Chapter 26 Precursor To The Heaven’s Will Scheme
"Your name?" Neena asked, standing before the Aberrant-turned lady, condensing power in her hand.
"Litta," The Aberrant-turned lady replied in response, grunting in pain as her consciousness began to slip up.
But, it didn't matter as she was unable to move her body, for the sand covering her kept her immobile from the start. And with Neena solely focusing on restricting her body, she couldn't move.
"I'll see you in the next loop, Litta. Return stronger!" Neena said as her hands shone with a beam of Nacre, rapidly vaporising Litta into nothing, causing a large gorge to form on the ground due to the power behind the attack.
Neena then looked around, staring at the dense number of Aberrants in the city, amidst a mountain of corpses whose blood dyed the river—running through the city—a deep shade of crimson.
But the only response to such indiscriminate slaughter was a mild frown that had appeared on her face. Neena casually turned into a Whale as all the sand-covered Aberrants moved under her control, jumping into her mouth one after another.
In short intervals, the Whale pooped a mountainous sum, continuing to consume the Aberrants nonstop. In the matter of a few hours, all the Aberrants in the city had been wiped out, and left in the wake was a mountainous pile of Whale poop.
The corruption lingering in the city was gradually absorbed by the Whale poop and converted into Nacre, gradually purifying the city.
Neena didn't care about the place after that, watching a group of Mystic Humans arrive at the city as she stared at them, "Clean up the rest."
Following that, she returned to her human form and blasted off like a rocket, vanishing from the city.
"Was that…Neena?" A Stage 6 Mystic Human among the group that had arrived at Greire City muttered hesitantly.
"That was her indeed." The man that seemed to be in charge of their group nodded before he looked around at the sheer carnage that lay before them and the sand that seemed to be pretty much everywhere, "Let's not talk about her."
"She's an irritating one."
"Have you been…killed by her before?" The Stage 6 Mystic Human asked.
"Yeah, dozens of times, in fact." The man in charge of the group said, stating in anger, "Let's ignore her for the time being. She's a freaking Stage 8 Mystic Human. She's on a whole other level than us. It won't be possible to get back at her."
The man in charge of the group had once been Neena's colleague when their home world had yet to experience the apocalypse. And, things weren't exactly harmonious between them.
It could even be said that there was some bad blood between them.
And, things became worse soon after as Neena obtained a System, becoming Host to the Directional Misalignment System.
The Directional Misalignment System allowed Neena to control the movements of people to a certain extent. And using that, she took revenge in the most violent manner possible.
When her colleague—whom she hated—crossed the road, she would control their leg, causing them to suddenly take a couple of steps forward, making them slam into a moving vehicle, leading to their death.
And most of the time, the death of all her colleagues was through car accident. This didn't happen once or twice though, but dozens of times.
After all, their world looped, causing the same events to repeat, albeit with changes in every loop. But, one thing was consistent in them all—their deaths, by Neena.
Due to the speciality of their world, countless Systems had wreaked havoc in the various loops. And in all those loops, Neena was Host to the Directional Misalignment System.
And of course, the number of people she had taken revenge upon was in the thousands. But originally, none of them had any memories of the previous loops, including the System Hosts.
But once the PADS had been established, anyone at Stage 6 and above was able to access the memories of their past lives gradually, allowing them to live through the repeated horrors of humanity stretched taut in the apocalypse.
Things were quite contrasting in the PADS. The Mystic Humans at Stage 5 and below were loyal, almost bordering on being devoted to the Saints like Rhizen.
But those from Stage 6 were entirely different. They were mostly cold, calculating, and had hatred towards a lot of their fellow Mystic Humans.
But, a Mystic Human cannot act against another Mystic Human. This was one of the core rules that they must comply with. And if they failed to do so, they were punished severely.
After all, the Mystic Humans that were killed would revive once their home world loops again, allowing them to lodge a complaint and bring the matter to the court to seek justice.
Such offenders were stripped of their power and jailed, having to repeat the various loops in jail while being unaware of their crimes.
And depending on the severity of their crime, their sentence extended to the number of loops they have to spend in prison. It was a crime where one had to remain alone for extended durations, spanning lifetimes.
PADS had a lot of internal problems, some of them grave enough to collapse their entire organisation.
Just consider their three Saints—Rhizen, Straxia, and Warktor—for example.
Straxia had tried to kill Rhizen multiple times, even succeeding a few times. Rhizen had brutally slaughtered her and her life's work many times.
If they were to pick up the intense hatred between them, the conflict was enough to fracture PADS into two.
Thankfully, there was Warktor, a neutral party in almost all loops, the mesh between both sides.
Such a level of hatred existed in the entirety of their higher management, enough to spark conflicts. That was why Neena didn't even bat an eye at the slaughter that happened at Greire City.
After all, the Greire City Lord was someone she hated to the bone. This was why, once she was done with her assigned task, Neena returned to her city. She cared more about her own city's wellbeing than someone's that she detested.
Even though PADS had been established 62 years ago, its operating time was only 42 years. And that wasn't long for immortal beings like them that had lived for more than a millennium to set aside their hatred.
Even Rhizen was unaware as to when all these hidden problems might implode upon them. All he could do was ease up the situation as much as possible.
This was another reason for the creation of City Lords. Through this, Rhizen at least divided the people based on their inclination toward each other, at least splitting up those with intense hatred between each other into different worlds or regions.
"Saint, Greire City has been decimated. There are no survivors." Yulna paled in response, trembling as she conveyed the news, "It has been a brutal slaughter. Based on City Lord Neena's report, the enemy has obtained intelligence regarding Gallo and is planning to experiment with a way to kill us permanently."
"The Stage 6 Mystic Human named Litta was the one they experimented upon. Neena has already killed her." Yulna finished her report, detailing all the information that the team in Greire City has unearthed through their investigation.
"How did they infiltrate the city in the first place?" Rhizen frowned, "With the safe zone's barrier intact, they can't do this without making a breach forcefully. The Greire City Lord should have sensed it in advance if that were the case."
"We're still investigating that." Yulna said, giving her objective view on the matter, "I feel this is a retaliation from Apocalypse to counter our actions in Yalore Sea."
"Hmm…" Rhizen frowned, deep in thought as he stared at the map of the world before him, casually taking a dart that he threw without any aim, unaware of where it might even hit.
The dart arched in the air, slamming into a dart pierced into the map, causing cracks to form in it before splitting it into two.
In alarm, Rhizen shot up in shock, gazing at where the dart had hit to result in this damage, gritting his teeth as he muttered, "So, this is this plan."
Yonka City!
His eyes darted throughout the map, wondering where the attack might originate from that there was danger of his Pearl Buck—Tower of Purification—shattering. It was his Pearl Buck that acted as a gateway to bring in more Mystic Humans into this world.
Soon after, he recalled what the Geological Society had informed him before while he was making plans for the Yalore Sea, quickly gazing at an island far to the east, situated in the middle of the ocean.
"Gasker Island!" He exclaimed in shock, hurriedly making Yulna summon the Geological Society Director, shouting the moment he arrived, "Quick! Tell me the corruption concentration of Gasker Island now."
"Y-Yes!" The Geological Society Director contacted his team, hurriedly stating in response, "The monsoon season clouds arriving on the mainland from there have the same corruption concentration as usual. But the line of clouds is greater this time. There might be a typhoon along the coast."
"The typhoon might hit deeper inland this time." He concluded.
Rhizen tapped the desk, somewhat irritated as he thought of a plan, commanding everyone in the room, "Signal the Air Force to suit up while strengthening our defences."
"We'll be having an aerial battle this time."
