Chapter 26 Guild
Justin stood by the side of the street, dozens of pedestrians passing him by as if he was nobody. And his appearance looked different from usual, the pink hair color that attracted attention every time he walked, had now turned black like charcoal. Plus, Justin was dressed formally in a black suit, complete with a blue tie.
Justin waved as a black limousine drew closer. When the long car stopped in front of him, the back door opened.
From inside, Klaus scanned him up and down. "Good. You've changed your hair color. Now get in."
Entering the car, Justin was surprised to find a beautiful woman inside. The celeb gave her a friendly smile, then sat down next to Klaus.
"Wow, Klaus. I didn't know we'd have another passenger," Justin whispered.
"She is my secretary. From now onwards you'll be seeing a lot of her."
"Mister Justin, my name is Sheila. Please cooperate. I've heard some things about you from Chief Klaus."
Justin frowned, an odd word had just entered his ears. "Chief?"
"Yes, Chief Klaus," Sheila replied with a kind smile.
"Did I hear her right, aren't you the CEO?" Justin turned to Klaus, squinting.
Klaus sighed. "Sorry, I lied to you. I'm not a CEO, but I am Chief of the Product Development Department."
The celeb made a loud noise in the car. Klaus remained silent, while Sheila, who did not understand the current situation, chose to remain silent.
"Wow, wow. Wait a minute. You arrogantly came to me, claiming to be the owner of the company. Now you're saying to be the department head? Are you—" Justin stopped his words. Suddenly, his eyes opened wide. "Don't tell me the contract I signed is fake?! You—"
Slap.
Klaus slapped Justin before his words got out of control. Sheila was sitting next to him covering her wide open mouth with her hands. Justin stroked his cheek, that man wanted to be angry, but didn't dare to vent it.
"Calm your mind," Klaus said in a stern tone. "I may have lied about my position, but I'm still the owner."
"Huh?" Justin furrowed his brow.
Klaus took a deep breath before he started to explain to Justin.
Structurally speaking, Klaus was not in the highest position in Mors Industries. However, if you looked at the company's ownership assets, he was a 51% shareholder, which meant his power was equal to that of the board of directors, even more. In other words, Klaus had control over the company despite his low position.
Klaus chose the position as Chief of the Product Development Department so that he could directly control the quality of the products that would be marketed, and he also handpicked his subordinates, one of whom was Jonathan.
Actually, Klaus had asked his father to take the highest position in the company, but Steve refused because Klaus had no experience in managing a large-scale organization. His father gave him the opportunity to learn from leading the department first before he could finally take over the CEO position.
"Oh." Justin bobbed his head up and down as he opened his mouth wide. Not long after, he squinted. "Then why did you claim to be a CEO when you offered me the contract?"
Without a glance, Klaus said, "Would you believe I offered you a 20 million dollar a year contract, with my position as Department Chief? Your contract is still valid anyway. Relax."
"Ah, I get it.Then who is the CEO now?"
Suddenly, Klaus' face darkened. "You don't need to know."
The limousine finally stopped and pulled up in front of the Awakener Association Branch Office building.
Today, Klaus would apply for a license to establish a guild.
Three days ago, while Klaus was busy interviewing his candidate subordinates in Mors Industries, Justin went to the gymnasium to take the third test for certification. From the test, Justin got the role of Caster.
Klaus told Justin to dress nicely and change his hair color for today. The celeb would be the representative and face of the guild.
"Are you ready, Justin?" Klaus asked.
"Yes, I'm ready."
The three walked towards the building. However, when they arrived at the entrance, there were dozens of journalists waiting. Instantly, Klaus stared at Justin.
"Is it you?" growled Klaus.
Justin shrugged. "No, it's not me. I didn't know they were coming either. After all, they wouldn't have come even if I'd announced I was making a guild. The entertainment world doesn't work like that."
Klaus furrowed his brow. He had no intention of making a big publicity for his guild yet, he was still waiting for the right moment. Actually, if they covered them, this would not have a significant impact on his plans. But still, it annoyed him.
"Yo, Klaus!"
Hearing his name being called, Klaus spontaneously turned his head, and he saw a black-haired man in a gray suit coming towards him. Behind him was a tall man, almost two meters, and his skin was brown as if burned by the sun. His long hair was in a ponytail, hanging down to his waist.
The figure of the man in the gray suit was very familiar to Klaus.
When the man stood before them, his chest was puffed out and his hands placed his waist. His eyes radiated arrogance as he looked at Klaus.
"Oh, Klaus. What a coincidence that we met here. I heard you're an intern at a new company." There was a German accent when the man spoke.
Klaus did not seem to flinch, the veins on his face did not tighten though he heard the man's sarcasm. "Yes, I'm an intern at my own company. I'm here to take care of licensing, for my new guild, you're here for that too, right, Noah?"
"I see." Noah raised his eyebrows. "I heard you're an F-Class. You know you can't set up a guild, right? With such a low rank." His eyes rolled to Justin and Sheila. "Oh, surely one of them must be a figurehead."
Klaus pushed Justin's back. Of course, Justin was surprised and just went along with Klaus' game. "He is Justin. The future master for my guild."
Noah looked Justin up and down, and then he snickered. "Your pawns aren't bad, Klaus."
Justin heard that, but he could only stay silent in anger. Klaus smiled, and he put his arm around Sheila's waist.
"And she is my secretary and my girlfriend. We just started dating a few days ago," Klaus said kindly.
Sheila grimaced, she did not expect it was coming.
Noah grinned. Taking her hand, he kissed it. "Nice to meet you, Sheila. If Klaus doesn't treat you well, you can call me anytime."
After that, Noah and Klaus laughed together. Justin was just dumbfounded at their behavior.
"You know my humor well. All right, Klaus. I'll go first. They're waiting for me," Noah said, patting Klaus on the shoulder.
The two men walked to the entrance where reporters swarmed. Dozens of mics were pointed at Noah, and cameras flashed white on them.
"Mister Noah! Mister Noah!"
"Do you want to establish your guild in US? Are you intending to compete with the Five Pillars?"
"Why are you setting up a guild in America?"
The reporters spouted Noah with a ton of questions, and he remained calm and smiling for the cameras.
"I'd like to answer your questions one by one. But today, I need to hand over the files to the Association Director. Thank you."
After answering them with a vague answer, Noah and his big man entered the building. Some reporters tried to get in but the security guards held them back.
Klaus looked at the scene, with a flat face.
"Damn, that asshole belittled me to my face." Justin gritted his teeth and wrung his hands. "You know him, Klaus?"
Klaus nodded. "Yeah, I know him."
That man was Noah Liebert, the son of Liliana Liebert. He was Klaus' cousin yet rival for the LR Enterprise.
