Pause System: Harem In The Apocalypse

172 Chapter 171

Swords and spears, two of each coming from four different commoner horned ones. They made their move.

The Kessho who saw this, shut his red eyes and yawned.

Kylo's eyes widened, as he noticed veins bulged out all over the arm which he was holding the bat.

[Strength Amplification: Two fold.]

The muscles in his arms hardened, he swung his bat horizontally at the four before him.

They were mid-air, and her thrust their weapons forward.

But in just a split second.

*Crunch*

The bat crashed right into them, starting from the one on the left all the way to the one on the right as he swung it.

From just that one swing, Kylo felt a burst of air slam against their face, but not once did he blink as the five which were just ahead of him were crippled in just a single hit.

They were rammed right out of the ship, their body completely disfigured.

"Ah, so that's your mother." The Kessho muttered with a chuckle as he licked his lips. "As thanks for that trick you pulled, I'll make sure to give her another child after I kill the two of you."

Hearing this, Lara's eyes widened, she stretched her arm out, to grab both Kylo and Lita to stop them and get them away.

But she was only able to grab Lita, as Kylo had leapt forward at the Kessho.

"Kylo!!!" Lara cried out.

Despite doing so, Kylo couldn't hear it.

After all, he had snapped.

-Memory

"Gray, I saw you sneaking off with Ruby, what did you two-"

Gray interrupted him right before he could say anything else.

"Kylo, you're a really smart and talented kid." Said Gray as he gave him a pat.

It was the night of the festival, after everyone was fast asleep and tired from playing around.

Kylo and Gray were the only ones up.

"Why are you changing the-"

Gray interrupted again - "I think it was around your age, if not slightly younger when I lost my parents."

"We're heading back tomorrow... But before that, I wanted to tell you something."

Gray smiled brightly at Kylo before staring up at the starry sky, the two moons in this new world shone brightly as always.

"Lita and Lara, your mother and sister... We don't know what to expect when we head back, but no matter what, you have to keep your family safe, alright?"

Gray placed his palm on his face.

"You've gotten a lot stronger compared to when I first met you, make sure you do whatever you can so that you don't end up like me... Alright?"

Kylo was taken aback, he knew Gray was trying to change the subject, but he didn't know why he was being so talkative.

Gray would usually avoid talking as a whole, he'd always look so dark and empty.

But for the first time today, Gray felt a little more human.

'It's probably because of the festival... Maybe Ruby too? I wonder what they did...'

"...I- Alright... But why are you suddenly telling me this?"

Gray smiled bitterly at Kylo before rubbing his hair and messing it up.

"Because you're a lot more mature than I was and I just remembered something... Annoying."

"It's not because you're trying to change the subject is it?" Kylo asked with narrowed eyes.

"Stop trying to ruin the moment." Said Gray as he stared back with his eyes also narrowed.

The two stared at each other for a while before laughing.

For as long as Kylo could remember, since the apocalypse began Gray was someone he could look up to.

He smiled slightly, even if Gray messed up his hair, after all Gray was like an older brother to him.

-Memory End.

'Keeping them safe... You didn't have to tell me that... If it's for them, I'd do anything.' Kylo thought to himself.

"Someone please stop him!" Lara cried out as she stretched out her hand towards him.

"Stop him...? How exactly are we meant to do that...?" The horned one on the ground beside her asked.

"There's no need for it mother..." Lita muttered as she watched.

The sight unveiling before them was a shock to them all.

A fight which everyone would have thought would end in one attack, was lasting way longer than any of them could have expected.

Kylo's was dashing left and right, avoiding the Kessho's heavy swing as he moved at unparalleled speeds.

[Wind Manipulation: Wind Dash.]

The flow of air was on Kylo's side, the wind made was speeding him up, allowing him to make movements someone of his size could only dream of.

A sphere of wind was manifesting around the Kessho, Kylo was moving throughout and around this wind sphere, attacking him from all angles. A wind cage which he was entrapped within.

[Wind Manipulation: Dance Of The Wind Spirit.]

The Kessho swung his bat horizontally and diagonally towards Kylo, but none of them had come even close to grazing him.

On the other hand.

*WHAM!* *BAM!* *POW!*

With every attack dodged, Kylo would step in before kicking and punching at the Kessho's vital points.

Kylo was fast, just keeping up with him was taking everything they had.

He had gone above and beyond any of their expectation's.

'That's... My son...?' Lara questioned, failing to believe her eyes.

Kylo was pushing the tall and bulk Kessho back.

Or at least that's what it seemed.

In terms of injuries being dealt, not a single scratch could be seen on the Kessho's figure. The only noticeable change was how much more pissed off he was getting.

His entire head had gone red from anger, to him Kylo was like a moving mosquito, just chipping away at his patience.

But he knew Kylo wouldn't be able to keep up this barrage of attacks forever.

So he put up his guard and waited.

'Damn it! I'm not injuring him! What would Gray do in this case?!' Kylo wondered.

From just that one thought, that hesitation as he thought that his attack pattern was ineffective, Kylo had failed to notice the Kessho had cracked his attack pattern.

Just that one failure ended up being detrimental.

Upon doing his dash, Kylo's eyes widened.

His eyes reflected a large metal bat heading right at him, that was all he could see.

'CRAP! I MISS-STEPPED!'

It was too late to dodge.

"KYLO!!!" Lara screamed out.

*WHAM!!!*
