Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 437: Core

Chapter 437: Core

Shane entered a small cavern hall that was roughly the size of a small room.

He could barely stand in it straight and his head almost reached the ceiling, but that was not important right now.

Only a few meters ahead of him, Shane could see something that looked eerily familiar.

There was a small, silver-colored orb levitating in the air, surrounded by overlapping pentagrams and magic circles that released extremely strong mana currents.

Shane had already been astonished that the mana in the entire secret realm was subconsciously drawn to this place, but everything made sense now.

Or at least, he thought that it made sense to a certain extent.

“If this orb is holding the secret realm together, the mana is drawn to it probably empowers the orb.

It is a continuous cycle of give and take….interesting!”

Intrigued by his comprehension, Shane took a step closer, while ensuring that he didn’t accidentally touch a single line of the pentagrams and magic circles all around him.

The ground, ceiling, and walls were filled with all kinds of inscribed runes, and Shane couldn’t help but feel a little bit overwhelmed with the energy in his surroundings.

Had his strength not been extremely high, he would be lying on the ground, gasping for air while trying to not die of suffocation.

However, fortunately enough, he had a true perfect foundation in addition to the amplification he received from his soulbonds!

Being able to move freely, Shane focused on his surroundings as he tried to make sense of the profound runes inscribed all around him.

He was not afraid that something might go wrong which could have easily happened.

Only one rune had to be a trap, activated once a foreign being were to infiltrate the control room of the secret realm.

Luckily, no such thing happened, and Shane had known this subconsciously.

That was at least, what his gut feeling had told him, while his mind realised the truth behind the orb in front of him, the moment he saw it.

The overly familiar orb levitating in front of him was something he hadn’t known for long, but the moment it had appeared, Shane’s life had changed completely!

He was thinking about the soul world core that looked exactly the same as the orb in front of him!

The shape was the same and the ancient and mysterious aura radiating from both his soul world core and the orb in front of him was the same too.

If Shane were to search for differences, it would probably be the color and the fact that the orb in front of him was a lot larger than his soul world!

However, that only meant that the secret realm was much larger than his soul world, while the difference in color could have various reasons such as awoken affinities and so on.

The silver orb had several other suppressed colors within it, and Shane assumed this to be the case because the being that brought the orb inside had something to do with an affinity that represented the silver color.

Shane was not sure what this color was, but that was not the most important.

In fact, the important facts were that there was a soul world core right in front of him and that his own soul world core was vibrating, shaking the soul world lightly.

Through this, his instincts kicked in, and Shane approached the glowing silver soul world core with careful steps.

Stretching out his right hand, he slowly reached for the levitating soul world core which served as a catalyst for several things to happen at the same time.

His own soul world core released the desire to devour the core right in front of him and released a thread of Shane’s soul that traveled all the way through his arm, only to pierce out of his fingertip.

It was thick like an straw, and had a shimmering translucent color, reflecting everything as if it was just liquefied glass.

The sensation was weird and extremely painful, while the sight was unique, to put it simply, but Shane bit his tongue so as to stifle a scream.

The soul thread his soul world core had instinctively released almost reached the silver soul world core in the blink of an eye as a bunch of system notifications popped up in front of him.

Bright red-colored notifications screamed ‘danger’ to him and Shane regained his senses only a moment later as he used his left hand to pull back his right hand.

There had only been a few millimeters of a gap left between the soul thread and the levitating silver soul world core, and Shane could only sigh in relief the moment he stumbled backward.

He tripped and fell to the ground, where he remained for a moment before shaking his head wildly.

“F*ck, that was way too close!” He mumbled while re-reading the system messages he had received.

[Soul world shows signs of a strong desire to devour the realm core! Does the host want to allow the ‘Hidden Paradise’ to devour the secret realm’s core and grow?]

[System warning! The moment the soul world devours the realm core, the host will lose his ability to use the system, and possibly the ability to access the Primordial dimensions too!]

The first message was something Shane had already figured out before because he had been easily able to join the dots and figure out what one plus one was.

He had sensed his soul world core’s desire to devour the levitating silver soul world core and it was evident that it would be something beneficial, otherwise, the reaction of his soul would have been entirely different.

Nevertheless, Shane didn’t know what kind of changes this would bring forth.

Would the secret realm be completely destroyed, or turned into a part of his soul world? What would happen to the living beings inside the secret realm?

Other than those thoughts, the system warning was the biggest reason for Shane to be so relieved about having obstructed his soul world core from devouring the secret realm’s core.

Losing the system, and access to the Primordial dimensions was not that threatening because they were about to disappear either way.

However, for now, Shane still needed both the system and the Primordial dimensions because he had to complete many unsolved tasks.

Not only was it his job to procure knowledge crystals, but Miriam and the Conquerors were doing similar tasks.

Meanwhile, every other member of the Astral Starlight faction was trying to increase their mana purity as high as possible, in order to make the best out of their situation, once the Primordial dimensions were to disappear.

The higher their mana purity, the longer they could live, after liquefying their mana.

Reaching the peak of the Intermediate dimensions would be possible for everyone even without the system, and it was only later that they would require cultivation manuals once again.

As such, completing the mission about the |Basic-Cultivation| knowledge crystal was essential.

Shane was aware of this, and even more so about the importance of being able to use the system and Primordial dimensions for only a few more months.

Owing to this, he was unfortunately held back and unable to devour the levitating silver soul world core that maintained the secret realm even if he wanted to.

But that was no problem because Shane knew that he could return to the secret realm, and devour the soul world core at any moment.

With a faint smile, he left the small cave-hall without taking another backward glance as he returned to the surface.

Ignoring the old treant that looked at him as if it was confused as to how Shane had returned so quickly, the young man took out one of the few space doors he had stored inside his spatial door.

Placing it down, Shane configured it to the MDS Space door inside the Hidden Paradise, as well as another space door that was still stored inside his spatial ring.

After that, he gave the old treant a faint smile before he began to think of a solution on the ways to allow the treants to leave the secret realm.
