Chapter 100
He didn’t know how to feel about that level of trust. She was saying that she would stake everything she had on the fact that he did not do anything illegal to make all that money. She would be right, and it wasn’t like she would actually lose anything. But this was still very dangerous. Social medias never forget things like this. If Han turned out to be a crook then Rin Woo would be an outcast for the rest of her life. Social bullying would never stop in her lifetime.
The fact that she could do something so dangerous for him made Han smile. This woman was just making him want her more and more.
The interviewer was silent for some time because she was also a bit shocked. It was very rare for a woman to swear on her honor for a man, and as a woman, the interviewer found this to be very surprising. She would not have done the same thing no matter what!
She ruffled the papers in her hands and cleared her throat.
[Well, I’m sure the viewers at home have their say in this as well. Instead, I would like to ask about the future plans your company has for AeroDynamicity and…]
Han tuned out the interview and looked back down at the girl sitting in front of him. They were almost done eating, so he didn’t have to stay here anymore. He needed to get back to his life.
He had to go to the company tomorrow and have that meeting with Hou Ren. But what would he do with this girl? He couldn’t just get rid of her… Right?
“Father… Are we going home now? You promised to take me home”
Han groaned. The waitress that he sent to get him another drink came back and put it on his table before looking at him.
“You have a very beautiful daughter, sir. But children shouldn’t stay out till this late. Maybe you should take her home so she can rest?”
She’s not my daughter!!!? Why didn’t they just believe him!?
In fact, Han wouldn’t even bother correcting the woman anymore because no one would believe him. The girl kept on calling him father so everyone around already thought she was his daughter.
Whatever! Just fuck it! Han gave up on getting rid of her! He would have to get a babysitter then, because there was no way he would be taking care of this little thing! He couldn’t just send her to an orphanage because he didn’t know what sort of thing Regulus did to her. She could be an Unchanged or something else. He didn’t want to make a mistake for now and send some sort of superhuman child to stay with other little children. That could end badly.
Han made his drink to go and then paid for everything. The two of them walked out of the restaurant and many people kept on looking at them because of how well they matched. Both Han and the girl had black hair and wore black clothes so they looked like a real family.
“Wow, what a nice father. He’s going out with his daughter like this”
“I wish he is a nice father, there are many bad fathers out there nowadays”
“Oh my goodness, is that his car!? He’s a rich father! I wonder if he’s single!? I don’t mind becoming a mummy!”
Things like this were being said around the restaurant as Han got to the Ferrari and opened it for the girl to enter, she sat down in the passenger seat and he moved to his own seat and finally drove off.
When Han got home, he found Rina’s car was parked in front of his apartment building. He quickly used his [Eyes of Horos] to look up and saw that she was sitting in front of his TV and waiting for him. This time she was playing a new video game that had just come out. Super Smash Bros – The Sequel.
He looked down at the girl with him and tried to prepare himself before entering. There was no way his sister wouldn’t complain about this girl. She never even met her before so it would be very strange for him to suddenly bring home a child.
What sort of excuse could he give for this?
The small girl looked up at him with a plain expression and Han hummed.
Ten minutes later. Han was sitting on a couch in his house while Rina was standing to one side with her hands folded. She had her eyes fixed on her brother with a curious look.
“So what you’re saying…” She began slowly, “Is that you found a child on the streets and decided to take care of her? Han, don’t you know that this could be someone’s child!?”
Han crossed his hand and leaned back.
“I kept asking around for her family but no one knew anything about her. I even went to the police station to see if anybody put up a missing child report but there was nothing. So I brought her home for now.”
Rina knelt down to the child’s height and took her by the shoulder. The girl was so cute, no wonder Han couldn’t just leave her alone. But why would anybody want to abandon their child like that?
Han saw how Rina was already becoming protective of the girl and he chuckled internally. Girls were always the same no matter what. Only a few pouts from a cute child would make them want to protect that child. They could never beat that motherly instinct, could they?
“What’s your name little cutie? Do you know where your mummy is? Or your daddy?”
The girl tilted her head to one side before she nodded and pointed to Han.
“Daddy said I’m Yue,”
Han looked away from the sudden stare Rina gave him. Nope, he wasn’t going to talk about that. He knew she needed a name so he had to give her one, but she just started calling me father without my permission, so don’t think it’s my fault!
“Anyway, where’s Lily? I haven’t seen her in a while”
Han tried to change the topic quickly and Rina glared at him at his question. But it was actually true. She didn’t see Lily when she came back now. Where did she go to?
.
The studio where Rin Woo was taking her interview didn’t finish their questions until late that night. Rin Woo walked out of the building tiredly after everything while stretching her arms above her head. That was a long day! How come nobody ever told her that there was so much work in an interview!?
She could finally go home and get some rest now.
She checked her phone on her way to her car and she saw a missed call from Han. Rin Woo glared at her phone like it was Han! This man thought he could just leave all this work for her without her being angry? And she still had to go to the office tomorrow! What kind of work was so important that he couldn’t come to the interview?
Rin shut her phone down after sending back a short message. She was still Han’s employee so there was no way she could ignore his call. Maybe when she was calm she would call Han back to talk. She got into her car and tried to turn it on to drive off but she stopped as a sudden cold wind blew past her.
That was weird. Rin Woo breathed out and her breath came out in a white puff of air. Why was it so cold in here? Did she leave the AC on?
Rin reached for the AC to turn it off but she was surprised when she found it was already off. Then why was it so cold in here?
The car suddenly started filling up with a cloud of white smoke and Rin Woo leaned back from it in shock. What was this!? She reached towards the side to open the door but she hissed as she felt something cold against the door handle. Was that ice!? It was frozen!
Rin Woo was starting to get scared. Her heart rate was growing frantic as she leaned back in her seat! Wait. What was that in the mirror?
Rin Woo suddenly saw something blue in her rearview mirror! Someone was looking at her from the rear seat!
“Hello, Rin…”
Rin Woo screamed.
Slam!!
