Psychokinetic Eyeball Pulling

Chapter 240:

Chapter 240:

Kreka brought her and Astrid to the industrial buildings located at the stern of Rebirth, while Brett returned to the lower district, and her mother, and the other nobles returned to the Sinwen Manor for more planning.

Astrid peered into the building from the already opened wide doors. Psycho's, science users, and kobolds were all working in harmony, well, apart from the odd shouting, and bickering. They were busy smashing metal plates together, welding with sparks flying, or thrusting slabs of metal into forges.

It was hectic. Scraps of metal scattered along the floor. In the centre of the workshop was a massive table where Freya, The Great No-Eyed One, and some others were inspecting something. It looked like a cannon.

To the left side of the table was a crane system. It suspended the cannon just an inch above the table. Astrid approached.

See, Astrid, it looks beautiful! Kreka rushed ahead, leaning over the table, closely looking at the monstrosity.

It wont win any beauty awards, Freya said with a smile. But it doesnt need to.

On another table, Astrid spotted six of the spiked explosive devices that Kreka had used to save their behinds back on the ocean. She felt a strange yet powerful mana radiate from within them. It was the same energy radiating from Kreka.

Then her attention returned to the main table. The same explosives lined the back of the table, placed in a gutter. But these were different from the others. There were no spikes, neither were they round. Instead, they were cone shaped, and spiral etchings were marked onto the outer shell.

Astrid, smiling. Thats true. It just needs to blast the spawn into pieces. I take it these are the refined variants? Astrid pointed at the cone shaped shells.

Thats correct, Freya said. Kreka will activate them, then the gunner will place them here, ready to be fired. She pointed at a large hole at the back of the cannon. It seemed that a bolt pushed the shell further within to place it into its secure position.

Kreka?

Yes! Kreka shouted enthusiastically. My power, whats the word Freya used, ah yes, supercharges the components within the boom bomb, increasing its power.

Speaking of, what are they made of? Astrid asked as she pulled one over to her with Psychokinesis. She twirled it in the air, closely inspecting it.

Some materials that have caused considerable cost to my purse. Freya reached her hand outward to the shell, and brushed her fingers across the metal, and said, But the main ingredient that Kreka is compatible with is actually a nitro shroom. Ground up, it acts as an enhanced form of gunpowder.

Shroom? Astrid asked. I dont see the connection.

Could it be that you dont know the power your little kobold here brings to the table? Freya asked.

Astrid gazed at Kreka. Actually, she hadnt given it any thought. What did he do? What powers did he have? Now she was curious. Astrid shook her head, and said, Actually, Ive never asked. Kreka

Before Astrid could ask, Kreka was already excited to show her. These are the powers you granted me, Astrid!

A gorgeous blue, clearer than any of the oceans on Ruitera, glowed from Krekas white draconic scales. Through his veins, they pulsed to his shoulders, amassing into a bright luminescence. Then, a puff of the blue dust emerged from his shoulders.

Astrid felt the mana in the air stir. Kreka concentrated as his eyes shut. From the same area that the light pulsed, mushrooms grew out from his flesh. They looked soft to the touch. So round, that they were in the shape of a perfect marble. From the tops of the shrooms, the dust continued to puff out every few seconds.

Astrid breathed in some of the dust. Her body spasmed. A new strength was being placed into her blood and bones and muscles. She took a renewed breath.

What is that? Astrid asked.

Kreka doesnt know, but what is certain, is that he was given a System, Freya said.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

A System? Astrid asked, shocked. Then she looked at Kreka seriously. When she had met him, he was just an ordinary, lowly kobold. Why was he nowspecial? Kreka, think closely, how did you obtain these powers?

You gave them to me! He replied, but Astrid shot him down. He hung his head in thought, then snapped his vision back to Astrid, and said, The only thing I can think of is when we defeated our chieftain. I approached his body, kicking it, evil man he was, but something emerged from his eye.

The psychos and kobolds didnt display much of a reaction, but Freya, Leena, and Astrid were different. They were shocked. Kreka had somehow received a black blob. A symbiote. It was what the Order was after. It was why they wanted Astrid dead.

