Chapter 29: Little Demon!
Chapter 29: Little Demon!
Rong Zian had the aura of a deity contrasting with his despicable devilish smile. He languidly strolled through the hedge like a grand prodigy bathed with supremacy loathing anyone beneath him. Turns out the vast hedge wasn't infinite, it was only an illusion meant to deceive, when he exited the irrelevant vegetation and came face to face with a small windowless thatched cottage. From first impressions alone, it seemed to be the most welcoming sight in such an eerie place, a source of refuge from the horror lurking outside for unenlightened eyes.
He was well aware of the danger on the other side of the wooden door but proceeded to disintegrate the door by the snap of his finger with a zealous freakish smile as though he had long awaited for this moment. The cottage seemed fairly customary with standard furniture neatly arranged ready for occupation but Rong Zian wasn't deceived in the slightest. With his feet on the doorstep, he leapt forward shattering the array holding the illusion and descended like a god from the heavenly realm into a giant deep cave sturdily landing at the bottom into a massive vat filled with dry human skeletons.
This cave was anything short of normal, it was furnished with gigantic amateurish crafted table and chairs fit for a giant. The loud crunchy sound of crushing bones startled a monstrous hideous colossus with long limbs that could easily uproot the Shanghai Oriental Pearl tower and use it as a toothpick. The creature was easily relatable to the man-eating humanoid titans from Shingeki no Kyojin with bloodshot eyes and psychopathic smile. The giant turned its eerie gaze with a subtle hint of pleasure at the vat and let out a boisterous ghastly laugh taking two strides towards its prey.
Rong Zian leapt out of the vat unfazed and met the creature's deadly gaze with an icy and contemptuous dismissive stare as though the creature was a weakling not worth his time. Feeling extremely offended by this tiny human that he could easily consume in one bite, it roared in a thunderous voice that shook the cave, "Who do you think you are you filthy pest? Today I am going tear your limbs apart while you watch!"
Rong Zian didn't even bother obliging the creature, he reciprocated with a psychopathic smile unfolding his arms and gestured for the giant to come at him arrogantly tilting his head. Engulfed in humiliation the monster charged at him shoving the table which instantly shattered to pieces as it slammed into the craggy cave wall. Stretching one of its long limbs to grab hold of the arrogant pest but unexpectedly, the pest vanished in its grasp. The shock caused it to lose its footing in distress and tumbled straight into the wall, hitting its already hideous head.
Realising it wasn't dealing with a normal human, it stood up in a daze and frantically searched for him with a blurry vision. All it could see was crimson red faintly making out shapes, "You little rat! .....You better run you little demon!" with a thunderous raging roar. It finally got a glimpse of the pest hovering in front of it face to face still grinning.
The creature was extremely enraged as it made another attempt at capturing the pest but was stopped in its tracks when Rong Zian extended his hand gripping something in the air. The creature suddenly shrieked in horror as an invisible force ruthlessly strangled his neck with malicious intent to kill. The glow in Rong Zian's eyes flared up to a blinding white glow as he twisted the giant's neck drawing the life out of it in an instant with ease.
As the ginormous corpse tumbled to the ground with a thud shaking the whole cave-like 3.5 magnitude earthquake. It was only sheer luck that the shabby looking cave didn't collapse in and Rong Zian didn't seem deterred in the least. He closed his eyes with his index finger on his forehead as though thinking but he was summoning the amulet piece that was safely stored inside the giant's clothes.
The fragment of amulet answered his call with no hesitation and as they came face to face, Rong Zian smiled like he hadn't seen a long lost brother as the fragment absorbed into his chest leaving a tattoo on his sturdy chest. Just like that Rong Zian's glowing eyes dimmed as he collapsed to the floor.
