Chapter 209 Joining The Battle
After wandering around the vast expanse of the frozen forest in circles, Lu Chen, and Qin Hua somehow managed to gather most of the people who had entered the rift along with them.
They also managed to team up and finish off a dozen or so chimera beasts that they had crossed paths with.
Apart from this, there was another significant event that occurred but only Qin Hua was aware of it.
At the end of three hours, almost all of her party members managed to level up at least once and some even twice or thrice.
Of course, this was excluding the sleeping beauty who had no notification whatsoever.
Though their levels were not that impressive to come in handy, it was still a good method to know that everyone was safe and sound.
For this reason, she made sure to check all the notifications thoroughly every now and then, making sure that no one was hurt.
However, there was still one person that gravely concerned her.
Alex! That woman was still missing!
Luo Zu had told everyone what had happened and Qin Hua knew that the chances of her being still alive were very slim.
But she also hadn't received any notification indicative of her death and her name remained visible on the list of her party members. So she decided to be optimistic for the time being.
Qin Hua tried her best to sniff out her scent in the snow covered land but it was proving to be as difficult as searching for a needle in the haystack.
After several minutes, unexpectedly her clone finally caught a whiff and Qin Hua immediately barked at Lu Chen and Xu Meilin.
The group hurried and everyone followed the tracks. They could see the trail of a huge serpent. The deeper they chased it, Alex's scent intensified along with the scent of blood and carnage.
Everyone hurried forward with worried looks. They did not need Qin Hua's heightened senses to smell the death that was sprawled out in front of them.
"Bro Chen… is sis alright?" Xu Meilin shuddered. Everyone could see blood splattered all over. Terrifying sounds emerged from within the cluster of trees which were covered with frozen tips.
Lu Chen stopped and signaled everyone else to stop as well. "Little white… is it possible for you to gauge the situation first?"
Qin Hua nodded and quietly slipped into a shadow, running ahead to scout first. Her huge black figure blurred and she disappeared into the trees.
A few seconds later she stood still with a grim look on her face. In front of her, there was a massive battle unfolding.
All the remaining chimeras and probably all the remaining frost orcs of the rift were locked into a death match with each other.
Pieces of flesh were tossed into the air. Agonizing shrieks echoed. The orcs clashed with the chimera beasts with everything they had.
Qin Hua gripped her paws into the freezing ground. The very sight made her blood boil.
It was abundantly clear to her that they needed to act now!
Or else… their strength might not be enough to face the victor of this battle!
She silently summoned her clone and sent it back to the group. She then without any hesitation jumped onto the nearest chimera that had torn apart a frost orc.
GROWL!
A tremor swept past the entire battleground. Qin Hua ripped apart the injured chimera and clawed its mana core as she hid once again in the shadows.
She saw the pandemonium that was around her. It was obvious to her what the best method of approach here was.
[Fu Fu Fu! You both fight while I reap all the rewards!]
From within the shadows, black crackling balls of chaotic energy bounced around as if they were suddenly appearing from nothingness.
They were powerful attacks that caused heavy damage on impact.
And not stopping there, some of the balls also bounced around doing even more damage every time they met a target.
Weirdly, these attacks did not differentiate between the frost orcs and the chimeras. Both parties received equal damage.
Because of this, the already chaotic battleground delved into further disarray. It was a 'free for all' with no one having the chance to understand any of it.
And in the background, a black wolf stealthily stole all the mana cores that she could lay her paws on.
She stayed low and tossed out cannonballs of power onto unsuspecting targets.
If an orc was winning the fight with the chimera, she waited until the chimera was injured enough and then attacked the orc, thereby giving the underdog a chance to fight back.
In the process, the two of them became even more injured and in the end, they were simply easy pickings for the feral beast of the shadows.
Lu Chen and everyone watched this scene from the shadows, and they clenched their fists in fear and excitement.
Guan Ye saw the black wolf and he didn't want to lag behind. After all, he also possessed a stealth skill. He disappeared into the battlefield and started following Qin Hua's lead.
He weaved in and out of the fights and stabbed whatever he could find. Lu Chen as well hid among the bushes and started sending shards of ice aimed at whoever Qin Hua was targeting.
While the others stayed back in safety, the three looted and plundered the battlefield to their heart's content.
However, this didn't last long as both the orcs and the chimeras started noticing that something unusual and weird was going on.
Qin Hua, Lu Chen, and Guan Ye immediately became alert but just like Qin Hua, the chimera and orcs as well possessed heightened senses and a few seconds later, everyone was dragged into the battleground, whether willingly or unwillingly.
But this time things were different. No one was caught off guard. They easily outnumbered their opponents and started slaughtering the chimeras and orcs.
[Majestic Roar] Qin Hua growled!