What? Kreka asked, looking at everyone. Why are you looking at me like that?

Its nothing. Astrid sighed.

Here I was thinking it was some kind of rare bloodline awakening, Freya said.

Astrid nervously shuffled on the spot thinking about her own bloodline.

Freya continued, Well, the whole point I was trying to make is that Kreka can enhance the nitro shroom ingredient within the bomb. He seems to have some kind of connection with mushrooms, or nature. He can also empower those around him with the pores that puff from the shrooms atop his shoulders.

Thats not all! Kreka said.

Mana surged from his container once more, then he punched the open air. The blue pores under his flesh reacted against each other, then exploded, causing the air to explode.

Thats awesome, Astrid said. Kreka gushed at the praise. Ive seen a few classes like that, but not as diverse as Kreka.

Thats true, Freya said. He can act like a leader, empowering those around him, but he also has powerful strength. As he levels, he will only get stronger. He has a lot of potential.

Of course I do, Kreka responded. I plan on taking Astrid into the skies to become a dragon. This is only the beginning.

Oh? Freya said with a smile. Astrid. A dragon. Now thats a sight I cant wait to see. Im rooting for you, Kreka.

Astrid rolled her eyes and said, changing the subject. How much did this cost, anyway? I know youre rich, but

But its a small cost for my home, dont you think?

Astrid shook her and smiled. I should have told her this before. Astrid grabbed hold of an explosive shell and used Disintegrate on the outer metal. The innards fell onto the table, scattering, if not for Astrid halting all the components mid air. Despite Freyas frowning visage, Astrid continued. She touched each ingredient; the dust of nitro shroom, steel ball bearings, and others.

Then, she recreated each one with Psych Warp. From only the matter in the air, she created solids, each one floating.

Freya stood rooted on the spot as Astrid then formed the metal shell, encasing all the ingredients as the engineers had originally placed them. From nothing, she recreated the bombs on her own. It had taken only four minutes to create one.

Wh-why didnt you say you could do that? Freya asked after a few seconds of silence.

Well, I could always do it, Astrid said. But I was constantly limited by my control. It seems that my ability has increased by a lot since last time I attempted to create things.

Freya grabbed Astrids shoulders like a crazed person, and asked, What else can you create? Money? Ore? Weapons? Armour? Her questions fired off like a rapid-fire bow.

Astrid smiled. All of the above.

I-Im going to be rich, Freya said, then shook her head. No, this is great. We can up our manufacturing of bombs infinitely. Scale the operation up tenfold. Well eradicate the spawn with a relentless assault of explosives. No, maybe we can even speed up the creation, and help Lord Sinwen, and the others?

Easy there, Astrid said, placing her hands on Freyas shoulders. It took me four minutes to create one. Even if I can make one-thousand of them in a day, would it help my father? Even ten thousands of those bombs cant put a dent in my fathers flesh, let alone the Order, or the Leviathan.

Freya sighed and removed her hands from Astrids shoulders. I know. I just-

Astrid interrupted, We need to stick to the original plan. Ill help the engineers repair Rebirth, and use my spare time to create the bombs. We should reach the Dead Seas in under one week. Hopefully before that, father, and the other Grand Elders can thwart the Orders attempts. If not, then we will head into the Dead Seas for protection.

It sounds crazy, doesnt it? Freya said. If anyone told me wed be entering the Dead Seas for safety, Id call them a psycho. She glanced at the Great No-Eyed One, and added, No offence.

No offence taken, Freya, He replied.

Thats the life we live, Astrid said, shrugging. Ill begin work on the arc, then Ill return to create the bombs.

First, Freya said. You should speak to your friends. They were asking for you in the lower district. It has been a while, hasnt it?

Astrid paused. She thought of Mina, Josh, Gloria, Froderick, and Nick. Indeed, it had been a while. She saw them briefly in the middle district when she had saved them from the corrupted, but it could hardly be considered a friendly gathering.

How are they doing?
