The sound of vigorous munching filled the room.
"These steamed pork dumplings are absolutely delicious!"
"Five stars for the shrimp dumpling!"
"I’m eating, I’m eating! So good!"
Inside the main hall of the [City of Chaos], the three small creatures devoured their food with unrestrained joy.
"Eat slower—no one’s going to steal your food," Yaeger said with a sigh, facepalming at their ravenous display. Their frenzied eating was so intense that it bordered on comical.
"But I’m hungry," Little Blue protested as she stuffed half a char-siu bun into her mouth, barely chewing before swallowing it whole.
"Even if you’re hungry, you should still follow proper dining etiquette," Yaeger said sternly, crossing her arms. "Use the chopsticks, not your hands."
The trio exchanged glances before shifting their gaze to the chopsticks lying untouched on the table."Fine, let’s use them," Little Blue muttered with a dramatic sigh.
"Yeah, let’s use them," Vera 17 and 18 echoed simultaneously, mirroring Little Blue’s reluctance.
Yaeger’s eyelid twitched at their exaggerated reactions, but she chose to hold her tongue. For now, Yaeger was content that they at least obeyed her orders. She knew better than to demand perfection right away.
"Stab!" Little Blue shouted with glee.
"Poke!" Vera 17 added with a mischievous grin.
"Shank!" Vera 18 chimed in, giggling as they all jabbed at their food.
The trio wielded chopsticks like spears, jabbing and stabbing at their food with childlike delight, treating mealtime as if it were a game.
"It seems you’re all asking for a beating," Yaeger said, her tone sharp. Her aura surged to life, materializing into over a dozen translucent tentacles that hovered menacingly around her.
"M-Master… What are you doing?" Little Blue stammered, sensing the danger radiating from behind her. Her blue hair bristled as she trembled under the weight of Yaeger’s menacing presence.
"Master, no!" Vera 17 and 18 cried out in unison as the tentacles shot toward them, glowing faintly as they sliced through the air.
High-pitched, adorable screams filled the main hall as the tentacles closed in, delivering harmless but firm lessons to the trio.
While Yaeger busied herself with disciplining her mischievous "cuties," a prominent guest arrived at the famed Glory Entertainment Center in Roc City.
"Second Master Lin, what brings you to my humble establishment today?"
Inside the extravagantly furnished office of Scarry Nan, the manager of the Entertainment Center, the man reclined lazily. One hand rested on the sofa’s armrest, while the other balanced on his raised leg. He chuckled warmly as he regarded Stanley Lin, who sat across from him.
"Brother Nan, I’m here to resolve a matter concerning my cousin," Stanley said, his tone tinged with displeasure as he glanced at Mack seated beside him.
Mack nodded silently. His face, once grotesquely swollen like a pig’s head after his ill-fated encounter with Yaeger, had now mostly healed. On closer inspection, however, faint signs of deformation remained etched into his features.
‘Stanley is truly dependable,’ Mack thought bitterly. ‘Unlike my eldest cousin, who doesn’t even treat me like family!’ He clenched his fists in quiet frustration.
That very night, Mack had stormed into the Lin Family estate, seeking Stanley’s help and hoping his cousin would avenge him. However, despite the numerous promises made to him that night, no action had been taken since.
It was then that Mack realized, with crushing certainty, that no one truly valued him.
Desperate and with no other options, Mack turned to the only person who could help him—Stanley, his closest ally in the family. The moment Stanley heard about the incident, he slammed the table in fury and immediately decided to take action, dragging Mack with him to the Glory Entertainment Center.
‘Cousin Stanley, I will never forget this act of kindness!’ Mack thought, his heart swelling with gratitude.
"Brother Nan, my cousin was assaulted in your establishment," Stanley said, his voice cutting through the air before Scarry could even react.
Scarry’s brow furrowed deeply at the news. The idea that a valued guest could be attacked in his own establishment was not only shocking—it was downright unacceptable.
“What on earth happened here?” he roared, turning his fury toward the underlings standing nearby. “How is it that I’m only hearing now about Young Master Chen being assaulted under my watch?”
To Stanley, however, Scarry’s outburst sounded less like genuine indignation and more like a poorly veiled attempt to shirk responsibility.
‘This is your establishment. How could you not know?’ Stanley grumbled inwardly, his disdain evident as he silently observed Scarry’s dramatic display.
Regardless of the theatrics, Stanley was determined to secure justice for his cousin today.
‘Speaking of which, I wonder if they’ve found her yet,’ Stanley mused, briefly recalling Taurus’ urgent request. ‘I don’t understand why Taurus is so impatient. If [Princess] is still in Roc City, it’s only a matter of time before I track her down,’ he thought with mild annoyance.
“Brother Nan, we truly have no idea,” one of the underlings said, bowing his head in shame.
“You don’t know? Then why am I even paying you?” Scarry bellowed, his scarred face twitching with rage, making him appear even more menacing.
"That’s enough, Brother Nan. You can deal with your underlings later," Stanley interjected, his tone clipped with impatience.
Stanley waved dismissively, already bored with Scarry’s exaggerated display. "Let’s move on to discussing the assailant," he said sharply.
“Since Second Young Master Lin has spoken, I’ll let it slide for now. Hurry up and thank him!” Scarry barked at his subordinates. If Stanley wasn't the second young master of the Lin Family, one of the Four Major Families, he would never act so courteously.
“Thank you, Second Young Master Lin!” the underlings shouted in unison, their voices echoing through the office.
Stanley maintained a composed exterior, but inwardly, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction at their praises.
“Second Young Master, do you have any information on the assailant? Just give me a name, and I’ll make sure they’re brought to justice,” Scarry said grimly, fixing Stanley with an intense gaze.
