Chapter 1573: Shocked Audience

Chapter 1573: Shocked Audience

Ning realized the trouble he had put himself into and understood that the only way out was the truth.

"I can explain this part too," Ning said quickly before the Major General decided to do something else.

"What explanation? Are you trying to justify that you worked on creating Dust and selling it to others?" the Major General asked with an angry look on his face.

Ning paused for a second. "May I ask what you mean by creating Dust?" he asked.

"What is there to explain?" the man asked. "You worked together with the suppliers to make Dust to sell to the two."

"So I could get them to work with me so I could meet the suppliers I already work with?" Ning asked.

"Yes, to meet the..." the Major General paused quickly trying to make sense of what he had just said. Ning had worked with the suppliers so he could meet the suppliers. That didn't make any sense at all. Where had he gone wrong?

The others in the room tried to make sense of the word as well, and all failed to grasp what the explanation was.

"May I ask how you came to learn that I had taken part in creating Dust?" he asked.

"We learned that you were taken to meet the Suppliers because you were good at making Dust. That is what we were told," the man said. He wondered for a second if the information was a lie, but then Ning had just confessed to having sold Dust. Something wasn't right here. "That is because I do not make Dust," Ning answered. "I convert objects to Dust."

The room went silent for a while. Everyone looked at each other, trying to discern if they had properly heard what Ning had just said.

The Major General frowned, looking through the sheets of paper in front of him. The other two Majors did the same as well, looking at the report in front of them to see what they had missed.

"You can Convert things to Dust?" the woman Major asked, frowning as she did so.

"Yes, I can," Ning said.

The Major General joined in. "How did you learn to do so?" he asked. "Are you an addict of Dust?"

"Not at all," Ning answered. "I merely tried Dust for a full day and learned enough about it to convert objects into it."

That got more shock out of people than anything Ning had said before. Shock and disbelief. People truly did not believe that he could have tried Dust for a single day and somehow learned how to convert things into it with just that time. It simply made no sense at all to any of them.

And for good reason too. Who would believe such an absurd statement?

"Do not lie in my court!" the Major General demanded.

In response, Ning only gave a small shrug and said, "I'm not lying. Do you want proof?" he asked.

"No," the Major General said. "We do not have time to see if you can learn something from scratch."

"Oh, no, I meant that I could turn something into Dust. Wasn't that what I was being arrested for? It isn't because I am talented in converting things."

The Major General thought for a bit and nodded toward someone. "Let us see if you aren't lying first of all."

Soon enough, someone returned with a vial not even half filled with Spark. It was the bare minimum amount of Spark given so he did not use it to do something bad in the courthouse. Many of the officers took out their own vial Spark, ready to jump into action should Ning do something to try and harm the Major General.

There were many already trying to get into his mind to read his thoughts against his wishes, but all had failed right from the start. There were many confused looks shared between the Connectors.

Ning took the Spark that had been delivered to him took a swig of it all at once and grabbed onto the chunk of rock that had been brought to him.

He grabbed the rock and in an instant, it all turned to Dust. The Dust slipped from his hand like grains of sand, slipping down a dune. They scattered onto the floor before him for everyone to see.

The Major General stood up to get a closer look and many tried to do the same to see what exactly he had done.

Ning dusted his hands and slumped back on the chair for the Major General to continue. "Is that Dust?" the Major General asked someone next to Ning.

The man who had brought him the Spark reached down for the white powder and brought a tiny amount to his nose. He smelled it a little, smelling the sweet and sour fruity scent.

He scrunched his nose at the smile and tasted the tiniest amount. He immediately spit it all out and nodded. "Yes, Major General. That is Dust."

The confirmation sent another round of shock throughout the entire room. Even Redaime looked shocked at what was happening. He hadn't expected Ning to be able to do this. Ning remained in his chair, ignoring everyone else's shock. Instead, he focused on his own surprise.

What he was experiencing was something completely different from everyone else.

When Ning bought the new skills, he had put in a rule that if something tried to change his body, he would know that it was happening so that he could choose whether to allow that to happen or not.

That thing was happening to him right now. His skill let him know about the changes that were trying to happen to his body from an external power other than his own.

Only, the external power did not come from someone else at all. It came from the Spark he had consumed.

Because of how efficient he was at converting stuff, the Spark he ate had given him more than enough power to turn the small rock into Dust.

And whatever power still remained inside of him at the moment was the thing that was trying

to make the changes.

Ning got curious as to what exactly was happening.
