Chapter 27: Two Possibilities
Chapter 27: Two Possibilities
"This trendWhat's going on?"
Lin Ming used his spiritual aura to perceive the situation as he paid close attention to the squad of sixteen people.
This was because the spiritual aura of both the Adorable Little Snake and the giant panda had appeared nearby at the same time.
Lin Ming also learned that the two little guys had taken advantage of Lil One and the pack's return to attack the humans themselves!
To tell the truth, he was rather worried.
Although Adorable Little Snake's strength had already reached the level of Unranked Grade-5, the opponent's spiritual aura was in a critical red zone. Moreover, there was someone who was at a higher level than Adorable Little Snake, at the level of Unranked Grade-6!
As for the giant panda, which was only at Unranked Grade-2, Lin Ming could not take care of it. It could survive off just being cute.
However, not long after, an anxious Lin Ming suddenly realized that the spiritual aura of the two persons who had touched the giant panda had faded. The spiritual aura of the two who were in contact with Adorable Little Snake had also vanished.
After that, it also appeared that the group of people became as frantic as headless flies. All except for the guy with the strongest spiritual aura.
"Wait, did both Adorable Little Snake and Panda kill those Unranked level humans?"
Lin Ming had some confidence in Adorable Little Snake's strength. That guy's speed had become much faster, and it resembled a sliver of silver and a well-trained body when it was in action. Whether it was climbing trees or gliding through the grass, it was extremely dexterous.
However, the little guy's combat effectiveness was rather limited.
As for the Panda which was only at Unranked Grade-2, it had killed two Unranked or even Grade-3 humans. That was something he did not expect.
However, it was beyond all doubt that those two guys had killed four enemies in a very short time.
What escalated next made Lin Ming feel even more surprised.
The group of people dispersed after being attacked by Panda and Adorable Little Snake. Though not long after, they were found and regrouped by the strongest one.
Of course, there were still the three who were a far distance from them. They seemed to be lost as they were simply going in circles around the valley.
"Hold on, the group of peopleseems to be retreating." Lin Ming saw that the strongest one was leading the eight people straight toward the exit of the valley. They were retreating back to the direction they came from.
As for the three others, it appeared that they were going to be abandoned here.
That was the right decision.
If they continued moving toward the center of the valley where he was...
Lin Ming had absolute confidence that he would wipe them all out.
Judging from the current situation, Lin Ming had also made some guesses about the situation.
Was there a special reason why communication was impossible in the valley? Why not even a compass could be used?
Otherwise, why would this group of people abandon the remaining three here and ignore them? It was not normal.
Lin Ming began to think that perhaps the spiritual aura here affected the magnetic field or blocked out all communication signals.
If not, the current situation would not make sense.
From the spiritual aura's perception, Lin Ming realized that Adorable Little Snake and Panda were already making their way back. They were not too slow.
The fluctuations in their spiritual aura were still normal, proving that they had not been hurt. Lin Ming was rather satisfied with that.
Though even if they had gotten severely injured, he could now utilize his Spiritual Fluid to fully restore them to health.
Lin Ming reexamined this change.
As of today, two groups of enemies had entered the valley. They began to withdraw within a few hours and the Wolves of Septenary, Adorable Little Snake and even Panda had accosted them.
However, he was living in seclusion behind the scenes, and these people had not noticed his existence in any way.
Under these people's expressions, there were only slightly more powerful mutated creatures that were inhabiting the forest in the valley.
Lin Ming hoped that they would continue to believe so and he felt that those who escaped by chance would think so too.
By controlling the breath of his spiritual aura, those who possessed a spiritual aura density indicator could probably not detect too high of a concentration level.
Moving on, there were two possibilities.
The first was that these people would bring in more people to come by and investigate, and perhaps even catch all the mutated creatures here.
The second was that they would give up and wait until ascending to a certain level before coming to explore the secrets of the valley again.
Whatever the outcome was, Lin Ming would not be too surprised.
After all, he understood very little about the situation as a whole. He was not sure too about what these people had come to do.
He only knew that there was something in the valley that attracted them.
As for whether it was him or something else, he was not clear.
Lin Ming did not completely give up hope. After all, there were still three people who had not left this dense forest. Perhaps they held the key to provide him the information he wanted to know.
"Lil One, Lil Two, and Lil Three, the three of you keep an eye out for those enemies. Don't attack them, and kill the mutated creatures that try to."
After a moment's contemplation, Lin Ming decided to let Lil One and the pack be responsible for 'protecting' the three humans.
At least before he could come up with a solution, he could make sure at least one stayed alive!
The bamboo branches gently caressed the three wolves and let them consume some Spiritual Fluid. Lin Ming also tried to instill his fighting thoughts into them.
Lin Ming wanted to know whether those simple instructions could be fully understood by their spiritual intelligence that had already undergone initial stages of development.
After a while, he watched Lil One and the others each let out a long howl. They rushed to bow before him then proceeded to race across the lake, diving into the jungle.
After doing all that, Lin Ming glanced at the four remaining little wolves.
They had been running around in circles, seeming to want to participate in the mission as well. They glanced up at Lin Ming from time to time, and kept making humming sounds.
He calmed them down with his bamboo branches and looked at the captive animals who had been looking to where Spiritual Fluid had flowed out of the bamboo branches.
He knew that he could take this opportunity to tame them.
After leaving them out to dry for two days, they seemed to have become quite broken, or at least their spirits were. In particular, the egrets and red-crowned cranes that seemed rather honest no longer cried out.
Of course, there were also dishonest creatures. The two jackals and the black bear cub had been gnawing at the bamboo branch cage with their teeth, as though they wanted to escape from it.
That was normal. It would be strange if there was no resistance at all, anyway.
He looked at the three monkeys, the lynx, and the hyena. Those guys seemed quite intelligent as they kept looking at him with pitiful eyes.
Lin Ming could tell that they were longing for the Spiritual Fluid. Whenever the little wolves took a sip, his prisoners would lick the bamboo branches with their tongues. It was rather interesting.
He would first choose a lucky guy from the few.
After giving it a thought, Lin Ming decided to tame the lynx first.
The main reason was that the guy resembled a cat.
"Well then, let's check this guy's personalized dashboard first."
