Chapter 89 - [Bonus ]The Popular Group's Problem 3
Seeing the tall guy enter the scene, almost everyone froze up.
"I heard what happened. Yeah, it seemed like something to my friend's scores?"
Nick, who was long been tamed, was now acting like how he was before. With a derisive smile, he looked at the perpetrators one by one. Even Eline, a girl, didn't think that she would be safe. IN front of them, there's a gangster who was looking intimidatingly down on them.
They may be the popular kids but they were still kids in the end. They didn't have the guts to punch unless desperate. The opposite is actually happening here. They felt like, no matter what, they shouldn't fight back. Or else, wouldn't they give this 'gangster' a reason to not show mercy?
Now that Nick specifically called Teren his 'friend' there's no escape to this. The only ones who have the guts to speak were Mike and Catherine, the former moved forward and spoke.
"On behalf of my friends, I apologize..."
"W-we will let them turn themselves in. It's not actually a big deal, right? We can do that, right, guys?" Catherine looked at the others which they responded with nods. If they were still against even though they are already cornered, that would've been very stupid. The moment Mike learned and made a big deal about it, their 'perfect plan' already broke.
"Is that... right?" Nick stepped forward and the smile on his face disappeared. His tall stature greatly accentuates the intimidation he was giving.
Meanwhile, at the back, Iesa was slowly escaping. Since Teren and Nick were already there, she's no longer needed there. However...-
"Iesa, what are you doing here?"
A voice called out to her. She turned around while still wearing that cold expression and cool posture. She then saw that it was Teren who called out to her. Even without looking, she already knows but well, now she can't deny what she heard and ignore it. But still, she pointed at herself.
"Are you talking to me?"
"Yeah..."
Teren didn't have anything different from him. He looked like Student A in the background. He let Nick handle this part.
"Well, I just overheard something and I thought..." Iesa felt her cheeks heat up even though she was just being asked a question.
After answering it, Teren then replied to her. No one else except her heard this reply from him.
"You no longer need to meddle in this stuff. We'll... I'll deal with it myself."
Iesa froze but not because of fear. Teren looked at her with murderous eyes that she can easily discern. Instead of trembling, her heartbeat quicken as she understood what Teren meant.
'I want to see it.'
Iesa may call herself weird but she has this strong desire to see 'it' on the act. She's quite aware she became quite twisted herself.
"O-okay..." she nodded and left, but inwardly, she knew that she will see what's the fate of the popular group from now on.
Teren scratched his cheek when noticed something strange from Iesa. However, even he just forced himself to act tough in front of her. Just calling her out and her responding to it almost cracked a smile on his face. But he persevered. For all he knows, Iesa still has her memories erased, therefore, acting as if there's something between them would make him look weird.
'I have to maintain this... normal person... image in front of her.'
He finally let out a smile which he covered with his hand when Iesa finally walked out. Meanwhile, Nick finally said what Teren wanted him to say.
"I'll let this slide with one condition."
Eline and the other two gulped and listened carefully.
"We will go camping." Nick said with a smile on his face. But inwardly, even he was scared from his own words because he knew well why.
"Camping...?"
"Huh? Why camping?" Catherine asked.
"After the Monthly Exams, aren't you feeling a little... adventurous? Right, Teren?" Nick cast a glance to Teren which the latter meekly responded.
"Y-yeah..."
With this little charade, a thought struck everyone's minds.
'He's using this as an excuse to have fun himself!'
In their minds, Teren immediately became the victim. However, there are some exceptions. Even though Nick seemed like the bad cunning bastard right now, Mike and Catherine felt something much creepier coming from how Teren acted meekly.
"So how about you treat me and my friend with some barbeque out in the woods? If not... well, I have to exact justice!" Nick raised his hand and clenched imposing a righteous figure, "With the help of my brother and his friends."
Those last words settled it.
They were being threatened.
"W-we will!" Dan was the first to come forward, "My family has a van and I use it all the time."
Teren looked at this and felt that everything was so convenient with Nick here. Before, he had to plan meticulously and cull off his bullies one by one. But this time, with Nick's presence, a group camping is settled. Deep into the woods where any accidents can happen.
He held his trembling hands.
'Three people at the same time? I haven't experienced that before. At least, without being caught and the victims are my fellow classmates.'
Teren, too, knew that he had a problem.
'Is this why they want to hunt me down?' he can only have pity on himself.
"If killing will let me get Iesa, that would've been nice though... but getting her, I actually have to do the opposite. Heh."
Teren let out a small smile. He expected it to be a bother but he was actually quite motivated.
"Then it's decided. Let's set out tomorrow, after lunch."
Nick said with a smile, not letting anyone decline or complain. Tomorrow is Friday and cutting off one half-day is not that bad.
"I hope this camping went perfectly, if not, whew, I'll be in a very bad mood."
Another threat.
Nick then turned around and walked away while being followed by Teren.. The popular group was left with a grim atmosphere.
