Chapter 15: The Event of Hunting Lord Inferno (2) Part I
Chapter 15: The Event of Hunting Lord Inferno (2) Part I
“Ugh! Which part of the dungeon am I now?” The owner of this murmur of complaints could not be anyone else but that same guy, Wisana who was wandering around by himself without destinations as usual.
Damn it. He blamed those players for pushing him in, making him miss Maysa. And after they could get in, they just dodged him and went separate ways for their quest!
May the Lord Inferno end every one of them, amen!
Wisana was intensifying, cursing them, as he was walking down the stairs without hesitation stopping for a bit.
“The one who designed this building did such a good job of making it look creepy like it.” The hoarse voice spoke, looking at the surroundings. He then remembered when his gamer friend, Tunwa brought one of those horror games to play at his place, Wisana got shivers down his spine.
Because the place looked exactly like those games!
He shook the scary scenes off his head, as he continued to rush down the old, shabby stairs.
Actually, if this were someone else, they would have been smart enough to stop and wait for Maysa to catch up with them. Obviously, Wisana was not one of those. With foolishness and impetuousness, he kept on wandering around without any fear of this creepy prison.
Should this be called his curiosity or his propensity for causing trouble?
Then his feet just took him to the center of the dungeon already.
It was more than ten minutes now, since the announcement that the event had started. However, until now, Wisana had not heard any fighting sound.
Well, the boss was 18 meters tall, if these many people were fighting it, it should be noisier. Or maybe, this could be a place for him to hide, quietly. Maybe this was a chance for him to not get involved in the fight. The smooth-face curled up a smile, satisfied with his genius idea.
That was right. He could sneak around later to find a good spot to observe the most brutal battle that was about to happen. He did not have a camera, so he could not join any event anyway.
In such a case, watching them fight seemed to be the most enjoyable way to join!
He took a few steps further before he could go pass through the narrow alley. Came to think of it, the air here was strangely hot. But well, kept walking, he would reach the exit soon.
He thought as he continued walking carelessly. After that narrow alley, he was in a huge open hall. The ceiling was tall, decorated with colored glasses that reflected when the light went through them. At the same time, Wisana felt the heat getting hotter in that room, making him all soaked with sweat.
“Why is it so hot in here?” He complained as he wiped the sweat with his hand.
GRRRR!!
He did not continue to complain when an unwanted growl loudened. Wisana jumped, looking around to find the source of it. But he could only see the dark corners that he thought that he might just be hearing things.
Until a few seconds later, an unknown flame blazed in front of him, making Wisana stop short. Then it died off.
“Oh... please no,” he whined.
“Player Wisana has discovered Lord Inferno. I suggest you run because the levels are beyond unmatched.”
Jinnie spoke, sending the master weak in his knee. In the tall shadow in front of him, there were sparks glowing at the top of it. He guessed those were the eyes of that sucker boss.
Luckily, it did not notice that he was here, yet.
So, let’s get out of here before it does!
Wisana thought as he was sneaking back to the alley as quietly as possible.
Silence, Wisana. Silently, you could do it. Good, just like that.
“Wisana, where are you? Come find me quickly before you get in trouble.”
Suddenly, Maysa’s treble voice loudened from a popped-up news feed window, making Wisana almost jump out of his skin, hurriedly muting it in no time.
Holy sh*t!
The jinx would never stop following this young man. He slowly turned to look behind, hopelessly wishing that Maysa’s voice would not draw the attention of the monster to him.
As soon as the golden-brown eyes caught the image there, Wisana felt like his bones had melted down and he was about to fall to the floor.
GROWL!!!
The loud growl was echoing through the hall as the gigantic 18-meter-tall figure was blazing up the flame on its skin. The brightness showed Wisana its thick, tall body. The arms were huge with long sharp claws. Its face was long and spiky like a dragon's. More importantly, the flaming eyes were deadly gazing at Wisana.
“S... sh*t.”
-----------------
“Hey! Where’s the Lord Inferno? It's been a while now, but no one ever found a trace of it!”
