Adam flapped his lower body and turned around, leaving beautiful bubbles behind.
Beside him, two beautiful mermaids elegantly killed another two sharks and left the water with a crimson stain.
"Should we keep in moving or we rest for some time?" Adam asked.
"No, We should keep on moving" Lana glances at Emily and continues "My friends will be roaming on the border. "
"So, once we reached there, we can easily enter the kingdom and rest inside."
Adam nods, and three of them continues to move toward the direction where Atlanta was located.
After some time they reach the border, Adam can see a silhouette of two merfolk from afar.
"Lana, you have returned."
"Yes, also I bought back our princess and a powerful human for us to help."
Their face brightened "You rescued the princess, it's wonderful but," they glanced at each other "Can we really trust a human."
"No need to worry. We can trust him completely." As she says Lana glances back at Adam. He just flashes her a light smile.
As they approach the kingdom, Adam notices a faint glow and suddenly he sees many caves like large structures constructed afar.
The city is constructed from giant
interlocking blocks of shaped crystals, stacked in a seemingly haphazard pattern to form passageways, gathering caverns, and smaller shelters as needed.
The city itself rests on a platform suspended over a geological rift, anchored on either side with dark crystal chains and balanced with gas ballasts arranged in the top portion of vaulted domes.
It is truly a wonder how the city is balancing itself.
The country was celebrating, it was because the new king has ascended.
The group squeezed through the crew and went to the nearby inn.
Because Adam had the necklace given by Emily, no one has ever suspected him as a human.
It also let him move and breath freely in under ocean.
The room was splendid, the meal was some sort of moss. It was squishy and juicy.
After eating the foreign meal, he decided to rest for a few hours.
--
3 hours later.
Adam, Emily, Lana and her two friends were gathered in a private dining room.
"So, how do we enter the palace?" Adam asked.
"There is only one way." Emily says "I am sure, he will capture some merpeople in the outskirts."
"We have to sneak among them, then we will have a chance to enter the inner capital. If we are lucky, even that bastard will come by himself."
Adam nodded and waited for Lana's opinion "It's fine, I and my friends will try to check out the dungeon and release the prince Aaron."
"Okay, be careful."
After a few minutes, they bid farewell and went on their directions.
---
The empire outskirts were poor.
Most of the merpeople residents here were thin-looking and didn't have the vibes of the people from the centre of the empire.
As they were walking, an old mermaid approached them.
She was carrying some sponge looking stuff. There wasn't, but it seems heavy for her to carry.
"It's Remin, a plant which makes the surrounding place warm. It's quite similar to the 'firewood' that you humans use." Emily explained.
"Well, it seems like a good opportunity to investigate this place."
As he said, Adam quickly went to the old granny and helped her.
"You two...are not from here, right?"
"Yes, we are merchants from the capital."
"Oh, so you two are respected merchants. Do you perhaps know a person named Ypsilanti Rowe?"
"I don't know that person, but could you tell me who is he?"
"Huh, you don't know him. He is just like you two, a merchant. When he came here last time. He took some 20 or so merpeople as his workers"
"My son was also one of them. But, I didn't receive even a letter from him."
Adam thinks for a while as he walked with the granny to her house.
"Granny, Is there any way to meet him."
"Yes, he told that he will arrive here around 30 days. Probably he should arrive here today or tomorrow."
"Hum.." Adam looked up. "Young merchant, it seems like something bothering you."
"Granny....could you tell me if there is anything like inn or motel here."
"Huh, there is one but it's far away from here, if you don't mind, you can stay in my humble house."
Adam smiled brightly and followed her.
The house was made of refs buy once you get inside it was like any normal house.
Just that inside is also filled with water. The granny just planted the sponges on the corner of the living room.
The water inside the room suddenly become warmer, it was just perfect.
'It is truly magical.'
She offered both of them a pleasant and showed them the way to the bedroom. It was first but unnaturally to sleep underwater, but he soon got used to it.
-----
15 miles away from the outskirts.
A young man was sitting inside something which seems like a carriage but it's not.
The carriage had no wheels, it was dragged by some of the sea horses. Surprisingly the sea horses were also big enough to pull the circle shaped-comfy thing.
The young man let out a long sigh and stared at the old man who was sitting before him.
He was the royal butler, Karen. He was also one of the loyal aids of Prince Alec.
The young man was none other than the general's son who also supported the 1st prince.
He tilted his head stared at Karen and asked "How many merpeople do our king need this time?"
"He said it had to be a minimum 190."
"Well, how much we have collected till now."
Two of them conversed with the people's lives like objects.
"Huh, it is really troublesome. Tch.."
"Young General, please mind your words."
"Sigh. Just how much more we need to capture."
"30 more."
"This no need to fake it. Just destroy the outskirts and capture the merpeople."
"I also have the same idea on my mind."
"Huh, I am glad that we are on the same page," he said in a sarcastic tone.
Karen just ignores it and the ride continues.
