Chapter 130: The Origins Of The Marriage
Chapter 130: The Origins Of The Marriage
She lifted her hand and pinched his elbow harshly. “Go ahead and kill me then. You dare to threaten your great...” Upon meeting his gaze filled with murderous intent, she swallowed the word ‘grandmother’ back.
One needed to have a lot of courage to pluck a tiger’s hair.
She dared to bet all her savings on the fact that if she really addressed herself as his great-grandmother, her butt would split open from his beating.
She hastily changed her way of speaking. “You dare to threaten the wife whom your elders chose for you. Aren’t you afraid your late grandmother will jump out of her grave to beat you up?”
Speaking of her engagement with Bai Qinghao...
Bai Qinghao came from three generations of wealth. He was an outstanding businessman and had sufficient power and money to shake the world.
Prior to the Fang family’s engagement with the Bai family, the Fang family only owned a normal corporation. It was due to the countless projects they had received from Bai Qinghao’s hands over the years that enabled them to transform into a wealthy family. The distance that existed between them and the Bai family was akin to that between heaven and earth.
If family backgrounds had been the primary basis for consideration, the Bai family would never have proposed a marriage alliance with the Fang family.
It only happened because her father, Long Yifan, had saved Bai Qinghao’s late grandmother, Qin Hefang’s life. When she was still alive, she had felt that Fang Xinxin had some affinity with her. Due to this, and out of gratitude for Long Yifan, she had fixed Fang Xinxin and Bai Qinghao’s marriage.
After Qin Hefang passed away, the Bai family upheld their word. Although almost everyone knew of her feelings for Bai Chenxi, her marriage contract with Bai Qinghao became a promise that could not be shaken.
Occasionally, she would wonder about it.
During their past life, Bai Qinghao had been insistent on marrying her despite everything. Was this because he had feelings for her, or because he valued his grandmother’s will?
She did not dare to voice out this question. She was fearful that she would be disappointed by his answer.
Before Bai Qinghao took the initiative to declare his feelings for her, she would stay silent on this matter.
“My grandmother would never hurt me.” Bai Qinghao seemed to recall the late Grandmother Bai. A hint of longing appeared in his gaze.
“In her eyes, the actions that I took were always right.”
“Do you miss her?” She asked in concern.
“Let’s not talk about her.” He disliked being controlled by his emotions. He said expressionlessly, “Fang Xinxin, don’t change the topic. I meant it when I said I would kill you!”
Then, I’ll join you in hell myself!
She shrugged casually. “Didn’t I already say this? If you wish to kill me, go ahead and do so. This young lady will not be affected by any threats.”
A hint of frost appeared in his heavy, stern gaze. She could not help but tremble under his eyes. “You mean to say that you’ll still return to the way you were before?”
“What do you think?!?” She became angry as well. Did he trust her so little?
But then she recalled how untrustworthy her previous actions were.
She could only add on softly. “Bai Qinghao, as long as you don’t change, I’ll never change.”
Earlier, his murderous intent had not been fabricated.
If she dared to say she planned to return to the way she was before, killing her right now would be easier than facing the rage that was sure to come.
After hearing her response, a hint of a smile appeared on his lips. His feelings for her would never change.
Did she mean to say that she was the same?
His mood immediately lifted. Still, he intentionally maintained a stern expression to emphasise. “Remember what you’ve just said!”
He lowered his hand and wrapped his arms around her, bringing her into his embrace with a sigh.
This was his first time realising that she would not bend under his threats. Was he doomed to bow to her will?
Did she truly not fear death?
It seemed like his little woman had a bit of a temper.
She lifted her little face and took in his outrageously handsome features. It was better not to continue going against him. “I’ve remembered it, I’ve remembered it. Can you calm down?”
