Chapter 1577: Spark Crystal



Ning observed the organ in his body for a long while, trying to determine what the thing surrounding it was. Not only that, he needed to check just what it was as well.

Looking at it for a while, Ning didn't recognize the material at all. Was it some sort of crystal? Maybe some sort of quartz? He needed to take a better look at the material.

Ning used his telekinesis power to rip the object out from his body, bringing it out through his stomach which ripped open for the organ to come out.

The hole healed just as quickly as it opened up and the organ Ning pulled out regrew inside of his body anew, without any of the crystal around it.

The organ was back as new, and if Ning chose to do so, he could use Spark once again.

"Huh? So I'm not Sparkless anymore," he thought and then looked at the tiny, thumb-sized, roughly spherical object in front of him. He stared at the white crystal and pinched it around a little.

It was so very crumbly that flakes of it began falling out of it like snow. Pinching it a little, he also noticed the lack of rigidity around the entire thing.

'Is it even entirely crystal?' Ning wondered and pinched it hard, the organ burst open, revealing a meaty inside that had definitely not been ruined in any way.

Ning looked at the cross-section of one of the parts and quickly realized that the crystal, or whatever it was, was only on the surface. It was like a layer of frost surrounding an object. Like rust on an iron ball.

If he could remove this covering on the surface, he could get the organ working as it was intended, right?

Ning had to test it now. He returned to the surface of the moon again and spent a lot of time doing nothing but just eating Spark one fistful after another. At some point, the organ must have been covered up completely, because he became Sparkless again.

Then, he took a handful of Spark and returned to his room for further testing.

Since he was now Sparkless, he couldn't use even the tiniest bit of Spark no matter how much he tried. What Ning wanted to see now was if he could return back to being able to use Spark if The just removed the crystal surrounding the organ.

To do that, nothing was simpler than just having the System remove it.

Ning searched through the interface until he found the right settings and had the crystals from his organ removed. The crystals simply vanished as per the System, so Ning ate a bit of Spark to test out the result.

It was perfect.

Not only could Ning use Spark once again, but he could do it at the same rate as before. His efficiency, which had progressively dropped during the entire time he had confused Spark, was back to being at its peak once more.

It was almost as though his organ was brand new when all he had done was remove the covering.

"So that is it, huh?" Ning thought.

He had found the cause of Sparkless. Now, it was time to learn how to heal it.

Ning could heal it simply by using the System, sure, but that wasn't the right thing to do here. He needed to know how to heal the problem without being someone like him.

A person from this city had to be able to remove Sparklessness or else there was no point in finding out the cause at all. Everything became irrelevant to the lack of a solution.

Ning gathered up the crystal pieces from the first organ he had destroyed and learned a little more about them to see just what sort of material they were.

Since he didn't recognize it, he began calling the thing 'Spark crystal'. Since it grew out of lingering Spark energy, Ning couldn't think of a better name for it.

Spark crystals were delicate for the most part and were easily destroyed by even the slightest amount of force. Unlike actual crystals, they were very fragile.

But even with their fragility, they liked to clump together, which caused a lot more problems for the organ.

"I need to get rid of them," Ning thought. "But how?"

The answer was obvious, but the question was could he do it?

"I'll have to," Ning thought. "I have no other choice."

He would have to become a better Converter and convert all the crystal into something harmless directly inside of a person's body.

There were a lot of challenges there, and Ning would have to train a whole lot to be able to do

all of that. So, he locked the doors to his room, sat down, and began practicing.

As Ning began thinking about curing Sparkless, he came across exactly 3 problems as a Converter that stopped him from easily achieving the task.

The first problem was that the core organ that used Spark was inside of the human body. Ning had asked the system to figure out if it was anything similar to the organ he had and it turned out that it was.

So, he now had to convert something that was inside a human body, without operating on them in any way.

The second problem, perhaps a simpler one, was to know what to turn the crystal into. Since it was inside the human body, he couldn't just turn it into something random. It had to be something that wouldn't harm a human body.

Ning thought he could just turn it into water, but he would have to make sure that turning something into water around the organ didn't cause it to have any issues.

He didn't believe it would, but he still had to test.

Lastly, and perhaps the main problem. How was Ning going to convert things at a range?

There were layers of skin, muscle, and fat between his palm and the organs. How exactly was he supposed to Convert through so many layers?

Ning had to give that some thought.
