Chapter 48 - Please Save My Mother
Chapter 48 - Please Save My Mother
"Do you know something about him?" Lu Chen asked Guan Ye hoping that he was familiar with the kid and any potential abilities he might have.
"No. Sorry. Benan always kept him close and the two of them were very secretive no matter what they did."
"I only know that he has some sort of mental ability. I think he can form a bond perhaps or a mind control thing or a blessing maybe that makes people obedient to him."
"I am not too sure." Guan Ye tried to explain and told everyone whatever he knew.
"But the most important point is that the other party has to be willing. I refused to go through with it and they didn't force me. I doubt it was because of the goodness of their heart."
While he was explaining, the dark mist completely cleared and the kid appeared from within it. He looked at the pool of blood in front of him and immediately panicked, starting to cry.
"No. No. No. Please don't kill me. He made me do it." He looked extremely pitiful as he sobbed and wailed, his young face wilted like a flower that could melt anyone's heart.
Even Qin Hua couldn't help but feel bad for him. It was just like she had thought. Benan probably forced him to do everything horrible that he had done.
Not just her but Lu Chen, Guan Ye and every one else as well looked equally sympathetic. Perhaps because they were also afraid of this new and rotten world, they could empathize with the kid.
As the kid continued sobbing and rubbing his eyes, one of the two women who had been hiding in the other room even rushed over and held the boy. "Please. Please. Don't do anything to him. He is just a child."
Everyone had just now witnessed Lu Chen and Guan Ye murdering or rather massacring Benan and his men. Moreover, these people were not aware of the truth yet.
So they eyed these two guys and the dog panting next to them as if they were monsters.
Lu Chen sighed. It was not like he was planning to kill the boy unless he threatened them, but there was something unsettling about the whole thing.
He was especially wary of the mental ability as it was a very dangerous power. So even though he felt bad for the crying child, he still coldly looked at him and muttered. "Tell me everything."
Guan Ye as well stood beside him, agreeing with his approach. He was glad that he had made this choice.
Just like he had thought, this group of people were indeed saner than the last group. Hell anyone would have been more saner than the last group.
Qin Hua as well agreed with what Lu Chen was doing and since he seemed to have a handle on everything here, she decided to leave the rest to Lu Chen and the others while she walked over to the elevator to go take a look at Su Yan.
She was now very big and could even bring him back down all by herself. Qin Hua waddled lazily taking a few steps when she suddenly paused.
Behind her, the kid was still sobbing loudly but what caught her attention was something else. "That bad man has my mother as hostage. Woo. Woo."
"She is there upstairs somewhere. I didn't want to do all those awful things. Please save her." He continued sobbing.
She instantly knew that something was wrong as his words didn't add up.
Qin Hua stopped walking and turned back. She returned to Lu Chen's and Guan Ye's side, standing next to them. Her sharp eyes looked at the kid up and down. Their gaze briefly met and the kid immediately looked down.
"Your mother is upstairs?" Lu Chen asked and the little boy nodded hurriedly. "In one of the rooms."
"Alright. Let's go take a look and let's help her first." The little kid immediately rushed over to Lu Chen and hugged his leg. "You are the best, big brother! Please. Please. Let's go fast."
Lu Chen smiled and patted him. Everyone else as well was touched by the heartwarming scene. The two of them then started walking to the elevator as Qin Hua stared at the duo from behind.
[A captive woman? I don't think so.] She snarled, revealing her canines.
She had taken several laps around the building but she hadn't seen any woman held captive. The only women she saw were those who were working in the kitchen like drones and looked lifeless.
Something didn't add up and she was becoming more and more sure of it. Was the kid taking Lu Chen so that he could isolate him?
As the elevator doors began to close in front of her, Qin Hua's eyes met the little kid's eyes and she recognized a familiar glint within them. It was the way that her family used to look at her.
