Chapter 10
C10 – He Sorted out the History Book
Lachlan stopped in his tracks.
He stared at Edgar and said word by word, “First, I did not save Miss Alyssa by luck, but by relying on my own strength. Second, I have never called myself Little magic doctor. Third, you claim to be the disciple of a famous doctor, but you are not skilled enough and almost harmed others.”
“You do not reflect on yourself, but keep mocking me. Do you think you are qualified to be a doctor?”
These few words were like a steel knife that deeply pierced into Edgar’s heart.
In an instant, he was filled with anger, “Do you think you are qualified? Do you really think you are invincible? Do you dare to compete with me in medical skills?”
Lachlan continued, “Medical skills are not meant to be competed, but to save people! Reflect on yourself!”
“What’s your name? Please leave me your contact information.”
The maid wanted to stop Lachlan, but Lachlan only left her a back view.
“A doctor like him is the epitome of moral integrity. He is a true doctor.”
“Lachlan did not ask for any reward. He did not take anything away. He is indeed a role model.”
“But he is not strong, but his voice is loud. Other than his flowery words, he does not know anything else!”
“No, he only knows how to brag!”
Edgar knew that everyone was criticizing him, so he suddenly felt ashamed and quietly left the crowd.
“Congratulations to the host for completing the mission. The reward is 5 points of the cognitive energy.”
Lachlan opened the attribute panel again.
Host: Lachlan
Cognitive Energy: 25 (Normal people: 10)
Skills: High School Knowledge, Iron Body Technique, History, Acupuncture, and Ancient Doctor.
Special Skill: Reading Ten Lines at a glance, Reading a hundred lines at a glance
Lachlan took a look at the skills he had mastered. He knew too little. If he had enough Mental Energy, he believed that he could master even more skills.
The next day.
Originally, Lachlan thought that Julius had brought him to the school library, but he didn’t expect it to be the city’s library.
It was said that the city library was one of the most numerous libraries in the country. It contained hundreds of thousands of books, and it was also known as the National Library.
“Lachlan, these are the historical books that we are going to organize today.”
Juliette pointed at the two books in front of her and said, “These historical books are all handwritten copies. Not only are there a lot of mistakes, but they also have lost a lot of words. What we need to do is to study each word and find out the mistakes, and try our best to fill in the missing words, enriching the history.”
Lachlan nodded. It turned out that this was the organizing of the books that Julius had mentioned.
“They are the same as us? But why do they have so many books in front of them?” Lachlan was shocked.
Many people around them were also studying the books in front of them. There were many books in front of them, and there might be more than ten books.
“They are all top students in history, and they have a deep understanding of history. But we are only borrowing the opportunity to improve ourselves. Of course, we have to do our best.”
Lachlan finally understood.
“Then let’s begin!”
“Juliette, you’re here.”
Just as Lachlan finished his words, a handsome man with a rather refined appearance slowly walked over.
Juliette nodded lightly, “Senior Brother Snyder, you can just call me by my full name. I’m not used to it!”
“Alright.”
Cameron rubbed his nose and smiled awkwardly.
However, he still did not intend to give up on his communication with Julius.
Ever since he first saw Julius, he was shocked by her beauty.
She had a refined and elegant temperament, and she was the most suitable woman for him to admire.
Lachlan stood beside Julius. Naturally, Cameron saw him.
However, Lachlan was dressed in ordinary clothes. There was a trace of contempt in Cameron’s eyes, so he automatically ignored him.
“Juliette, Mr. Talbot is here today. If you have any questions, you can ask him.”
“Mr. Talbot will come?”
Juliette’s eyes lit up.
Mr. Talbot’s name was Mandel Talbot. He was one of the most famous scholars in the entire Ellsworth City. His status was high, and he had many students. He had a huge influence in the entire Ellsworth City and even the entire country.
Juliette had invited Lachlan to organize the history books together with her in order to gain Mr. Talbot’s favor.
“Lachlan, you have to perform well later. Mr. Talbot will give you a few questions every time he comes. As long as you can answer them, it is possible for you to become his disciple.”
Lachlan asked, “How many people have answered his questions?”
In Lachlan’s opinion, it was naturally not an easy task to be able to obtain the recognition of Mandel Talbot and become his disciple.
From this, it could be seen that the number of people who could answer the questions were few and far between.
Juliette shook her head silently. “No one.”
Lachlan nodded. This was within his expectations.
Cameron, who was standing at the side, frowned.
He did not expect that Julius and Lachlan looked so close. Lachlan even dreamed of becoming Mr. Talbot’s disciple.
Amongst the students who were responsible for organizing the history books, there were very few who could become Mandel Talbot’s disciple.
He was the one who had the highest chance of becoming Mandel Talbot’s disciple.
Not only was Lachlan very close to the woman he liked, but he also wanted to compete for the position of the disciple with him.
Cameron naturally treated Lachlan as his enemy. His expression immediately turned cold.
“Juliette, may I ask who he is?”
“He is my classmate Lachlan. He is organizing the history books with me,” Julius said.
Cameron smiled. “You are here to bring him to broaden his horizons, right? A student participating in this kind of work will definitely broaden his horizons and will be of great benefit to his future studies.”
Juliette shook her head. “You misunderstood me. I am here to bring him to work.”
Work?
Cameron frowned.
One must know that organizing and editing the history books was not a job that anyone could do.
Not only did this job require a huge amount of historical knowledge, but it also required a huge amount of writing. How could an ordinary high school student like Lachlan be able to do it?
Cameron shook his head in disdain. “It’s not just anyone who can arrange the history books. If there is a slight mistake, it might mislead the future generations and cause the wrong history to be passed down. Julius, are you sure he has the ability?”
“If he makes a mistake, are you sure you can take responsibility for it?”
Cameron naturally did not want to see any obstacles in front of him. He still wanted to work with Julius.
Juliette’s body naturally emitted a fragrance. Just by smelling it, Cameron felt energized and happy.
He could not let a person who came out of nowhere ruin his good luck!
“I believe in Lachlan’s ability. His grades are among the top, and he is definitely an excellent student,” Julius said.
Excellent student?
Whoever came here was an excellent student.
Cameron did not care at all.
If Lachlan wanted to stop him from getting close to Julius, he had to get rid of Lachlan.
Cameron continued to shake his head, “No matter how good his studies are, it is useless. History is an extracurricular subject for you science students. Your family is well-off, so naturally, you will receive all kinds of training, including history knowledge.”
“But I don’t think he has such good conditions. His knowledge of history may not even be as good as yours!”
Everyone could tell what Cameron meant. He was hinting at Lachlan that he was poor!