His fierce expression gave off the air of a seasoned predator, making him appear even more intimidating.
At that moment, both Stanley and Mack were reminded that Scarry was far from a benevolent figure. Only someone ferocious and ruthless could carve out an empire during such chaotic times and transition seamlessly into a legitimate businessman.
“Cousin, tell Brother Nan everything you know,” Stanley said, his tone measured as he regained his composure.
Mack nodded and retrieved a photo from his pocket. It was an image taken from surveillance footage, handed to him by the well-groomed attendant earlier.
“Brother Nan, this is the woman who attacked me!” Mack said, his voice trembling slightly as he held out the photo.
Scarry took the photo nonchalantly, but the moment his eyes registered its contents, his body stiffened, and the photo slipped from his grasp.
"Brother Nan, what’s wrong?" Stanley asked in confusion as he noticed Scarry’s face turning pale and his entire body trembling.
"Are you absolutely certain it’s this woman… No, are you certain it’s Her Highness who attacked you?" Scarry’s hand trembled as he picked up the photo and held it out to Mack.
The picture captured a stunning woman in a red dress. Her figure was flawless, her skin alabaster white, and her face partially hidden by oversized sunglasses. Even without seeing her full features, she exuded an aura of unparalleled beauty.
"Brother Nan, it’s definitely her!" Mack confirmed with a nod. But he couldn’t shake the feeling that Scarry was deeply afraid of something.
"I think I recognize this woman," Stanley muttered, his brows furrowing as he scrutinized the photo.
"Young Master Chen, Second Young Master Lin, I strongly advise against provoking Her Highness, the Princess. If you do, you’re courting death," Scarry warned, his tone grave.
The mention of ‘Princess’ made Stanley’s eyes widen in realization. "It’s her!" he exclaimed. The image of the infamous [Princess] immediately came to mind, and it was almost a perfect match with the woman in the photo.
There was no doubt—the woman in red was the very person he’d been searching for.
"Since you recognize her, Second Young Master…" Scarry began, but his words were cut short by the sudden ringing of a phone.
"Master, a call. Master, a call!" Stanley’s phone buzzed loudly.
"Excuse me, I need to take this," Stanley said, rising from his seat and walking a few steps away. Scarry simply nodded, falling silent.
Stanley answered the call after pacing a few steps out of the office. A panicked voice erupted from the other end.
"Second Young Master, it’s bad! Black Dog and the others have been sent to the ICU! Also, before Black Dog passed out, he wanted me to tell you something—[Princess] knows martial arts!"
Knows martial arts. Knows martial arts.
Those three words echoed repeatedly in Stanley’s mind. ‘What the hell does that even mean?’
"What the hell happened over there?" Stanley demanded, his voice sharp with panic.
"Second Young Master, I don’t know either. Black Dog slipped into a coma right after saying that. I’m at the hospital now, filling out the admission forms," the voice on the other end replied hesitantly.
"Fine. Just handle it for now. I’ll head over later," Stanley said curtly before hanging up. His expression darkened immediately. That damned [Princess] had hospitalized his men. Unforgivable!
"You don’t look too good, Second Young Master," Scarry observed as Stanley returned to his seat.
"[Princess] put my men in the ICU," Stanley said grimly, his eyes glinting with murderous intent.
Scarry raised an eyebrow, silently mulling over the revelation.’ Is he seriously planning to go up against Her Highness? She’s a Pinnacle Master! Does he even understand what he’s getting into?’
As Scarry prepared to voice a warning, a hurried knock interrupted the tense atmosphere.
"Come in," Scarry said, swallowing his cautionary words as he turned toward the door. The door creaked open, and a man in a sharp suit entered, striding forward with urgency etched into his every step.
"Brother Nan, Mister Wei is here to see you!"
"Why is he back again?" Scarry’s expression shifted slightly. "Did the lesson Her Highness gave him last time not sink in?"
"Brother Nan, should I bring him in now?" the underling asked cautiously.
"Is Mister Wei alone?"
"No, he brought along some fierce-looking guy," the underling replied.
"As expected, he’s here to stir up trouble. Has that fool from Jinxi been living under a rock?" Scarry sighed in exasperation.
By now, anyone with even a shred of influence in the criminal underworld knew that [Princess] was a Pinnacle Master. Who in their right mind would dare offend someone of her caliber?
"Fine. Bring them in," he said, irritation clear in his voice. If not for the fact that he was planning to do business with people from Jinxi Province soon, he wouldn’t have bothered with these fools.
If Doug Wei hadn’t offended Her Highness back then, he wouldn’t have been forced to kneel and apologize. His private stash wouldn’t have been looted either. Everything was that idiot’s fault!
Of all the people he could have crossed, he just had to offend the strongest one!
After listening to the conversation, Mack and Stanley began to realize something was amiss. This [Princess] wasn’t just any ordinary person!
Meanwhile, the extraordinary [Princess] was at home, busy disciplining her mischievous cuties. Seeing them now seated properly and eating gracefully like refined ladies, Yaeger couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of accomplishment.
“Hehe, how amusing.” The three of them ate elegantly, occasionally exchanging wordless glances. But deep down, their hearts were heavy with sorrow.
Fifteen minutes later, the three mischievous creatures had finally finished their meal.
"Little Blue, has anything unusual happened on Aqua Blue Star lately?" After pouring them a pot of black tea, Yaeger asked casually, though her tone carried a hint of curiosity.
"I’ll check," Little Blue replied, taking a sip of her black tea. She then tapped the air lightly, and a holographic screen materialized before her in an instant.
Her eyes widened as she scanned the data on the screen. "This… What’s this?" she exclaimed in surprise.
