Chapter 81

Chapter 81: Toying with the Goddess

The Eternal Queen Marika stared at Qin Xian in shock, her body trembling with an unfamiliar fear. The moment she realized that her world’s laws had no effect on him, she knew he wasn’t a pure human.

Instead, he bore the blood of the Void—a terrifying lineage that made her heart sink. The World Essence, the very foundation of her realm, imposed order on all beings within it. Except for those tainted by the Void.

The Void, a malevolent race that feasts upon the essence of worlds, was the only force immune to its laws. This immunity explained why countless realms had fallen to Void invasions, unable to repel their relentless advance.

But Marika never imagined that Qin Xian could be the progeny of the Dread Empress—the successor of the First Court of the Void!

The Void Empress, also known as the Queen of Abyss or the Overlord of the Void, was the most feared ruler of the Void. Across eons, her very name had been a nightmare for gods and mortals alike, bringing despair wherever it echoed.

She had devoured the life essence of countless worlds, leaving barren, desolate wastelands in her wake, inhospitable even to the creatures of the Void.

It was said that innumerable gods had been swallowed by her, and their souls enslaved, transformed into twisted Void creatures in her court.

The ancient empire that once thrived under Marika and the gods had been driven to ruin by the invasion of the Third Court’s Dreadlord, Khorne.

Though all seven Void Courts were formidable, the First Court reigned supreme, with the Abyss Empress at its helm as the mightiest of all Void horrors.

Marika now understood the gravity of her mistake. Qin Xian, she realized, was not only the scion of the powerful Qin family—one of humanity’s twelve Founders—but also bore the blood of the First Court.

The uncomfortable feeling she had when she first saw him wasn’t due to his cold nature, but because he carried the essence of the Void within him.

Qin Xian didn’t hide it any longer. As he fully embraced his second class, the Void Overlord, a gleam of hunger flickered in his gaze, directed at the World Essence in Marika’s hand.

For Void beings, particularly a Void Overlord, a World Essence was the ultimate feast, an unparalleled source of power. His mother, the Dread Empress, had devoured the essences of dozens of worlds, wiping entire realms from existence.

Seeing Qin Xian’s transformation, Marika’s expression grew grim. She knew all too well the overwhelming power of a Void Overlord. Even in his nascent form, Qin Xian was a force beyond her reckoning.

With the advancement made possible by the Divine Revelation system, Qin Xian’s growth potential as a Void Overlord was unthinkable, a terrifying prospect she could hardly fathom.

Marika cursed her own folly for bringing him to this realm, to the very heart of her world’s power. Without the power of the World Essence to restrain him, she was defenseless against him.

Her voice trembled with reluctant awe. “So, from the beginning, your true target was the World Essence itself? No matter if we blessed you or not, you would have taken it by force.”

Qin Xian’s cold smile held no warmth. “Correct. From the moment I entered this realm, your fates were already sealed.”

Biting back her fear, Marika summoned her divine power, conjuring projections of countless stars that formed a mighty force surging toward Qin Xian. But her power crumbled before him, overpowered by his unyielding might as a Void Overlord.

He snapped his fingers, and suddenly, a myriad of void fissures appeared around Marika. Out from the dark crevices snaked countless Void tendrils, which ensnared her limbs, forcing her into a position of utter humiliation.

“Release me!” Marika’s face flushed with shame, her eyes blazing with indignation.

She was the creator god of this world, revered as a noble, sacred queen, and yet now she was trapped in a disgraceful posture, powerless against his whims.

Qin Xian looked down at her bound form, his gaze unwavering and indifferent. Extending a single finger, he traced it along her form, prompting her to shudder, suppressing a gasp.

Throughout her existence, no one had ever dared approach her like this—let alone violate her dignity in such a way.

This image, unthinkable for most, was enough to drive any onlooker mad. But Qin Xian’s face remained emotionless, his eyes reflecting only a detached indifference.

“You should be grateful for my mercy, Marika,” he remarked coolly. “Killing you would be a waste.”

A twisted gleam flickered in his eyes as he revealed a small, sinister-looking seed, radiating a dark, malevolent energy.

【Ancient God’s Curse】: Corrupts a weakened deity, enslaving its soul and binding it to eternal servitude.

The Ancient God’s Curse was an ability of the Void Empress, one she used to subjugate countless gods. As her heir, Qin Xian had inherited the same power upon awakening his Void Overlord form.
