“Look at yourself, in such a pathetic state and still thinking of borrowing money from our noble son. Fuck, I will make sure you pay for this!” The driver, after hearing Brandon Piers refuse to lend any money, arrogantly marched forward to confront Abigail Green.
Abigail Green frowned.
“Pullan.” A pleasant male voice revealed no emotion.
“Yes, Second Master.” Pullan stepped forward and with one swift kick knocked the driver down, “Money or your life?”
“No…I don’t want any.” The driver, writhing in pain, couldn’t get back up, Pullan’s ruthlessness sending chills down his spine.
Brandon Piers got up and brushed off nonexistent dust from his hands, he looked at Pullan with disgust, “Are you a gangster, or what?”
Pullan, “…”
He threw a bundle of cash onto the driver and gave him another kick, “This is your compensation. Now get out.”
With the pain shooting throughout his body, the driver grabbed the money, rolled onto his vehicle and without a second to spare, he sped off and disappeared.
Pullan looked at the Second Master, hoping his actions now didn’t make him appear like a thug.
Abigail Green, “…” An educated heathen!
Though his methods weren’t right, he did help in the end, Abigail rose from her place, “Thank you, for the treatment….”
“No need.” Brandon Piers cut her off, though he didn’t know how she knew about his heart problem, he took the surgery as nothing more than an excuse she was seeking help for.
He didn’t believe that a woman standing before him could perform a surgery that specialists and professors at the Piers hospital couldn’t do.
Besides, he didn’t help her.
Abigail Green naturally noticed the man’s distrust in her, added with the current condition of her body, she couldn’t possibly perform the surgery, she sighed softly, but he had already gracefully left in his car.
The black Bentley slowly drove into a villa area, Abigail turned to look at the security guard who was petrified, “Can I go in?”
“This….” Recalling the driver’s situation from earlier, the guard hesitated but eventually didn’t bother to interrogate further, “Go ahead.”
Abigail Green entered the villa area and went towards villa 28 following Abigail Green’s memory.
The community was massive, the majority of the villas were standalone, with high greenery, the April lilacs were in full bloom, the white tainted with purple and dazzled with pink. By the time it was noon, there was a mix of spring and summer in the air, it was beautiful.
After walking for more than 20 minutes, Abigail arrived at the Green residence, a black Bentley came into sight.
She couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, and then rang the doorbell.
After waiting for a while, a maid came. Upon seeing Abigail, she frowned deeply, “Where did this beggar come from? Get out! Get out! Get out!”
She was about to close the door.
Abigail stepped forward, a plump hand holding onto the maid’s wrist, “Aunt Edith, don’t you recognize me? Abigail Green.”
“You…you…let go of me!” Diana Edith was frightened by Abigail’s actions, especially the cold light in her eyes, sending shivers down her spine. This was not the second Miss Green that everyone could bully.
“Then please step away, Aunt Edith.” Abigail smiled, her eyes void of any warmth. The woman in front of her was a servant in the Green residence and a far-off relative of Rose Taylor. From the day she moved into the Green house, she had never missed an opportunity to bully Abigail Green. When she was pregnant, the Taylor women were busily plotting to marry into a rich family, and it was Aunt Edith who had been ‘caring’ for her. How could she not recognize Abigail Green?
It would seem she is not welcome today.
But she insisted on entering.
Diana Edith remembered Mrs. Taylor’s orders and froze, but Abigail Green twisted her wrist slightly, targeting her fragile bone points. Diana Edith cried out in pain, “Oh…you cheap…ah, it hurts….”
Crack!
Before the cheap bitch could finish her sentence, Diana Edith’s wrist dislocated, Abigail stepped on her toes and then took a small step forward, Diana Edith fell onto the cobblestones, giving out a howl of pain, alerting the people in the villa.
Abigail disgustingly brushed off her hands.
The living room.
“What’s going on?” Lincoln Green turned his head with displeasure toward Rose Taylor, then respectfully turned to Brandon Piers. “The servants are inept, please excuse us, Mr. Piers.”
“It’s alright.” Brandon Piers’ expression was cold and didn’t reveal much emotion.
