Chapter 155: Salamander
Chapter 155: Salamander
"There!" Albert shouted while leaping back from a bird that almost cracked his head open with its beak.
The bird raised its body again and avoided hitting the ground. Then, it moved toward the gap between Albert's legs and passed through it.
Suddenly, the bird was hit to the ground, giving Albert the best opportunity to deliver the killing blow.
Bonk Smasher.
Albert finished the bird with his Bonk Smasher due to how low the Bonk Bites he needed to consume to use the spell. And the bird didn't have any extraordinary strength either, allowing him to crush the bird's head easily.
After killing the bird, Albert sighed and looked at the crack that he had found previously. "Still, what should we do with this?"
"Let me explore this crack. Although I still have a physical body, I shouldn't have any problem entering the crack. I'm not very sure, but because of the continuous shakes that we had experienced in the last few hours, the crack looked bigger."
Albert thought for a moment and asked, "What if there's a powerful monster inside? Even my Bonk Eyes can't see through the ground."
"If we don't take a risk, we won't find out whatever is inside. Besides, I'm invisible. There should be a few seconds of response time. Although I can't see in the darkness, I can still sense powerful existences residing inside if there's any."
Albert thought for a moment and nodded. "Fine. If you find something, immediately go back."
"Understood." Shella acknowledged Albert's order and started descending.
Meanwhile, Albert looked around, guarding the crack against making sure there were no external threats.
But for an unknown reason, the moment Shella went down, there was a huge roar coming from the ground, followed by the roars coming from the beasts in their surroundings.
"!!!" Albert widened his eyes and turned to the crack without hesitation. "Shella. Go back!"
Shella also heard the roar and immediately slipped through the gap, returning to Albert's side. There was only one thought in her mind. Something was indeed down there.
The moment she came out of the crack, numerous monsters were coming directly at them.
Albert frowned and commanded. "We're going to retreat while killing these monsters. At the very least, we need to get away from this crack."
"Understood." Shella acknowledged Albert's order and started floating around him.
Albert then ran away as the monsters started chasing after him.
Some monsters took a deep breath before letting out a breath of elements. There were fire breaths, water breaths, or even pure shock waves.
Albert and Shella waved their bats at the same time.
Bonk Wave Emission.
Both of them used the same spell to neutralize all those breaths. Although the spells were nowhere enough to stop all those attacks, the Bonk Wave Emissions still exploded and engulfed the remaining breaths.
Looking at this situation, Albert said while moving away. "There's something inside there. I don't know. To my knowledge, the volcanic eruption is a natural disaster. But there might be someone that can cause such a phenomenon.
"What do you think? Can Lilith actually cause a volcanic eruption? No, can she cause a disruption that can affect the stability inside the volcano?"
Shella pondered for a moment and shook her head. "The first question, no. The second question, I believe she can. I don't know how big the effect is, though."
"I see." Albert's expression became grim while fending off the monsters' attacks.
However, a big change occurred inside the forest. A huge flame pillar emerged from the ground and soared to the sky.
The pillar was only thirty feet wide, but the length reached as far as half of the mountain.
"Holy shit." Albert widened his eyes. "It seems we have done something we shouldn't"
"That's not necessarily true."
Before Albert could reply, the trees started melting and falling down. Suddenly, a huge reptile head entered their sight.
The head seemed to be made of molten rock. There were some black crystal rocks scattered all over the head as they had yet to melt.
When the trees completely melted, they saw a long and huge body along with a long tail. Their appearances were exactly the same as the head. In addition, the molten body was set ablaze.
"What the fuck" Albert drew a gasp as he realized that the monster before him actually controlled all the monsters in this forest.
Shella also confirmed that no monsters moved when this huge lizard came out.
Name: Agnis
Race: Salamander
Level: 260
Gender: Male
Jail Time: 0 hours
"That's too strong." Albert clicked his tongue and started running away while dragging Shella with him. "We are not his match."
"It's been four thousand years To think I would sleep this long." Agnis harrumphed and looked around, finding something weird. "There is a weird energy in this area. Where is the Pure Energy?"
Albert was bewildered when he heard his words. But because he was scared of Agnis, he didn't stop running.
"Master. He seems to be saying something." Shella mentioned while observing Agnis.
'Huh? Am I the only one who can understand him?' Albert became suspicious and thought of Bonkey.
[I'm good.]
'So, you're the culprit.' Albert gritted his teeth. Even though he understood him, he had no plan in getting to know this salamander.
As if sensing Albert's presence, the salamander turned its head and found a running dog and a flying wraith.
"Hmm. A tiny Demon Dog and a weak Wraith. A weird combination." The salamander opened its mouth, revealing numerous sharp teeth. But suddenly, his throat began to glow red.
Seeing this, Shella came to a halt and turned around, raising her Bonk Bat. "Master. Please leave. I'll hold this monster back for a few seconds."
"I don't know what you are saying, but you seem to be planning to stop me. Do you think you can stop me?" The salamander grinned as the light became even stronger.
Albert shouted, "No. Run away with me. This is an order!"
Unfortunately for him, this was the first time Albert specifically mentioned the instruction was his order to Shella. And it was also the first and last order she would ignore as she floated to the air. "Apologize. Even if I need to die, I can't accept that order."
The salamander smirked and let out his breath.
"NOO!" Albert shouted on top of his lungs when he saw the fire start to burst out of the salamander's mouth.
Suddenly, a huge blue-colored Magic Circle appeared right in front of the salamander's mouth and blocked the fire.
"!!!" Albert widened his eyes. "Magic Circle?"
He and Shella turned their heads around before another Magic Circle appeared on top of the salamander.
A huge white-colored sword emerged from the Magic Circle and pierced the salamander. However, the intense heat produced by the molten skin was enough to melt the sword before it touched him.
Seeing these two Magic Circles annoyed the salamander as he immediately turned around and found twenty elves following the leader elf Albert negotiated with earlier.
"As expected, there is something big going on" The man narrowed his eyes, glaring at this salamander.
Hope appeared in Albert's heart as he scanned the elves.
Name: Meilfe
Race: Elf
Level: 210
Gender: Male
Jail Time: 64 hours
Although Meilfe was the strongest among them, the elves seemed to be able to unite and create a stronger spell. This allowed them to stand a chance against this salamander.
"Who are you?!" The salamander shouted and returned Meilfe's glare.
Unfortunately, Meilfe didn't understand what language the salamander was using.
He interpreted this as a declaration of war and raised both hands.
Another white Magic Circle appeared on the ground. The magic circle had the same size as the salamander's body, so the moment it was activated, the white light managed to swallow the salamander completely.
The elves behind him started working on their spell, but the salamander melted the white light first and raised its head, finding a Magic Circle that was about to unleash its power.
Before anything could befall to him, the salamander released its breath, burning the Magic Circle completely.
"It's useless." The salamander shouted as the fire on his body flared up.
Albert shouted, "He is far stronger than you think!"
The elves and the salamander stopped for a moment to glance at him as they were both surprised to see they could understand what Albert said.
It was obvious that Albert was talking in one language. Yet, the other party seemed to be able to understand it as well. That meant Albert actually talked in two languages at the same time.
"I can understand you?" The salamander was stunned as he certainly knew that the elves and the wraith had no idea what he was talking about.
Seeing such a weird occurrence, Meilfe guided his people to protect Albert as he might be the key to understanding this salamander. If possible, they didn't want to fight the salamander in this place because the place they lived in would be razed to the ground.
With this, the atmosphere became tense as they were staring at each other.
