Rebound: A 2nd Chance

Chapter 307 - No Fear

Back in Jason's old bedroom. Shania was laying flat on her stomach on top of Jason's bed while a plate of sliced Kimbap laid beside her.

While Samantha sat on the chair in front of Jason's old desk. She was scrolling through her different social media accounts on her phone.

Shania tossed one of the slices of kimbap into her mouth before looking at Samantha "So why'd you send the boys away?

I thought we was aboutta head on out?" Samantha blew a segment of her red hair out of her face and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah well, I kinda wanted to get your advice on something." Shania's eyes went wide after she heard Samantha say that.

She jumped up and sat on the edge of the bed before sticking another slice of kimbap into her mouth "Oh I gotta hear this.

Overlord Sammy actually wants to ask someone for advice. This don't happen everyday." Samantha smiled as she shook her head.

"Get your jokes in. I know you can't miss out on a chance to clown me. But I really do need some advice with this girl named Karla."

Shania took a drink from the can of soda that was on the bedside table "Karla, ain't she the new girl that joined your group for Ms. Yuller's project?

You told me that she came clean and cleared things up with Jaya. What do you need advice on her for? Not like lil Miss Princess still got a shot with our boy right?"

Samantha was silent for a moment before she took a deep sigh "That's the problem, I don't know if she really doesn't have a shot or not.

After she got me to join her in putting on Kyle's weird Japanese costumes and cheering for the team Jaya's attitude towards her has been a lot softer.

He's been greeting her whenever he sees her, we have a group chat now with her in it, and lately she's even been going to his games and cheering him on in Kyle's stupid costume.

Like, I thought that was a one time thing? I thought she was going to do it that one time to get Jaya to really forgive her.

I know that Jaya won't fall for her looks, not like the costume really helped with that anyway, but the fact that she's doing this....

Jaya might not be like other guys. He doesn't fall for a pretty face or well done hair, things would be so much easier if he was, instead he cares about authenticity and dreams and stuff.

So if Karla keeps on doing her cheer routine...." Shania slapped her leg as she began to laugh "Oh shit, our little queen over here is afraid of a soccer princess.

Hahaha, I didn't think you were this worried about that girl." Samantha rolled her chair closer to Shania and slapped her on the shoulder.

"Come on Shania, I'm being serious here." Shania wiped a tear from the corner of her eye while smiling "My bad Sammy.

Alright, I got all the laughs outta my system." Shania closed her eyes as she took a deep breathe "Okay, time for advice mode."

She opened her eyes and looked at Samantha "So you're worried about Karla because the whole cheerleading routine that she does might show Jaya that she's genuine about how she feels about him right?"

Samantha nodded her head. Shania continued "Hmmm, honestly that shouldn't be too much of a problem tho.

If we talkin about authenticity and shit you prolly the number one girl on his list. You was there when he first transferred to Jefferson.

You knew him before he became the heartthrob basketball sensation that he is. Back when he was just another kid about to get beat up on by Trell.

You literally one of his day ones. This new girl ain't a problem to be honest. If anything you ought to keep that girl close."

Samantha almost fell off the chair when she heard Shania say that "Why the hell would I do that!?" Shania put her hands up.

"Woah chill girl, you didn't even let me finish. I was sayin that you should keep this Karla girl close so that you can show Jaya that you just like him."

Samantha looked at her with a confused expression on her face "What do you mean?" Shania asked "Jaya the typa dude that never backs down from a challenge right?"

Samantha nodded her head "Yeah, that's true." Shania smiled "Well he would probably want a girl that's similar to him right?

So by you keeping Karla close not only are you showing her that you ain't worried about her. You can show Jaya that you are so confident that you don't care about whether or not there are other girls around him.

Besides, Jaya doesn't strike me as the kinda dude that would fall for a scheming type bitch with no confidence.

So this is like killin a shit ton of birds with just one stone. It's like a four point play in basketball. Chances like this don't pop up all the time."

Samantha went silent as she thought about what Shania has just said. A moment later and she opened her mouth.

"I hate it but you're right Shania. I don't think that I'm the kind of girl that Jaya would like like that. At least not yet.

So I'll keep this Karla girl close until I am. Who knows, maybe becoming her friend will change me for the better. Just like with Jaya."

Shania, Samantha, Kyle, and Jason finally got out of the house as the four of them headed to the mall.

Kyle was nothing but smiles and giggles as they passed by the videogame stores and comic book shops but the smile melted away when he saw where they were going.

"Come on guys, really? What are we doing here?" Shania laughed as she tugged on Kyle's pink anime shirt and pointed at his joggers.

"We here because the Spring Dance that y'all are supposed to be playing at is a themed dance you anime freak."

Samantha added "The theme for the dance is retro. All of the kids voted, even the ones from the other schools, and they chose to do early 2000's.

Luckily for us those were the golden years for the Alt scene. Well, minus all the problematic bands and sexual predator vocalists."

Jason chuckled "So we're here to dress up like early 2000's emo kids?" Samantha smiled brightly "I know right? Isn't it great?"

Jason just shook his head "Let's get this over with then. You better pick out a extra set for Cody. Wouldn't want him to miss out right?"

This time it was Kyle's turn to shake his head as he looked at Jason "You cold bro. You cold as hell. The dude isn't even here and you're going to do him like that."

The four of them then went shopping as Shania and Samantha dragged Jason and Kyle through the different aisles of The Dirty Ditch.

Inside the State Farm Arena. The game had just came to an end as one commentator seemed to be losing his mind.

"They've done it! They've really done it! The Bulls are making history folks! Not only have they stolen two consecutive game ones against higher seeded opponents.

But tonight they have sent a message to the whole league. By blowing out the Atlanta Hawks by 36 points they have officially branded themselves as a legitimate team.

That's right folks, I didn't stutter or mix up my words. The 8th seeded Chicago Bulls have just blown the 4th seeded Atlanta Hawks out of the water.

Looking at how they've played so far in this year's playoffs there isn't any other way for me to describe them other than dominant.

They are putting the rest of the league on notice. The Chicago Bulls are here and they are coming after you!"
