Chapter 2241 High Tensions
Chapter 2241 High Tensions
The last question is here and Sam is sure, that this would be a direct one.
From the previous questions, he understood a lot of things about this interrogation. This is definitely not the first time something like this is used. And every time it is used, it is always the same strategy.
They bombard the suspect with a bunch of question which would be uncomfortable to answer.
Like Sam was asked how many elements can he use. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Most people wouldn't answer it. But Sam without a change of expression replied. 'More than Most'. It is deflecting, but it is true. Because of that, the other party has to ask the question again. 'Be specific?'
Then Sam replied with the number directly, because he has no qualms about actually revealing his power.
Whenever questions about his backer and affiliation was asked, he deflected them to Wharton, who wanted nothing more than to smack on the back of Sam's head.
With all this, he managed to successfully waste their time.
Even though everyone's suspicions are raised to the peak and they believed that Sam is definitely related to this. They all decided to make a move on him one way or the other.
Bloody Chariot of course, wanted more confirmation. So, he looked at the paper in front of him. It was used to construct questions and he did it even knowing that the other deans might ridicule him. But he didn't care.
He just looked at the sheet. After numerous iterations and so many questions struck off, he finally landed on the one question that he believed he should ask. At least to get some closure and prepare for what's to come.
Even though this question appeared simple and couldn't be more straightforward, and almost made him feel like all that thinking has been wasted, he wanted to go with it.
In fact, for this very reason, he even made a pact with other Deans that he will get the last question.
But of course, unbeknownst to him, the other Deans are all in Cahoots. Before Bloody Chariot could open his mouth, Dean-Poseidon already asked the question.
"The curse that attacked the Poseidon academy students just now, were you the reason behind it attacking the students?"
*BAM*
Bloody Chariot didn't even wait and swung his fist across the dean's face.
The fist made contact, the flesh on the cheek was brushed off just like that revealed the cheek bone bare for everyone to see, and before anyone could see it, the bone cracked, shattered and it spread to more of his skull.
All of it happened in less than half a second.
Dean-Poseidon flew off his seat like a broken kite in a storm and literally went 'through' the stone table in front of him, then through the railings that separated them and Sam.
The Dean created a crater right in front of Sam's feet with his head half buried inside the ground.
"Argh…"
He weakly groaned with barely any breath left inside him.
Sam chuckled and said.
"Yes."
Immediately he stood up and looked at Bloody Chariot.
"Seems like you wanted to ask that one question that badly. You shouldn't have wasted so many questions and so much time just to pry me open. Now, you will never know the answer.
Unless and of course, I feel generous, which I rarely am to my enemies."
The Elders of the Poseidon academy jumped forward and fed some pills to their Dean. The potency is not enough to grant an immediate recovery, but it worked. His breathing stabilized, even if it is just a little bit.
Bloody Chariot looked at Sam, who was immediately guarded by Ling Tian and Wharton as he was guided back to the Gambler academy.
Then he left in a huff.
They got a lot of answers.
And suspicions on Sam were not clear, instead they were at an all time high.
Bloody Chariot, got most of the questions he wanted except for the last one.
The last question that was far-fetched, but extremely straightforward at the same time.
"Are you involved in establishment of Hub?"
That is the question he wanted to ask. Even though everyone grilled Sam for an hour, everyone just asked him, how he is related to the people behind the hub, how he is related to flaming skulls, if he had conspired with the flaming skulls or if he had killed any of the students by using the flaming skulls, his involvement in the defeat of Thalassa family, etc.
But they never directly asked this.
Because even to ask a probing question, they didn't believe a frist grader could do it. On the other hand, Bloody Chariot, felt different.
The initial warnings given by Heron, then all the signs and suspicions, along with the answers Sam gave. He just felt like this question would have worked.
Initially, he wanted to ask about the people who are now missing in the expeditions. The elite second graders and third graders of the Zeus academy, but he felt like changing the question was the right thing to do.
Until that bastard intervened of course.
He felt helpless as he walked back to the Zeus academy.
His posture is nowhere near the man of his stature should have. There is no confidence. He quietly walked and after some time, he couldn't bring himself to hold down his frustration and called someone.
"Why are you calling me now? I am telling you, there will be not more interrogations like this. That pipsqueak put me in spot so many times."
Dean Wharton spoke without any barrier to his tongue as usual.
"Can you really not tell me whatever it is that you are hiding regarding Sam?"
"I cannot."
"Why? Can you at least tell me the reaosn why? And don't tell me something like, only a Dean could know it."
"*Sigh* Alright, it is because of a rule imposed by Gambler. And it is not just imposed on me. If my guess is right, Zeus imposed it on Heron as well. That is all I can tell you."
Bloody Chariot cut the call and closed his eyes. It is already close to dawn. In a few hours the other students will be coming and in a few days, the Academy competition will be held. The internal competitions should soon start.
There will be a lot of external traffic including the family of the second and third graders that he lost. Before all that, he needs to understand what is happening and for that, he only has one way right now.
He went to the Zeus academy immediately and entered the Prayer room.
The most magnificent Zeus status was there, along with a ritual altar in front.
He then summoned Zeus.
"Bloody Chariot. Trust general in the Battle field of Divinity. I thought you would never ever contact me again." Zeus said with a tone that hid a hint of smile beneath it.
At the same time, while Bloody Chariot is holding a meeting with the God, the deans of other academies are also holding a meeting.
"How do we go about this? I am thinking we need to declare a war on the gambler academy. That bastard surely knows a lot. We need to kill him and extract his soul."
That well-thought suggestion came from Ares Academy's Dean.
The same guy who was so smart that he used the B-Word on Sam in the interrogation, without knowing what kind of price he had to pay.
"And who is going to make the first move against the Gambler academy? You?"
Dean-Poseidon asked in a weak tone which made everyone stay silent as if the words were not referring to them at all.
In fact, many people were enraged in the interrogation and wanted to deal with Gambler academy.
But no one wanted to make the first move.
Before the interrogation they might have went there and showed some bravado, but that is only because they knew the nature of the Gambler academy. They won't get into war until they know why they are fighting. They would mostly be in defensive.
But now, the war is definite. Sam's involvement is becoming more and more apparent. Of course, there is no conclusive evidence, and even if there is, there is no way the Gambler academy is going to abandon Sam. This means, they are prepared for war.
Nobody wants an academy war with gambler academy.
They might not have best solo combat oriented cultivators, they might not have some powerful fighting teams.
But when it comes to end results created with pure destruction, there are hardly any academies that could beat the Gambler academy.
Nobody wants the first person to be the recipient of that wrath.
Of course, Dean-Poseidon made preparations for that. He called for his disciple, one of the fourth grade students that hadn't died in the massacre.
"Execute the plan I mentioned. Tell them, they need to be here in a couple of hours. No more later than that."
