For the past four months, Terrance and his six Pokémon had been living a rigorous training life on Mt. Chimney and have reaped significant gains.

The reconstruction of the Old Green House into a Gym needed minimal involvement from Terrance. Ayan and the others also refrained from troubling him, allowing everything to proceed according to the initial plan. Now, Fallarbor Gym had finally received its official authorization from the Pokémon League.

Today was the official opening of Fallarbor Gym!

Fallarbor Town, located in a remote corner of Hoenn, was a small and obscure town, nothing more than a black dot on the map with little renown.

But now, no one dares to say Fallarbor Town is an unpopular small town. With the establishment of Pokémon Center, Pokémon Contest Hall, and the Gym, the town boasted facilities even some larger cities lacked.

Gym inheritance ceremony or a new Gym opening ceremony is generally just celebrations among acquaintances, with local residents coming to join the fun. However, this time, many visiting Trainers were gathered in Fallarbor Town which happened to coincide with the celebration.

A melodious and lofty cry rang out as Altaria’s regal form soared above Fallarbor Town, circling over the Fallarbor Gym. At the same time, a massive energy ball exploded in the sky, the loud sound caused by Altaria’s Draco Meteor!

The enormous energy ball exploded mid-air, turning into hundreds of radiant streaks that rained down like shooting stars, resembling fireworks painting the sky. The pale yellow energy beams filled the air, captivating the spectators. However as they descended, the beams dissipated one by one, transforming into a yellow halo that bathed the sky in warmth and beauty.

“Are those fireworks?” a female Trainer murmured to herself, gazing upward in wonder.

“No, it’s Altaria’s move. The Fallarbor Gym’s opening ceremony is about to begin,” the Trainer beside her remarked.

At this moment, inside the Pokémon Center, in residents’ homes, at the edge of town, countless people who witnessed this scene hurriedly began making their way toward the Old Green House, seemingly wanting to witness the official opening of the Fallarbor Gym.

As people flocked toward the Old Green House, the firework-like display in the sky didn’t disappear; instead, it grew even more grand and spectacular!

Boom!!

A brilliant light burst forth once more, with a swirl of multicolored radiance quickly emerging. Pop! A “blue flower” blossomed in the sky, unfolding its petals. It shattered into countless tiny snowflakes that danced in the air, suspended against the backdrop of golden halos. In an instant, the snowflakes faded and disappeared, leaving everything serene once again. But the fleeting beauty set the perfect prelude for the crackling electricity and roaring flames that followed amidst the halo.

The hidden Mismagius used Mystical Fire and Thunder Wave to create the lively scene. Meanwhile, Castform nestled within Altaria’s cotton feathers, controlled the snowflakes and lightning. Together, the Pokémon created a cascade of firework-like moves that erupted one after another in the sky, causing the people heading toward Fallarbor Gym to pause and marvel at the spectacle.

“If only it were nighttime—it would be perfect ~~”

Many sighed regretfully.

At this moment, Grandma Arlan, her wrinkled face filled with smiles, looked at the bustling children and felt a sense of fulfillment and joy.

To witness such an event at his age, Arlan felt he could ask for nothing more.

Outside, Myu and Rina were arranging the flowers and decorations to make Fallarbor Gym look dazzling.

Terrance was sitting in the Gym happily chatting with Inspector Aida sent by the Hoenn League.

“It’s time,” Aida said with a smile, offering congratulations. “The authorization ceremony is about to begin. Elite Four Glacia is already on her way to Fallarbor Town.”

The so-called authorization ceremony was a formal event where the Pokémon League representative publicly accepted the Badge template submitted by the Gym Leader. During the ceremony, the Gym Leader would take an oath, pose for photos, and officially assume the responsibilities and duties of a Gym Trainer.

A Gym is the symbol of a town and serves as its protective force. Although the Gym’s protection role has gradually been taken over by police in modern times, this tradition has endured.

Holding the authorization ceremony in front of the town’s residents serves as a motivation for the Gym Trainer as well.

By now, a crowd had gathered around Fallarbor Gym. Several Officer Jennys were present to maintain order and ensure no incidents occurred.

These Officer Jennys were also very surprised. Initially, they assumed that an authorization ceremony in a small town would only attract a few residents at most. However, the overwhelming crowd before them was truly unexpected. This job was not going to be easy.

The opening ceremony and the authorization ceremony were conducted simultaneously. In fact, the authorization ceremony was part of Fallarbor Gym’s opening ceremony. From the moment Terrance and an Officer Jenny stepped onto the makeshift stage, a group of paparazzi, who had long been hiding in the crowd, suddenly sprang into action, with cameras flashing wildly in a chaotic frenzy.

Glacia, dressed in a flowing purple gown and sporting luxurious golden curls, gracefully ascended the stage alongside a Nurse Joy, who was smiling and greeting the crowd.

The Joy and Jenny on stage were future key personnel, assigned to manage the Pokémon Center and the police station in Fallarbor Town.

This was Terrance’s first meeting with Glacia. Compared to Phoebe, Glacia’s frosty demeanor left a distinct impression on him

She was a powerful Trainer with a unique belief in her strength.

Offering a friendly handshake to Glacia, Terrance prepared for the authorization ceremony, which was finally about to begin under the watchful eyes of the crowd.

“I can’t believe it… he’s a Gym Trainer!”

“He’s about the same age as me!”

Among the Trainers who had traveled from afar to challenge Terrance, only a handful were stunned by the revelation of his Gym Trainer identity.

For most Trainers, young Gym Leaders were not uncommon, so they didn’t find it particularly surprising. However, there were a few who knew that the opening ceremony including an authorization ceremony signified that this was a brand-new Gym. Terrance is the first-generation Gym Leader, making him entirely different from Gym Trainers who inherited their Gyms from their seniors!

After all, not every Trainer understood the true strength required to qualify as a Gym Leader.

So, for those in the know, this made Terrance’s age and his identity as Gym Leader all the more astonishing.

“Although his title of Top Coordinator is impressive, it’s not awe-inspiring. Now it makes sense—his Gym Trainer identity is his true trump card.”
