Chapter 396 - Interlinked
Chapter 396 - Interlinked
Three months later, one could see a young man sitting on the ground cross-legged, surrounded by two beasts that were labeled as extinct along with an exotic-looking egg in his lap.
A thick layer of impurities enveloped him, only to be repelled by the vine enveloped egg that glowed faintly.
The lesser forest spirit had already attained the [Extraordinary] quality, even before it hatched!
However, Shane was not worried about that because its loyalty was slowly increasing.
After four months, without having hatched, the lesser forest spirit had already reached a loyalty of [54%].
This was more than he had expected because the amount of time he had spent with it was relatively not that much.
Shane had solely focused on increasing his own cultivation, while only increasing the lesser forest spirit's quality.
After cultivating for three months, entirely in peace and in a fully focused state, which had allowed him to enter the zone, his mana purity reached the desired number of [97%]?
Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't have been possible so easily, but Shane felt as if everything about him had been strengthened since he had fought Megan in the Primordial tournament's final.
Not only could he purify his mana at a rapid pace, but his mana circulation had increased too. There was no drastic change, but it was important to Shane nonetheless.
It was only because of this that he had been able to accomplish the target of reaching a [97%] mana purity in only three months of the year he had given himself!
Though an increase of his mana purity by [0.1%] every single day could be a laughable matter for others because it was almost negligible, if one were to consider that he was in the last phase of purifying his mana, this was already good.
Unbeknownst to Shane, it was already September, and his birthday had long since passed.
However, that was not important to him, and age was nothing but a number. The future was only filled with more important and interesting things lying ahead for him to find out!
Since his mana purity had crossed the threshold of [90%], Shane realized just how foolish he had been to participate in the Primordial tournament.
Not only was the difference between a mana purity of [89.9%] and [90%] drastic, increasing his physical strength and the output of mana he could execute by a large margin, his mana circulation increased as well as every characteristic of his body was enhanced.
Even his brain seemed to have been refined.
This feeling of becoming stronger only increased with every [0.01%] increase in his mana purity, making him grow addicted to the sensation.
Only when he reached mana purity of [97%] did he finally realize how strong his opponents had been.
"I guess only Megane had a completely perfected physique?" He blurted out while testing his enormous strength once he had showered.
With the physical strength he had attained, Shane was confident to defeat every opponent he had faced in the Primordial tournament, with the exception of Megane.
The ability she had used at the end was something he was still unable to comprehend and he knew that a single touch would obliterate him.
Yet, by solely comparing his physical strength, he felt that he was stronger than Megane, even if she had already reached a mana purity of [98%] or [99%]!
That was because Cosmo and Umbra amplified Shane's strength by more than 2.5% of their own!
This was a drastic increase, and Shane could tell that he was not far from being amongst the top prodigies of the Basic Primordial Dimensions.
'If Megane just didn't have that weird ability, I would be strong enough to face her!'
Despite thinking like that, he knew that he was being both naive and childish. Everyone had several trumps up to their sleeves, and it was foolish to think that only he could have them.
As such, Shane calmed down before he told Umbra and Cosmo to follow him.
Having cultivated for three whole months, he shouldn't request the [Mythic] mission to get permission for the perfect mana purification technique, right off the bat!
He would have to adjust himself to his body that had drastically changed first.
Other than that, he hadn't practiced his weaponry and martial art techniques.
Because of that, he spent three more days in Masua to roam through the woods while using all kinds of obstacles to visualize a parkour in front of him.
At the same time, he evaluated how much mana the Hidden Paradise had stored and if it was worth enlarging his planet right now.
In order to figure that out, Shane had talked with Talia about the current number of Astral Artisans and members of the Starlight guild.
Astonishingly enough, the Astral Artisans had increased to over 100,000 members, while the guild had become one of the biggest within the Basic Primordial dimension with a total of more than 20,000 members!
This was exceptional considering that every single one of them had been nurtured and trained with every possible effort.
In order to achieve this feat, every single gold coin had been invested back in his faction during the last three months.
Only the promised share of the profits was distributed equally amongst the members.
Because of the utmost efforts, Talia had used to hire several people with the [Duplicato] occupation which allowed them to duplicate extreme and complex blueprints, and the increasing population of the Astral Artisans' shelters, their income increased to a terrific degree.
In the end, the average profits of every single artisan was above 1000 gold coins, which meant that the monthly profits were above 100 million gold coins too!
Owing to that, Talia had decided to increase the profit share of the Artisans to a fixed amount of 20%, while mentioning that it could increase if they were to work even harder!
Shane had approved of this, and with a total gain of 80 million gold coins for the next 9 months, he would be very close to the required amount of gold coins to awaken the particular type of mana heart awakening he had been looking forward to.
If he were to add the income that was expected to be received from the Starlight guild soon, seeing the gigantic total of the cumulative income made him feel satisfied.
The Starlight guild had been focusing on increasing their mana purity with all kinds of system missions while nurturing their combat prowess, experience, and martial art techniques.?
As such, they were trained greatly, while their mana purity was extremely high.
Thanks to that, the missions that had been displayed on the guild's mission board were not only easier to solve but they also gave out high rewards.
This should have exhilarated Shane, but unfortunately, not everything was as easy as it seemed!?
Even though some missions seemed easy to solve, the Primordial Dimensions' dangers had increased tremendously.
As a matter of fact, this was one reason for the Astral Artisans to be so popular among other races.
They had to protect their shelters from the Primordial Dimensions that were slowly but drastically changing.
Apparently, the note Shane had read was not only a little warning saying that the Primordial Dimensions were just about to change, it was quite a literal word of caution!
Unbeknownst to most races, certain Primordial dimensions were suddenly interlinked with each other.
Having established a connection, they began to fuse in particular locations without shelters, and it was only when certain races encountered their own shelter of a completely different dimension that the truth had slowly been unveiled!
This had been deemed as something mysterious and that it may only happen to those particular dimensions, but the truth couldn't be concealed anymore by those who were afraid of it.
Extremely dangerous dimensions got connected to those dimensions that were labeled as beginner-friendly, and the dangerous beasts began to wreak havoc, destroying everything without showing any mercy.
Their bloodlust and the intention to release their tension by massacring millions of beings came to the forefront after being oppressed by even stronger beasts in the dimensions they had been unable to escape from for decades.
Owing to that, nobody could tell whether a particular dimension was safe or not, and a seed of fear had planted itself within everyone.
However that was only the beginning, and mankind and other races would have to face many more dangerous problems during the last three months!
