Chapter 1435 The Monster
Chapter 1435 The Monster
There was nothing on the screen for anyone to see. All that they could see was a constant grayness on the screen from the mist that covered the surroundings at all times.
Then something moved on the screen. They all looked up and saw a fish the size of a small shark make its way to the screen.
It was the fish Tim had dominated.
The fish violently shook on the screen, seemingly terrified of something that it was warning to everyone.
"It's scared," Tim said.
"We can see," Tony said softly.
Just then, the mist moved away and all they could see were layers of sharp spikes in a circle in front of them. Fear grasped all of them.
They were staring into the mouth of the monster.
The entire submarine shook at the monster and bit it all at once. They could hear the hall cracking under the pressure from the monster's jaw, the metal groaning as it could not handle the bite from this monster.
"Sir Ning!" Tim looked toward him for reassurance, only to see Ning put on a rueful smile.
"I… did not expect the monster to be this strong," Ning said. "The Submarine will be destroyed within a minute if left alone."
All 3 of them heard what Ning had said and Jasmine screamed. Tim simply sat crouched on the floor, with his head beneath his legs, holding himself tightly so as to not shake in fear.
Tony was too stunned to do anything at all. He could only grab onto one of the walls and stare at the many teeth of the monster that was trying to bite through them.
"Are we… are we really going to die?" Tony asked.
Ning stood still where he had been from the start and turned toward Tony. "Check your watch," he said. It took Tony a moment to understand what Ning was saying. When he understood, he immediately looked at the watch to see what the future held for him.
He could imagine the future to be one of two at the moment. It had to be either Red or Black given the situation. Red for something sad or tragic happening in his future. Black to represent a very bad, possibly fatal happening in the future.
And yet, when he looked down at the watch, the color he saw wasn't Red or Black. Instead, it was Blue.
"Blue?" Tony couldn't help but shout out loud. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The submarine shook again, forcing Tony to stop looking at his watch and grab onto something more tightly. Once it stopped, he looked at his watch again.
It showed a blue dial, representing something exciting or lucky occurring in his future. And the time it showed for that to happen was less than one minute away. "How…" he looked toward Ning. "Are we safe?"
Ning gave him a confused look. "Did I say we were in trouble?" he asked.
Just as he said, he pressed something on the screen, producing a sudden boom that shook the submarine.
Everyone looked up to see what had occurred and saw a mass of bubbles in front of them through the screen, watching the monster let out of the submarine.
As it moved away, they all saw what it looked like a lot more clearly. The face of the monster looked reptilian, almost lizard-like, except instead of having a lizard-like skin, it had scales on it like a fish.
There was a translucent fin on its head and back that quickly vanished into the mist as the monster dove away, its fish-like tail swimming into the mist a moment later.
"It's running away," Ning said. "I'll see you all in a second."
The three of them had only just recovered from their fear, watching the monster run away when they heard Ning speak and turned to look at him.
As they did, Ning disappeared from where he stood.
Before they could tell what was happening, the submarine shook once more and they stared at the screen to see the aquatic lizard-like monster appear back on the screen, screaming almost.
The monster was giant, its head alone nearly 20 meters wide. And yet, it seemed hurt at the moment for some reason.
The three had no way of telling what the hell was going on at all. One moment the monster was attacking them, and the next moment it was crying out in pain.
The monster slid down from the screen, sinking down toward the bottom of the ocean, and when it was gone, they saw Ning floating still in the water, as though he was flying in the air all alone.
"How… how is that possible?" Tony couldn't help but speak out loud in surprise. Jasmine was simply too flabbergasted to understand the situation. She could only watch with her jaws wide open. Never in her life had she seen such a nonsensical showcase of powers from somebody she already believed to be way too strong.
What she saw now broke any logical possibilities of what was happening.
Tim had once seen Ning dive into the ocean to pull out the Golden Scales' captain from drowning. Since that day, he knew Ning was very strong and quite special.
And yet, he was still stunned as he watched Ning bright back the monster to the screen and beat it senseless.
None of the 3 said a single word afterward. All they did was watch Ning beat the monster until it was completely destroyed, pieces of it falling all around the ocean.
The monster that was supposed to be stronger than the octopus monster from back then had been killed so effortlessly that Tim wondered if he had been lied to by Ning at the start.
However, that wasn't possible. For a monster to survive the pressure at the ocean depth, it had to be ridiculously strong.
That could only mean that the monster was in fact stronger than the other monster.
For such a monster to be taken care of so easily, Tim and the rest could only imagine just how much of a monster Ning himself was.
