Global Trust Bank aka GTB." The employee greeted him with a polite smile.
This action caused the security guards to promptly return to their position as they realized it was not a threat.
"Hmm, you are— Chris." Xu Feng nodded his head as he responded after seeing the nametag on his uniform.
"Yes, right this way, Sir Xu Feng." Chris extended his hand as a gesture to indicate to him to follow.
A person who was now a millionaire naturally had to have some privilege.
Otherwise, who knows if they would suddenly transfer to another bank because of mistreatment or displeasure.
Sometime later, Chris guided him back to his office as he explained the circumstances.
"Sir Xu Feng has recently received large deposits from multiple people such as Zhang Tie Quan and Feng Qing Rou. These two people are also VIPs of our GTB, so we wanted to confirm it with you in person."
To summarize, the GTB merely wanted an explanation of their relationship and why he received a large amount of deposit from these two supposed influential figures.
Additionally, they wanted to understand who Xu Feng was, and if it was another unknown rich person coming out into the spotlight.
Knowing their usual scheme and tactics, Xu Feng kept a calm expression.
He adjusted his glasses and crossed his legs, making himself rather comfortable.
"Have you seen my previous bank statement?" Xu Feng suddenly questioned in an authoritative tone.
Dumbfounded, Chris was taken aback and took a few seconds before nodding his head.
"Y-Yes, your previous bank statement showed a savings of around 5000 dollars and was nearly all spent within a day." He responded after double-checking the statement on his computer.
"Then I bet you're quite shocked when you notice how a person with only 5k in their bank suddenly becomes a millionaire overnight, right?" Xu Feng asked, his expression and tone remaining tranquil.
"It's not hard to guess, but since the people who deposit the money are the likes of Zhang Tie Quan and Feng Qing Rou, then it's not hard to guess what type of person I am. I mean like— they aren't idiots who would just hand money out without care, right?"
At this point, Chris was already dropping beads of sweat from his forehead.
Before he went to greet Xu Feng, he had already been warned by his superior to not make any mistakes. Worse, he could not afford to offend either one of them, lest he could kiss his great salary job goodbye.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng noticed the anxiety from Chris and decided to capitalize upon it.
"Me and those two people are busy, but most importantly we don't like to be high-key." Xu Feng tapped his fingers on the desk.
"So how about we just have the new status of mine updated with the VIP and not have it exposed. Additionally, make sure my information remains private and without my permission, no one else is allowed to see it. That includes everyone!" As he finished his last remark, his expression had turned solemn and quite frightening.
"R-Rest assured, information regarding our customers is absolutely confidential." Chris quickly responded and typed something on his keyboard.
"Please put your finger on that machine there."
Xu Feng did as told and had his fingerprint stamped.
This was the usual protocol in which his information is now locked and no one else is eligible to look him up unless they have his permission. The only exception to this was if the government wanted to see, but even so, they needed a legitimate excuse with evidence provided to the court.
After all, this was the Global Trust Bank, and if they lost their customers' trust, then it could mean the end of the bank.
"Here's your new card that has no limit on it, Sir Xu Feng." Chris then handed over a black platinum card.
Xu Feng merely held the black platinum card with an expressionless face as he stored it in his pocket.
Chris took notice of this subtle action but kept quiet.
"Is there anything else you need, Sir Xu Feng?" He instead asked if there was any other thing he could assist.
Xu Feng paused for a moment before rubbing his chin.
"I'll get you some tea," Chris took it upon himself to get him some drink without needing him to ask.
Before long, Chris exited the office, leaving him alone.
"Phew, it's quite exhausting these days. Those friends of mine really know how to cause trouble and send their money to me in this account." Xu Feng yawned and stretched.
In a somewhat aerobic movement as well, Xu Feng "accidentally" bumped into something that covered the view of the small webcam in the office.
Right at this moment, Xu Feng went to Chris' computer and began typing something on the keyboard.
Time slowly passed by, and Chris returned to the office, "Sir Xu Feng, here's your tea—"
Baffled, Chris nearly tripped when he saw the condition of his office.
Previously when he left the office, it was clean and organized, but now it was a complete mess.
"Ah, you're back huh." Xu Feng laughed awkwardly and pointed at the tall shelf, "I was stretching earlier because my body felt sore, and accidentally went overboard, thus knocking it out."
Trying his best to maintain calm despite his hands starting to twitch, Chris shook his head and promptly placed the tea by the desk. "No worries, Sir Xu Feng. Accidents can happen."
