Chapter 42: Who Can Talk?
Chapter 42: Who Can Talk?
Just like the ten wrestling books that he had read and learned from, it seems that the quality of these books was also made of very low-quality paper.
There were three books about how to fight with fists and with legs, so six in total, and as he scanned through them, he couldn't help but smile.
The first martial arts from the three books were similar to boxing, a very respectable and practical self-defence art that many practices back on earth.
It was far more practical than the martial arts that utilize kicks or wrestling because, for street fighting, the best thing to do is to punch where it hurts and run away.
However, he still couldn't figure out why they would suppress a martial art like this and implement more ineffective rather than bad ones that only strong people could use against opponents slightly weaker than them. What was the point of learning such martial arts?
He quickly scanned through the other three martial arts that involved only kicking, and once more, he wasn't disappointed; although one of the books looked slightly unrealistic to read, the other two seemed more grounded in truth and similar to the martial arts that boast in it's undisputed kicking techniques.
Two of the most popular ones are Tae Kwon Do, and Karate, both are considered the best martial arts to train in if you would like to improve in terms of kicks.
He lifted the books and dropped them in front of the librarian with a satisfied smile, "I would like to borrow these six books.
The librarian recorded six of the books before realizing three of them were missing, "Where is the complete martial arts?"
"I placed them back… It's not for me."

[At the Emerald Castle…]
"We just did a full fledged investigation in the whole city, with the budget that you gave us, I don't think we can do a search for the whole empire!" Angus, the oldest of the Emerald City Special forces, said.
"It's only been a whole day, how can you blow all the money I gave you all away!" Michael shouted, confused about how much money they had spent.
"Investigations take more money than you expect, especially investigations like this. We have already ordered the newsprint companies to print us a wanted sign of the impostor, to save some money."
"Ahh!!" Michael shouted as he threw his banana to the floor.
"Unless of course we get the cooperation of the Empire Bank to find the impostor, if we can see what he used the money on, we probably would be able to get him." Angus suggested.
"That's it! Do that!" Michael shouted, excited that finally, after shouting back and forth, they had gotten a clear goal.
"That's just the problem, is that the card that the impostor was using is an anonymous card, as soon as he stole it from you, he probably used the card knowing that the bank would not allow you to see the history of the transaction…"
Michael shook his head; his head was about to blow up, "I shouldn't have gotten that card…" He lifted his head towards Angus, "Do we have any other options?" He asked.
Angus and the other Special Forces shook their heads, "Well, no… we dont… We are stuck with this, unless of course you give us more budget to work with."
Michael slammed the table, "Damn it! Find someone who is good at negotiating and get them to agree to cooperate!"
"And who would that be?"
"Just get some noble… Say that we will owe them big time if they succeed.
Angus nodded before turning to one of the Emerald City guards that were near, "Hey, did you hear that, get out of there, find some nobles to convince them. Okay?"
And so they did; the Emerald City guard went from house to house on who they recognized as the best noble negotiator in the city and took a few before travelling to the Emerald City Empire Bank branch.
But almost immediately, the Emerald City guard that they sent came back, "Sir, they failed…"
Michael nearly burst out in flames but held it in, "I'll do it myself, bring me there."
For 30 minutes, they spent driving him there in the carriage, and as soon as they arrived, he didn't waste any time and immediately ran into the building.
The building was black, with a hint of gold, making the building just slightly more expensive to build.
"Sir Michael, how can we help you?" one of the receptionists approached them.
It was clear that they respected him, and it was also clear that they were trying to buy time and waste his time to avoid them trying so much.
"Can you just get me the manager! I need to talk to him, this is a matter of national security!" Michael shouted.
"I'm the manager, Sir…" The manager walked towards him, a lady whose face showed experience in this kind of situation.
"Good, now give me the records of the anonymous card!" He shouted.
She kept on smiling, "Sir there is a reason why the card is called the anonymous card. We keep that information secret."
"From who? Me and the Great Wizard are the owners of the card! Why should you withhold our information from us?"
"Sir, I hope you understand, we appreciate our customers' privacy and vow to give them the best protection we can."
"Look! I don't care about privacy, I want my information now!"
Despite Michael's screams, she kept on smiling, "It's our company's policy and handing that information will breach the policy."
"Just give it to me! I told you it is a matter of national security!"
She smiled once more. "Sir, I hope you understand, we appreciate our customers' privacy and vow to give them the best protection we can."
"Holy crap, am I talking to a parrot!???" He shouted before walking out, 'You guys want a guy who can talk? I'll give you a guy who can talk.