Rose Taylor quickly got up, “I’ll go see what’s happening.”
“Dad, Aunt Rose, I’m back.” Before Rose Taylor could leave, Abigail pushed open the door of the living room, calling out crisply.
“You…” Rose Taylor subconsciously glanced at Brandon Piers out of the corner of her eye and then nervously looked at Abigail, “Why are you back?”
“It’s my home, why can’t I come back?” Abigail gave Rose Taylor a dazzling smile. Unfortunately, she was too overweight, and her face was covered with fat when she smiled. Fortunately, her fair and tender skin somewhat made up for it.
“Auntie is just too surprised.” Rose Taylor quickly composed herself, cursing Aunt Edith silently but affably walked over to take Abigail’s chubby hand.
Lincoln Green was somewhat shocked as he looked at Abigail, who must have weighed at least 200 kilograms, “…How did you become like this?”
“The food at school is too good.” Abigail held Rose Taylor’s hand back, and coyly lowered her head with a mocking smirk.
Lincoln Green stiffened, “You never visit home during the holidays, why are you back now when it’s not even the holidays? At just 18, you’ve eaten yourself into pig shape, it’s truly an embarrassment!”
Abigail’s mouth twitched, ignoring her father’s anger. Her gaze fell on the man who had shown interest in her ever since she entered, “Sir, we meet again.”
“Yes.” Brandon Piers was surprised. From Lincoln Green’s conversation, it sounded like the woman before his eyes was 18 years old? And she was the Green family’s young lady who was studying abroad, but the last time he bumped into her was at Maggie Hospital.
“How do you know Mr. Piers?” Seeing Abigail greet Brandon Piers, Rose Taylor uncontrollably asked in a low voice, tightening her clasp on Abigail’s hand.
Abigail sighed lightly, “Auntie, you’re hurting me!”
Instantly, it became clear in her mind that the seemingly glamorous but wanton and fickle man before her was the father of Abigail’s child and the man that Ruby Green desperately wanted to attach herself to.
“I…”
“Auntie, why are you excited that I know Mr. Piers? Are you afraid that I’ll compete with my sister for a man?” After saying this, Abigail looked innocently at everyone. If such words were spoken by a stunning beauty, they might appear pitiful. However, coming out from an overweight Abigail, asserting that Rose Taylor is worried that she would compete with Ruby for a man seemed utterly absurd.
Yet Rose Taylor, with a guilty conscience, retorted, “Since you know he’s your sister’s fiance, you best put away your thoughts.”
“Oh, I just lost my phone and wallet. Mr. Piers just helped me pay for the fare. As you can see, I look like this now, how could I compete with my sister…”
“As long as you understand.”
“Enough!” Lincoln Green cut off the two of them, and again apologetically looked at Brandon Piers, “My daughter is young and ignorant, I hope you can forgive her.”
“Quite interesting.” Brandon Piers looked at Abigail’s cunning eyes, which didn’t match her facial expressions, and their previous conversations, and elegantly answered.
Lincoln Green laughed out loud, then scolded Abigail lightly, “Why aren’t you going upstairs? Making us look bad.”
Who would have known that Ruby Green came down, carefully dolled up, even removing her cast in advance, her face beaming as she saw Abigail Green strolling towards Brandon Piers, “Fat bitch…Abigail!”
“Sister Ruby.” Abigail halted her steps, a confused and wronged expression on her face, “Were you going to call me a fat bitch?”
“I…I did not.”
“Dad, do you also think I’m too fat and ugly now? Today when I entered our residential area, the security guards did not let me in. Just now, Aunt Edith called me a beggar… But I know that you don’t like who I was then as it reminds you of mom, I…” Abigail started to choke up.
However, deep down, she felt icy, who doesn’t know how to play the sympathy card?
Lincoln Green was taken aback, the image of his deeply missed wife sprung into his mind. Looking at his daughter who had let herself go so badly to prevent him from being reminded of his departed wife left him feeling sad and guilty. His eyes towards Ruby Green lacked the affection they had just moments ago.
Brandon Piers watched Abigail putting on her act, his thoughts wandering: she was called Abigail? Which Abigail?
