Chapter 6 - Divine Level System
Chapter 6 : Divine Level System
Mount Taihua, atop Qingyan Peak, a streak of spiritual light emerged. Within it, two figures were visible: a youthful, beautiful girl and a handsome young man behind her, standing on a flying sword. They appeared to be close siblings of the same sect. The sword light swiftly carried them to a secluded area behind Qingyan Peak.
“Why are you so calm?!” Yu Ling’er, who had forcefully brought Ye Xuan to this place, expected him to be panicking and questioning her actions. But, contrary to her expectations, Ye Xuan remained composed throughout the journey.
“You don’t know why I brought you here, do you?” she asked, turning to face him. Ye Xuan wanted to explain that he was just a transmigrator, not the villain she believed him to be. However, any explanation might make her more determined to kill him, believing he too had been reborn.
Ye Xuan realized he had reached a dead end by replacing the original villain in this world. His only option was to wait for death, perhaps finding a way to make it quick and painless. So, he remained silent, just quietly observing Yu Ling’er.
Seeing his reaction, Yu Ling’er’s cold laugh revealed a tinge of sadness, “Haha, of course, you don’t know. I could never have imagined that my once vulnerable little junior brother would turn so utterly vile… Practicing forbidden magic, killing our senior brothers, crippling Brother Qin, and on the day of my wedding, bringing demons to attack our sect, killing the man I was about to marry, my dearest love…”
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face. The girl, who had shown a cold, merciless demeanor to Ye Xuan just moments ago, now displayed her most vulnerable and sorrowful side. “Thankfully… the heavens granted me another chance. I’ve returned to the year when I first met you. I can kill you and stop everything.”
She looked up, her eyes brimming with tears, “I know you can’t understand what I’m saying… It’s better for you this way. I’m sorry, but please die.”
She hoped to hear Ye Xuan beg for mercy, thinking it would satisfy her desire for revenge. Thus, she explained her reasons, hoping to make him understand why she had to kill him, to let him die knowing the truth…
But faced with the silent Ye Xuan, she couldn’t harden her heart to torment him. Better to let him die quickly, ending it all. With that thought, Yu Ling’er raised her hand towards Ye Xuan.
Looking at the tearful girl before him, Ye Xuan thought bitterly about his unfair fate. Misunderstood as the villain, he faced death without even a chance to explain. He was a transmigrator who ended up in a villain’s body, about to die for crimes he never committed. Resigned, he thought it might be better to die sooner and avoid further suffering.
Right then, Yu Ling’er’s hand began to glow with spiritual light, unlike any technique of the Taihua Sect, but something she would have learned in the future. In this deserted place, her killing of Ye Xuan would go unnoticed. Regardless, if it meant killing this scoundrel, it was all worth it.
As the cold energy approached him, Ye Xuan felt his body start to freeze. His world gradually became encased in ice. “Is this how I’m going to die?” he thought, struggling in vain against the immobilizing sorcery. Without the power to resist, he awaited his inevitable death, hoping it would be quick and painless.
Yu Ling’er stood in front of Ye Xuan, now a frozen statue. Memories of their past interactions flashed in her mind. She initially had a fondness and love for her little junior brother, born out of their daily interactions and his seemingly kind behavior. But his cowardice in her time of need and his subsequent heinous actions made any forgiveness impossible. He deserved no second chance.
“…,” she thought, regretting her leniency in giving him a quick death.
“….,” Ye Xuan’s consciousness was fading away inside the ice.
“Ding, congratulations to the host, the Divine Villain Script System is activated,” a system voice suddenly echoed in his mind. Ye Xuan, feeling the approach of death, suddenly jolted back to awareness. “System… Am I still alive because of you?”
After all, if a mortal’s body had been frozen to such a degree, he would’ve died long ago, right?
