3 - Chapter Iii Slave Trade
We arrived at the royal capital.
The capital is protected by a high wall, and people enter and exit the city through the gates located in the east, west, south, north, and south. We seemed to be entering the capital from the "west gate," and a bearded man was exchanging something with an armored gatekeeper.
"I am a slaver! Here's your certificate!
"Well, let's see what we've got. What's with all the kids? All right, let's go."
They are handsome blonde soldiers in Western-style armor. I'm a little annoyed.
The carriage rattles along the cobblestone streets of the royal city. Looking outside, we see a wide variety of people coming and going. Yes, a cosplay venue, if you will. Soldiers in armor, people in dresses like ladies, priests, people dressed like cooks.... The shirt and half pants I'm wearing right now, made of stiff fabric, look pretty shabby. I must really be a slave.
Apparently, this world is westernized. Many of them have blond or silver hair. By the way, I have black hair. This is the only thing I inherited from my previous life.
After a while, the carriage stops and we are escorted out. We see a large building in the style of a trading company. It seems to be a slaver's store. A neatly dressed elderly man appeared from the back of the store. He seemed to be the owner of this store.
"Gaim, you have returned. Thank you for your hard work. Female slaves must be cleaned and made to look good. Take them to the well. Polish them carefully. The men... I'll sell him at the market.
"Then, Master, I will have your slavery implanted."
The bearded man took my arm and muttered something to me. The back of his hand glowed for a moment.
"Now the boy belongs to the master. Then I'll take the rest of the kids to the well. Hey! Stop your whimpering! Follow me!"
The girls are on the move. The girl who gave me the bad meal followed Gaim nonchalantly, without looking at me.
"Come on, then."
A man called "Master" walks out. I follow him on foot.
I wonder if I can escape from this. So many people. From the looks of it, this husband doesn't seem to be much of a fighter. Let's just give it a shot.
He doesn't look back at me. This could work. I'll get some distance from him. I'm getting a good distance between us. Just when I think I have a chance, an electric current flows through my body and I feel a sharp pain.
"Oh, I'm binding you with slave magic, so be careful. The pain comes when there is a certain distance between us. If you run away or try to kill me, you'll be in great pain and you won't be able to move for a while. If you think I'm lying, try it.
He shakes his head frantically. How can there be more pain than that? We're totally screwed.
I follow him as hard as I can to keep my distance from him. He seems to walk relatively slowly, but I'm a child. The stride is so different that I have to walk very fast. It's really hard.
Just when I think I'm in trouble, my husband stops. It seems that we have arrived at the "city.
