Chapter 96
96 Tang Xuan
Rong Yue had resolutely left the black market the previous night without considering what was happening, as of today, just the news that she had cut two imperial jade from that store had their sales skyrocket and pass all of the ones from before.
As for the culprit, she was just getting back from her morning training when she saw Lu San standing outside the door.
“Is anything that matter?” She asked directly, not bothering with greetings.
“The equipments are all in order and the stones have been properly kept also,” he reported, clearly, he was here for his next line of duties.
“Okay, arrange a meeting with these three...” Rong Yue gave him a list of three people that she had interest in working with and then asked him to make some reservations.
Other than a manager, she also needed to meet with a designer that would have the same idea that she had and then meet with people that would deal with the marketing.
So all through the night, she had tasked the Little Loli with finding people that could fill out that role and request for a meeting with them.
Lu San nodded in understanding and left the house while Rong Yue went in to clean up.
Her qualifying exams were in a four days and she was going to meet with Wu Hao this morning to do some last revision, after that, she would meet all the people she needed to meet and then go to the warehouse to see what was happening.
.....
In summary, she had a very busy schedule and even Lu San being there to help was not enough to make things easy completely.
She hurriedly cleaned up and packed all the things she needed for the day before stepping out of her room.
“Yue’er, are you on bad terms with Qin Yichen?” Rong Xia asked as her daughter came out fully dressed and ready to go out some minutes later.
Hearing her mother’s words, Rong Yue’s brows furrowed slightly as she tried to remember the last time she had heard from him. Realizing that they had both not spoken since she left the capital ten days ago, she sighed in relief and plopped down on the dining table.
“What’s the matter?”
“We were talking yesterday and he said he called to be sure you were doing well since you haven’t been speaking to him,” Rong Xia said as she shot an accusatory look at her daughter while scooping food in her meal.
Speaking to him? She couldn’t even remember him sending her a message. Clearly, he had done this on purpose.
“Mother, have been very occupied with so many matters and I barely even get the time to think about myself, of course, I won’t have the time to talk to him also,” she whined, folding her arms across her chest so that she could win over her mother.
“Some people turn out to be more important than even the greatest riches, if you think a man like him being willing to accommodate you without minding anything is easy to find, then it’s only because you are still young, as you grow older, you will learn to realize that most people are only out for themselves,” Rong Xia advised, with all the things she had seen in movies, she could tell that Qin Yichen was trying to pursue her daughter who was hell bent on not reciprocating.
Rong Yue on the other hand was surprised that her mother could say something of this point and her eyes teared up greatly as she nodded.
It would seem that her mother was really getting better. The main point that her mother had said about Qin Yichen didn’t stick to her memory!
After breakfast, she gave her mom a quick kiss before leaving the house. Since Lu San was away handling some matters, she had to leave the estate with driver Yu who as usual dropped her off at the library that she and Wu Hao picked.
“You have lost quite the amount of weight. Aren’t you eating well?” Wu Hao asked as she entered the study space that he had already picked.
With her hair packed in a firm bun and her body hugging knitted top and skinny jeans, it was easy to see that she had lost a lot more weight than the last time he saw her which made him slightly concerned.
“There’s so much to do, even if I eat the whole world, the rest is the most important thing, also, I have been training my body recently,”
“Have you compiled the questions?” She asked, clearly attempting to steer the conversation away from that part.
“Here,”
The both of them spent the next two hours studying which was more of Rong Yue helping Wu Hao with the questions that he was struggling with.
At the same time, the little Loli booked several meetings for Rong Yue with all the people they had reached out too in the same restaurant.
With millions in her account already, she had enough money to invite a lot of these talents to work for her on the brand she wanted to create.
“We will see in three days time,” Wu Hao said, his expression was better and more relaxed now that he felt he had covered all the important parts.
“For this first stage, the important thing is to qualify for the capital exams, don’t try to be a dark horse yet,” Rong Yue told him before leaving the library to go to meet Lu San that was already waiting in the car park.
She was simply telling him to not put in his best! After all, if they managed to beat the students that were champions already in the country and come out on top, all eyes would be on them and they might even attract bad intentions.
It was always better to move steadily than rushing ahead.
“There are two meetings with the best two you picked in a restaurant close by here, you can grab lunch while at it,” Lu San said as she entered the car, he had fully taken on the role of being her personal assistant.
????????
The first person she was to meet was once a winner of top managers in A city and was still working with a food company, since she had experience that Rong Yue felt was close to what she needed, Rong Yue had felt the need to pick her, after all, the important thing was who had the better benefits to offer.
However, ten minutes to the agreed time and she was running late making Lu San slightly flustered as he checked the mail to be sure he had the time correctly.
Just as he was about to tell Rong Yue that it was the correct time, a woman in her thirties walked In through the door, from their vintage point upstairs, they could see her very clearly.
“She’s here already,” Rong Yue said calmly, her eyes, however, were completely focused on the woman’s every move.
“Welcome, miss Tang,” Rong Yue said politely as the woman was led in by the restaurant’s staff.
Tang Xuan looked at the young and out of the world beauty seated like a painting and then looked at Lu San, “I suppose you must be Mr Lu?” She asked, disregarding Rong Yue completely and Lu San nodded in agreement, however, the air around him dropped by several degrees at her blatant act of disrespect.
“You mentioned that you were only the assistant, where’s your boss?” Her tone and voice were laced in dissatisfaction and although Rong Yue felt that it would be impossible for her to work with her mother just by this attitude, she didn’t let any of her expression show on her face.
“This is my boss here,”
Tang Xuan looked at Rong Yue and then at Lu San before she let out a deriding chuckle, “ahh! Forgive my manners, I thought this was some assistant,”
“Are you representing your family little miss?” She asked as she finally sat down opposite Rong Yue.
“No, this is something that I would completely own, I would only expect that you use your skills to manage and help scale the business,”
Her eyes looked at Rong Yue and then nodded in satisfaction.
“You seem to know that I am one of the best in the industry, I do not have to mention that again, so any brand I take on needs to have a suitable plan, image and budget before I can do that. Let me see what you have,”
“Yes, I understand that you are one of the best in City A, however, my brand is a brand that would have its end users as their priority which is something I am sure you are incapable of,” Rong Yue started.
Her voice was low and calm, making her sound completely mature and confident in herself and even Tang Xuan had no choice than to listen.
“So to not waste your precious time, I would have to cut this meeting short by letting you know that you are not the right fit for us.”
Tang Xuan’s face went from red to white as she looked at the expressionless face that Rong Yue wore.
Although she had come in here like a boss, she had only agreed in the first place because her current company were struggling with their finances, also, the offer that Rong Yue had was extremely generous.
Her sole purpose of coming in like that was just because she wanted to have the upper hand in their relationship!
“Miss Tang, since she has made up her mind, we won’t be changing it, if you can excuse us,” Lu San said, standing up to show that he was ready to escort her if she didn’t make a move.
Tang Xuan on the other hand was still a woman with pride and so she stood up immediately, picking her bag and walking out with no words.