“Let’s chill. We’re here only for the photos. Wait for the hunter group to find it for us. Or you want to find it yourself down there?”
“Are you mad?. Why would I want to put my neck on the line? I’d be dead if I ran into it.”
The chattering from other players who were waiting to take photos made Maysa quite annoyed. The big-eyed girl was being nervous mixed with many unexplainable feelings.
“Al, still no signals from him?”
“No, miss. Too many players are using the AI network and it causes the jamming to the party system. I am now trying to reach mister Wisana, as fast as possible.”
“This is bad. I even sent the guy voice messages, thinking that he would be able to hear them, well. Keep trying, Al,” she sounded more tense than usual.
“Yes, miss.”
Finished commanding her AI, the pair of grey eyes were searching in the crowd of players below, hoping that she would find the black hair of her party mate walking among them.
Maysa currently was on a ridge surrounded by some big rocks, making it look like the walls of this prison since players could see the scenery in the panorama from up here. And of course, this was the best spot for the photo quest, too, since it was safe from the fight that would probably occur down there.
Maysa was dying to find Wisana, but she did not know where and how. Why did the party system have to be down in such a worst time like this?!
And she would be very stupid to just wander around in the dungeon in the hope she might just run into him. No way!
“Damn, I'm going to knock his head when I see him! The guy really can’t be left alone and not make trouble!”
BOOM!!
She had not finished all the complaints yet when a blast quaked through the floor, almost causing her slim body to collapse.
“What’s happening?” Maysa swore softly.
“Hey! What was that? Is the boss coming out?”
“Yeah, I’m sure that was it. Let’s go find it before someone else gets the first blood!!”
It did not take long after the hunt team players below started bawling, getting their weapons ready, and running toward the source of the blast noise. A pair of beautiful grey eyes narrowed as they were gazing at the racked walls they were heading in, the center of the prison called ‘torture room.’
Wait, was it not that the last time she saw Wisana, he was walking around the torture room?
Oh, heck no....!!!
BOOM!!!!
Right at that moment, the tall stone wall exploded before her eyes. The loud noise came with many pieces of solid rocks bouncing off, dust, and smoke blowing all over the area.
Luckily, Maysa could get down before those rocks crashed on her in time. However, there were some players that got pierced in the face by the stone fragments, getting taken down right where they were standing.
GROWLL!!
A loud growl echoed through the walls again. Maysa held up her hands to cover her ears as the 18-meter-tall red monster showed up. Its face looked fierce like a dragon’s, its long spiky tail whipping left and right.
The demon of fire, Lord Inferno had appeared!
“There he is!! Let’s get him!!!” A voice shouted before many boss hunters were rushing towards the gigantic monster with the roar of the crowd encouraging them.
BOOM!!!
Lord Inferno only slashed his gigantic hand one time and that was enough to send the players, who Maysa was sure were all at least level 60, floating away like they were made of cotton.
That dude could blow dozens of level 60 players away with just one slap?!
No doubt that those commando players were all flung to the ground, lying motionless, before they could put up any fights.
“S... so savage.” A man standing by Maysa commented. He was holding up the camera to snap a shot but seeing this king of hell’s devastating damage made his hand go stiff in shock.
Actually, it was not just the guy, but also everyone was still in shock after witnessing this scene. Unlike Maysa, her brows were knitted together as she took an item out of her inventory immediately.
“Let me just scan and collect the information real quick, since this big bro is so tough.” She whispered softly to herself, putting on a pair of round glasses called ‘Scanner.’
Scanner, an item used to examine monsters’ abilities.

The information made her pretty face drop a sweat. Maysa slowly took off the glasses, her eyes staring at the fire monster, speechless.
If this big dude was undefeated then how were they going to defeat him?!
Since the monster could take down a stall of players in one hit like that, she guessed that only the GMs could stand a chance against him.
WAAARG!!
A terrifying scream was heard in the distance to Maysa’s ears, just a short while after those brave players all turned into dust. The thing was that this scream sounded kind of familiar to her.
“Leave me alone already! Go fight someone your size!!”
