"Phew! My mana was not exhausted this time". Legolas heaved a sigh of relief as his consciousness finally returned to his body that lay on the bed.
He looked at his wrist and saw the grey apple tattoo already settled back.
"Well, today's gathering was a success as usual".
After praising himself on his performance in the grey world which was a monthly occurrence now, Legolas finally gave attention to the new triggered mission that was displayed on his virtual game interface.
Throughout the past 3 years, through the gatherings, he already knew a lot about The Star, he never thought the payment she would demand was this.
From his little observations, The Star was obviously a royalty or a noble in the real world. Whichever one of the 2 was correct, it meant that her father was a powerful figure, and this made him kind of dread this mission.
Legolas dreaded the mission but he was also attracted by the rewards that it could bring. His game interface alone already gave him a reward of 100,000 Experience points which in his current stage was a lot.
Apart from the rewards from his game interface, if the follower of the Hermit could fulfill this mission, it would mean a lot to his identity's reputation.
If the Star originally saw the Hermit as a King, she would literally see him as a God now if he executed it successfully. "Damn, I want to do this mission so bad".
Legolas rubbed his head. "I just hope it doesn't involve a Grade D superhuman, that would be awful".
With this sudden schedule change, Legolas adjusted his plans accordingly.
"Once I finish the mission given by Christensen, I guess I'll go take care of the Star's mission. Christensen's mission needs to be taken delicately though".
If it was any other human that triggered this mission, Legolas would simply complete it, take his reward and leave but he had other plans for Christensen.
It was against his personality to leave someone who had the potential of becoming a future version's main character so uneventfully. He did not just want to benefit from the current spoilt Christensen, but the future him also.
One way or the other, he believed that he could make it work.
Legolas also hoped he could finish the Star's mission before the next 9 days. 9 days later, the first batch of players would be coming to this world and he wanted to be prepared for their arrival.
"Damn, I can't rest on my rails".
Legolas jumped up from his bed as he instantly went to work preparing the materials that he currently had for the concoction of the Ultimate Man Potion.
While working, he waited for feedback from the 2 members of his gathering.
…
Bzzz!
Sophia blinked her eyes as her consciousness finally returned to her body.
"Woof!"
She looked down at the beautiful White-furred Golden Retriever that watched her worriedly from the opposite side of her bed. The dog was obviously happy at its owner finally opening her eyes as she wagged her tail excitedly.
Sophia smiled at her dog's antics as she drew closer to pet it. "Lily, did anyone ask for me while I was gone?"
"Woof!" The dog barked and shook her head furiously, prompting a smile on the beautiful Sophia's face.
"Nice doggie". She patted its head before standing up and walking to the mirror, there she admired herself which was a habit she developed recently.
Sophia had natural black hair that flowed tantalizingly down her shoulders. Her sparkly black eyes like the starry skies blended beautifully with her hair to complement her cute nose and lips on red lipsticks.
As she looked at herself, she suddenly grinned cheekily. "Can you believe it? Little Sophie is about to become an Elementalist, Lily, can you believe that?!"
Before the poor little Golden Retriever could react, Sophia spun around with unbelievable speed, grabbing Lily in the process as she started a happy dance.
Her dance did not last though as she suddenly remembered something. "Damn, the Elysium Seeds, I almost forgot".
Knock! Knock!
Sophia paused.
"Lady Sophia, are you in there?!"
"Coming…" With that, she soon got dressed and left her room.
"Elizabeth, follow me, we're going to the supers materials market".
"…Huh?" Elizabeth, the maidservant was stunned.
Sophia ignored her as she left with Lily, her Golden Retriever trailing behind her. Sophia walked away confidently like a lady on a mission.
…
15 minutes later, Sophia returned home with a bright smile on her face. She shut her door closed against her maidservant before kneeling before her bed.
She drew an apple shape on the floor before praying sincerely.
"Your Excellency the Hermit, I am the Star of the gathering".
"I have fulfilled my part of the agreement that I agreed with the World, please take them and notify the World".
After that, Sophia closed her eyes and waited.
…
Barren Altan stood on top of a sand dune as he looked at the world of endless gold that lay before him, he grew up here and lived here all his life.
"Drake Fire Leaves and Mud Water Leaves, I can find those".
Unlike the 2 other members of the gathering, Altan was a middle-aged father with a son who was already above 5 years of age.
As an experienced Pugilist, during his first encounter with the Hermit, he was suspicious and did investigations. After 3 years down the line, he gave up and simply accepted that the Hermit was a figure above his imagination.
With such resignation followed respect and submission. Over the years though, he also learned to start benefiting from the gatherings.
Like now, his instincts told him that the new member of the gathering who was a follower of the Hermit was a strong superhuman.
Helping powerful superhumans was something that all Grade E Pugilists like him craved. The story of their 1st Clan chief's fortuitous encounter was the greatest example of how a fated encounter with a great superhuman could change lives.
Unlike Sophia though, he did not need to go to such trouble to get the 2 sets of leaves. As a warrior of the Audun Tribe of the Great Golden Desert, he had certain privileges.
Altan brought out a special communicator that made use of the desert winds for communication. "Barren Altan is on the line, killer of 2 Sand Worms".
"I want to exchange my contributions points for Drake Fire Leaves and Mud Water Leaves…"
"Wait in the line as we process your order…"
2 minutes later, everything was finalized and Altan got his hands on what he wanted. He kneeled in the sand dune and prayed to the almighty Hermit.
"Your Excellency the Hermit…"
…
Back in his inn, as Legolas prepared the materials, he suddenly felt the grey apple tattoo on his wrist glowing which was a sign of communication.
By now, he recovered all his mana already. He easily answered the call and returned to the grey world where he got his packages.
He constructed a random response of appreciation from the World to his 2 members before returning to the real world.
Legolas smiled as he looked at the complete set of materials. He lit up a fire and placed the cauldron on it as he finally started the potion concoction process.
After a lot of stirring and careful mana manipulation, 30 minutes later, the Ultimate Man Potion finally sat before Legolas in 5 neat bottles.
Legolas smiled and wiped his sweat. "Mission accomplished".
