Reincarnated as a Divine Tree

Chapter 123: Request

Chapter 123: Request

Noah Ji withdrew his consciousness and stopped looking.

He had already understood the specific function of the supernatural power.

But then Noah began to ponder, if he really wanted to use this supernatural power to build a fierce beast army for the clan, what kind of fierce beasts should he choose?

It would be best if they had high growth potential, weren’t too weak, and were obedient.

Such fierce beasts weren’t easy to find in the Disordered Burial Mountain.

Moreover, after enlightening the fierce beasts, how could he be sure they wouldn’t, like this Spirit-Tailed Chicken, become dissatisfied with a peaceful life and choose to pursue freedom?

Creatures with intelligence were often hard to control.

After some thought, Noah abandoned his original idea and continued to absorb the moonlight and spiritual energy between heaven and earth.

On the third day, many clan members gathered at the family square, though some were sent out by Ethan Chen.

These members were the younger generation of the clan, and Ethan did this deliberately.

Today was the agreed time with Gabriel Zhou.

Although they had already made an agreement with Gabriel, Ethan was still somewhat worried when the day arrived.

After all, their strength was inferior. If Gabriel had any ill intentions, the clan needed to preserve a bit of its legacy.

Of course, this was the worst-case scenario.

“How’s the preparation of the Blood Rice?” Ethan asked Mason Chen beside him.

“Clan Chief, everything is ready.”

“Good.”

“Clan Chief, it looks like they’re here,” Elijah Chen pointed to several small black dots in the distant sky and reminded.

Many clan members also looked in that direction.

As the black dots got closer, they soon revealed their shapes to the clan members.

They were giant birds, similar to the mount Gabriel Zhou had ridden last time, but slightly smaller.

On these flying fierce beasts stood several figures, dressed in brocade robes embroidered with white butterflies.

Ethan had initially thought it was just the style of the robes, but now it seemed that the white butterfly was likely the Zhou Family’s clan totem!

In no time, the giant birds arrived above the family square, circling twice before slowly descending to the designated spot.

As the giant birds descended, a light laugh came from the air:

“Chief Chen, long time no see.”

As the words fell, a figure leaped down from the back of a giant bird. It was Gabriel Zhou.

After leaving the bird, he seemed unaffected by gravity, landing lightly like a feather.

“Mr. Zhou, it’s been a long journey. Why don’t you rest for a while?” Ethan Chen said with a smile, looking at Gabriel and the prepared Blood Rice beside him.

“Alright,” Gabriel replied with a smile.

He then turned to the others who had come with him and said, “Load up the Blood Rice, and we’ll head back to the clan soon.”

The dozen or so people nodded and began loading the Blood Rice efficiently.

These seemingly ordinary people were mostly in the Blood Condensation Realm, with several in the late-stage Blood Condensation Realm.

In the Disordered Burial Mountain, they could form a formidable clan, but now they were just here to load Blood Rice.

“I’m glad Chief Chen made this choice,” Gabriel said with a smile in the family hall.

Ethan Chen could only smile bitterly.

Even though Gabriel hadn’t brought many people, the dozen giant birds alone would be hard for the clan to deal with.

But Ethan didn’t dwell on this topic and instead had someone pour the wine.

“Mr. Zhou, this wine is brewed from Blood Rice by our clan. Please try it.”

“Oh?” Gabriel’s interest was piqued. He swirled the ceramic cup, sniffed the aroma, and then tasted it.

As the rice wine went down, Gabriel closed his eyes, seemingly savoring the flavor.

After a moment, he opened his eyes and said slowly, “The wine is refreshing, though it lacks a bit of intensity. It has a unique rice fragrance, which is nice. However, the Blood Rice used seems impure, lowering the wine’s quality.”

“But considering it can help low-realm warriors with Body Tempering, it’s acceptable.”

Ethan was slightly surprised and explained, “Mr. Zhou is right. The Blood Rice used was grown when the Blood Spring was dormant last winter. We added the Blood of fierce beasts to hasten its growth.”

“I see,” Gabriel nodded, taking a few more sips before looking at Ethan with a smile. “Chief Chen, I assume you didn’t invite me just for a drink? Since the Chen Clan now belongs to the Zhou Family, feel free to speak your mind.”

Ethan smiled bitterly, “I can’t hide anything from you, Mr. Zhou. I do have a request. Could you take one more person back to the clan? Oliver Chen has longed to see the world beyond the Disordered Burial Mountain.”

“Your clan’s Innate Realm warrior?”

“Yes.”

Gabriel smiled and said, “That’s a small matter. Consider it done.”

“Thank you, Mr. Zhou. This is a small token of our appreciation,” Ethan said, as Mason Chen brought out two jars of rice wine.

“Alright, since it’s Chief Chen’s goodwill, I won’t refuse,” Gabriel said, taking the wine.

“I have other matters to attend to in the clan, so I won’t stay long.”

“Please, Mr. Zhou,” Ethan said, following Gabriel outside.

The Blood Rice had already been loaded onto the giant birds.

As Gabriel was about to leave, he suddenly turned and said, “I almost forgot.”

“This is the Zhou Family’s token. If other clans come for Blood Rice, Chief Zhou can show this token.”

He threw a jade token, white with a “Zhou” character on one side and a four-winged white butterfly on the other.

Ethan quickly took the token.

One Zhou Family was enough; if more came, the clan wouldn’t be able to develop.

Gabriel and his group came and left quickly.

Along with them, Oliver Chen also departed.

Watching the black dots disappear, Ethan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Things hadn’t turned out as badly as he had feared.

At least the current outcome was acceptable to Ethan.

But this was just the first step for the clan. There were many more things to do.

Gabriel’s visit gave Ethan more confidence.

The Zhou Family’s displayed strength was formidable.

Temporarily belonging to the Zhou Family wasn’t too bad.

Although they lost some Blood Rice, if it could open a path to the outside world, it was crucial for the clan’s future.

The clan couldn’t remain like this forever.

Ethan believed the clan would grow stronger and eventually no longer need to belong to another family.
