Chapter 43
43 Scheming Against The Schemer
The moment Rong Yue entered the class, Tong Yang who had been waiting anxiously dragged her aside rudely.
“Yue’er, those works that you gave to me, who drew them?” She asked anxiously.
Through out the weekend, word had been spreading in their circle and she had even heard some people talk about it in class this morning.
Also, when she asked, her voice was a bit loud as she wanted other to hear.
Clearly, she had every intention of passing the blame to Rong Yue.
“Gave? I don’t recall giving you any work.” Rong Yue replied straight forwardly, her eyes shining with mirth as she looked at the cunny girl in front of her.
Tong Yang’s words got caught in her throat but out of desperation, she pressed forward.
“You have me some works previously, but they were with me when I went to the Art association and it turns out that they belonged to someone else.” She explained further.
“Why would you take the work I gave you like you claimed as someone else’s work if you know they aren’t yours?” Rong Yue asked again and Tong Yang panicked.
.....
Had Rong Yue heard about it also?
“Tong Yang, I don’t know what you are talking about but I do remember that I left some work in your place. And you said you would be out of town this weekend so I couldn’t pick it up. How is it that you were at the art association?” She countered while saying everything word for word.
“I said no such thing! You clearly told me that you owned them and gave me those works to use as I wanted.” Tong Yang yelled exasperated.
At this point, many students had come closer to them to hear what they were saying better.
That was the reaction Tong Yang wanted, after all, most of her classmates were also the people she had to relate with in their circle. If she could convince them, she had no much problem again.
“And so you took those works and claimed them as yours?” Although there was no difference in Rong Yue’s voice pitch or speed, she had a certain domineering look in her eyes that made Tong Yang falter immediately.
“I.... I didn’t.” She muttered weakly and helplessly.
“Because I had to explain to the senior that owned the work, I had placed her on the call when I asked you about it, this is exactly what you said.” As soon as she said that, she pulled out her phone and went to her file.
Tong Yang originally thought she wanted to show some messages that couldn’t be counted as proof, yet, the next thing she heard her own voice through the phone.
She felt like the ground was being swept off her feet.
“Rong Yue!!!!!” She yelled, struggling to hold on to her rationality.
For someone like her that valued her reputation and face more than anything, she had canceled the sleepover she had planned last minute making people that had been looking forward to it dissatisfied.
However, she came to school today with the thought that she could come to push the blame on Rong Yue, she had even brought the whole stack of painting.
She was certain that with the ‘Yue’ on it and her twisting things, it would be very easy for her to make Rong Yue take the blame.
Who would have thought that Rong Yue would be prepared for her and would be so eloquent also.
It was almost as if she knew what she was trying to do already!
Without another word, she grabbed her bag, threw the rolls of painting scrolls at Rong Yue and rushed out of the classroom.
Watching her rush away like that, Rong Yue was even more disgusted.
To think that she had fallen for the tricks of someone this weak.
She had really been too gullible.
After Tong Yang left, most of the students turned to Rong Yue, consoling her and also telling her about what happened at the art association.
“It’s okay, I already saw it and knew she was trying to put the blame on me.” Rong Yue told them honestly, after all, if people thought back to the matter, it would be easy to see that she had replied like someone that knew something ahead.
Also, she had been prepared for something like this, only, she had thought that Tong Yang would have more plans than that.
“You did? Where did you see it?” several of them had the same question after all, in this generation, not many people wanted to focus on things like art and all.
Their focus was always in the direction of media and entertainment. So they weren’t at the Art association and word of mouth was different from seeing it already.
Rong Yue brought out her phone and went to a link and showed them. She had previously hacked into that website and put the video there.
So many looked at it on their phone while some just went to the website directly and saved the videos.
In minutes, the school forum already had about fifteen people post the link while some directly uploaded the videos there.
Rong Yue on the other hand just sat in class, doing her best to study even in the noisy environment.
As the student chattered on, teacher Lu, their head teacher entered the class making all of them settle down hurriedly. Yet, when they had thought he was going to warn them about being noisy or something, he finally spoke up.
“Although progress is important but being honest and working hard is just as important. Even if this might seem like something to kick at while she’s down, you all must also focus on studying so that when the time for you to be tested comes, you won’t look for a quick way to be praised.....”
Since their first half period was for him, he used about fifteen minutes to guide them sincerely and also told them how to study better.
After he was done, most of them were no longer in the mood to play around and just sat down to study.
“Rong Yue, follow me to my office with the class president.” Teacher Lu said before leaving.
Everyone looked at Rong Yue curiously as she stood up but since the class president was also there, they felt it couldn’t be too much of a problem and focused on studying back.
