Chapter 64 - Gods
Chapter 64: Gods
Normally, when monsters die, their bodies either remain as corpses, which can be harvested for materials using crafting skills, or they directly drop loot and their bodies disappear as they are converted into data.
However, when these Corrupted Demon Wolves died, even though they dropped loot and their bodies disappeared as expected, Qin Xian noticed something peculiar.
The Void energy lingering in the air didn’t dissipate—it converged, gathering toward a specific location.
This was something that almost no one else would have detected. Only Qin Xian, with his second class, Void Overlord, had such a deep mastery over Void energy that he could sense it.
Moreover, Qin Xian could feel that somewhere within Shattered Heaven, a terrifying entity born of the Void was beginning to awaken.
His eyes narrowed slightly. It seemed that humanity’s understanding of Shattered Heaven wasn’t as deep as they thought.
Still, Qin Xian wasn’t planning to investigate this anomaly right now. After all, as long as the monsters were Void-type, he was practically invincible in this dungeon.
As a Void Overlord, he stood at the very peak of the Void’s food chain. Even Void Warlords and Void Lords were beneath him—mere sustenance. Only the most terrifying entities of the Void were on the same level as him.
Though his current level wasn’t high, meaning he was still in the “juvenile” stage of his class, even as a juvenile Void Overlord, his very presence imposed a bloodline suppression over other Void creatures.
For now, Qin Xian’s focus was still on growing stronger. It had to be said, Shattered Heaven was truly worthy of the global attention it had garnered. The experience gain here was phenomenal!
In just a few hours, Qin Xian had already leveled up once, reaching level 22! Qin Li had gained two levels as well. Not to mention, the area was littered with blue and purple materials, though Qin Xian didn’t care about those and distributed them among his subordinates.
In addition, the Elite Corrupted Demon Wolves had appeared in force—more than twenty of them had been hunted down by Qin Xian and his team, granting him an additional 300 attribute points.
It was only in Shattered Heaven that these Elite Corrupted Demon Wolves were just level 25. Hunting 20 elite Void monsters on the Void frontlines wouldn’t have been nearly as easy.
In just a few short hours, Qin Xian could visibly feel his strength increasing. His power had nearly doubled compared to before!
But the stronger he became, the more Qin Xian craved even more power. For him, wealth and beauty were mere distractions. What truly fascinated him was this feeling of growing stronger, the sensation of watching his attribute points rise.
By now, the Void monsters on this plain had been completely wiped out. The global leaderboard indicated that the world’s Purification Level had reached 14%, showing that other teams were also relentlessly hunting monsters.
—
Deep within the heart of Shattered Heaven lay a strange and sacred dimension.
This space was bathed in holy light, with majestic temples floating in mid-air, grand and awe-inspiring, exuding divine radiance.
Inside one of these temples stood a gathering of towering figures, each surrounding a large circular mirror. On the surface of this mirror, the teams that had entered Shattered Heaven were displayed.
At the forefront of the gathering was a beautiful female deity with a compassionate and sorrowful expression, a figure that would stir reverence in anyone who looked upon her. She was Marika, the Eternal Goddess and the leader of the ancient gods in Shattered Heaven.
Behind her stood a group of gods, each radiating their own terrifying aura of authority.
“These human professionals seem stronger than the last batch,” Marika said softly, her expression filled with a sense of reflection. “It appears that in the past twenty years, humanity has continued to grow stronger.”
Her voice was gentle, carrying an undertone of sorrow.
“The Apocalypse chose this world, and humanity has unlocked the power of data transformation. It’s an advantage unmatched by any other race. They now possess the most efficient and perfect evolutionary system in the universe…”
Beside Marika stood a war god, his muscular body rippling with power. He grunted in displeasure, “The Apocalypse abandoned us and chose humanity instead.”
Marika shook her head and replied quietly, “If not for the Apocalypse, our world would have been completely destroyed by now. It’s only thanks to the Apocalypse that we’re still alive, and that our world holds onto a sliver of hope.”
Her gaze was filled with sorrow as she looked out over the shattered remnants of the world.
This was the world she had personally created, and the empire that had been built by her faithful followers. But when the Void invaded, she had been powerless to stop it, forced to watch as the Void consumed everything.
Had it not been for the intervention of the Apocalypse in the final hour, she would likely have been enslaved by the Void, reduced to a mere false god.
Even now, though she was still alive, most of her divine power had been lost. She was trapped in this dungeon, lingering in the last vestiges of her world, waiting…
Waiting for the arrival of the prophesied one.
