Chapter 258 - [Bonus ] A Second Teren Hark

Trisha made an expression of interest. It was surprising but Trisha have no idea that Teren is titled 'The Devil Himself'

She only knew Teren as the Hat Guy and then the one who kidnapped her, making her eventually submit no matter how much strength she reveals.

Meanwhile, Teren has yet to say this to her. Why would he? It's not like it's something that he's proud of.

"Who is this Devil Himself?"

Trisha asked, surprising Eron and First.

So she doesn't know who's she helping? The two of them thought of Trisha as a musclehead who was naively deceived by the Devil Himself. First immediately felt the need to pull Trisha away from him.

"Hm, it's someone you don't want to meet, Miss."

"Oh, my name's Trisha, Trisha Jane Feralle."

Trisha introduced herself which attracted First's attention. Trisha's name was embedded into First's head. For this girl to defeat the uncle that holds her deepest respect, there's no way that First would ignore Trisha.

"Feralle? I see, so you're the girl who naturally attracts Spirit, right? Oh, then Eron's defeat is becoming understandable. But at such a young age..."

Oldren saw the talent within Trisha. He felt the need to pull her in but that's impossible, she's already part of the Feralle Family.

"Then, it would be weird if you don't know the legends of the Devil Himself. Let me tell you this, they are not legends. I was there when the Central Pacific met its destruction."

The Drago Lord closed his eyes as he reminisced the horror of his past experience.

"Central Pacific?"

Trisha then frowned and glanced at Teren for which he nodded. She then began to connect the dots.

"This old man doesn't know...?"

She whispered as she giggled, clearly having fun.

Teren just shook his shoulders. Oldren saw this but was unable to hear so he cleared his throat, thinking that they're being rude again.

"I apologize for the tangent. It's just that the name of the Devil Himself if I remember correctly, is Teren Hark as well."

"Uncle...!"

First poked Eron's arm by a clean fork.

"Tell him, he's embarrassing himself."

"Ugh..."

Feeling the responsibility fell upon him, Eron called his eldest brother...

...

"What!?"

Oldren almost jumped off his seat but soon, harrumphed at Eron.

"What is this play? I don't remember you being a prankful person, Eron. The Devil Himself has multiple Great Spirits while having countless Spirits overall. From what I could observe from this boy right now is just one... Spirit."

"What? Spirit? Not Great Spirit?"

Eron asked with a stupefied look.

"Once you received a Great Spirit, your senses expand. I don't know if this applies to all but certainly, I vaguely feel the Spirits within a person. For example, Miss Feralle here has more than a hundred Spirits, all submitted within her. Which is... outstanding. Not mentioning the fact that there may be more since this is my first time encountering something like that."

Teren nodded. He, too, has that kind of ability to that certain extent. That's part of understanding the Spirits.

At this point, Teren finished eating so he was about to step into the conversation when Oldren continued.

"Furthermore, the Devil Himself is a merciless killer. A Grim Reaper, he is. There were no exceptions, he does not discriminate. It was as if that young devil hate life itself. I was lucky I survived back then. If he's here, there should be casualties but from the report I found, no one died from our family this day."

Oldren said, stunning Eron.

"No one... died this day?"

"No one as in no one from our house died. All those from the Serpen House died, that's good news."

Oldren's mood became pleasant again.

"Serpen House?"

Eron was getting more and more confused. At that point, Teren stepped in.

"It's because I'm hoping for a future partnership. I was almost at my death's door today. Ivan, Eron, the Dragolites, and everyone from your house tried to kill me. However, I restrained myself and did not."

Teren had a face of 'I did not do it for free'

"Hmm... that was decisive of you."

Oldren praised which Teren shook his head.

"Not really."

"Alright, you literally saved my life while sparring my people at the expense that you might die. I understand, I shall completely compensate this."

Hearing this, Trisha became excited so she whispered.

"So that's why you didn't kill anyone."

"If I did, then all of my efforts will be wasted. I'm not a mindless killing machine. It's better to make allies than make more enemies." replied Teren.

"That's good, honestly, I don't think I can kill anyone..."

At some point, Trisha got worried that Teren will tell him to kill someone. But upon hearing this, she felt a huge relief.

"Please tell me more about yourself. Unfortunately, there's only one Teren Hark I know."

Teren restrained himself to reply rudely while being oblivious that he had been rude from the beginning. Maybe if he was in a good mood at that moment, he could've smiled.

"Well, some people do call me the Devil Himself."

That's how Teren broke Oldren's misunderstanding.

"Some people do call you what?"

As if he heard something unbelievable, Oldren asked.

"The Devil Himself."

"So... you're saying that you're the Devil Himself? The one from the Central Pacific?"

"... yeah, Teren Hark."

Teren nodded and didn't know what to say to prove that he is himself. If he told Oldren his personal information, of course, Oldren wouldn't know it and that would be pointless. At the same time, if he said his 'achievements' which spreads his name, Oldren would say that everyone knows that so it's useless.

As of now, he lost his Spirits so he didn't know what to do as proof. He just hopes that Oldren will not be so distrustful.

"No," Oldren shook his head with a heavy frown, "If you're really the Devil Himself, why are you here? Dehian should be restricting you to move! Don't tell me..."

"No, I don't think what you're thinking right now is true."

"Oh..."

Oldren paused before continuing.

"Then let me ask this for confirmation. Who gave you the Great Spirit of Greed?"

Teren's eyebrows were raised. It seemed that Oldren knew what he was talking about.

"The one who gave it to me is my father."

"That's not my question. 'We' know that already. However, that's not what I'm talking about. I was there before you entered the Spirit Plane."

"... I didn't know that." Teren then looked at the others.. Since they don't know the context, there's no point hiding it, "I got it from my mother when she died."
