Chapter 1707: War Within The Void (5)

"Hello there."

Caked by earthy dust, an innocent smile was exposed to the five generational geniuses within the cultivation base limiting Shell World. His soft, youthful voice completely defied his physically dominant appearance as a muscly titan. More importantly, his cultivation was pathetically low in their eyes, only at the Seventh Stage of the Astral Core Realm, the Realm World Phase.

They all stopped their violent confrontations and complex tactics, strategies, and execution of arts, spells, and armaments; Cao Zhulian of Serene Mountain Sect, Sui You of the Void Hunter Crew—the Violet Breath, Wei Yinan of the Void Pirates' Seventh Wave Pirates, Chen Minghui of the Seeking Profound Palace, the youngest Alchemic Knight of Exalted World-Saint Azureriver Lu Xuanyu, and the newcomer Wei Si of Red Dove City all exchanged silent stares amidst the chaotic fluctuations of rampant energies and turbulent mana.

Despite their confusion, Wei Si was by far the most out of place amongst this group of talented cultivators. They all had great and terrifying cultivation bases at the Mystic Ascendant Realm's Sixth Stage, the Heavenly Saint Phase, and possessed unfathomably grand powers of the Mystic Dao that could awe galaxies and inspire admiration and jealousy. Meanwhile, Wei Si was a muscly titan who was as mortal as mortal could be.

Yet the most shocking fact was that this hulking mass of muscle had been thrown into this battlefield that was situated within the chaotically dangerous region of the Void-Blank Space between galaxies from outside which had the protection of a jointly conjured barrier and under the watchful eyes of their respective forces.

Despite their cultivation bases and varying degrees of intelligence, none of them could reason out how this was remotely possible or why!

Witnessing his innocent smile and greeting upon his unexpected arrival, Wei Yinan's eyes brightened. While Wei Si was a mortal, his sturdy and tall physique was quite fitting to her taste despite her petite figure that was marred in scars and inadvertently enticing with exposed legs, feet, and arms. She contemplated recruiting him as a member of the Seventh Waves Pirates, completely ignoring the fact that this entire situation was odd. She was only thinking simply and honestly with her earnest heart and desires.

Holding her tomahawks tightly in her hands' grips while remaining vigilant of the other four, she shouted in mortal language at the newly arrived Wei Si:

"Oi! Big handsome guy, how did you get in here?"

"Hm?" Wei Si heard that question and scratched his bald head with his left hand. He looked around at each of the five that floated in the sky, each pulsating with mystic power, emitting traces of Heavenly Radiance, and exerting Worldly Pressure. He blinked.

"I was thrown in here by my cousin's order," Wei Si straightforwardly admitted. Wei Wuyin had given the order for him to be tossed in here, and Pakhet followed through in an instant.

"Cousin?" Cao Zhulian furrowed his thick brows as those lime-green eyes of his glowed with heavenly light. He didn't believe Wei Si was ordinary, yet his Spiritual Sense and Ocular Spell of Discernment were only capable of gathering that this newcomer was a mortal Realmlord.

"..." This entire situation was becoming increasingly odd, especially from the reports they received earlier regarding the changing situation outside. Moreover, they hadn't gotten any new information or reports regarding the barrier outside being sundered or a person being thrown in. Unfortunately, those outside were occupied with the immediate threat of four Sages. How could they have time to make any sort of report when they were actively running away, establishing defenses, or being killed?

"Who's your cousin?!" Lu Xuanyu interrogated as he spat out a mouthful of dark blood that had congested his chest. He wanted to find out the background of this simple-looking titan.

Wei Si blinked his beady eyes. He wasn't ignorant of the principles of cultivators, and he had been taught many by Wei Wuyin, including to never reveal your identity carelessly when conducting certain…business. For example, seeking fortune. When backgrounds and origins become involved, the situation becomes increasingly complex, so it was best to simplify it from the beginning and take it for what it was—a competition for fortune.

Then, he looked at the sky, at the very center of the world, discovering the earthen light descending upon the Shell World, transforming the various energies into earthen material. It was this transformed earth that he had crashed against. It was a tiny planet encased by dense earth littered with tiny mountain ranges.

The Edict Seed of Earth!

He had actively listened to Wei Wuyin and the discussion of the Sages before being sent here, so he was fully aware of his purpose. Moreover, Wei Wuyin had sent him a few reminders so that he wouldn't forget while they were blitzing through the tunnel, including some information regarding the number within and their cultivation. While his voice was authoritative and direct, there was also a warmth within when he warned him, and later informed him that if he needed to retreat, simply using the escape formation imprinted in the void ring would be enough.

Seeing how Wei Si's attention had shifted, Chen Minghui, the one renowned as the Faceless Scholar, said in a deep, wizened voice unbefitting his age:

"He's here for the seed."

"..." They were all intelligent, and while Wei Si was an abnormality, his presence, and descent here from beyond meant he was here with a purpose. This was why they never asked what he was here for, only how he got here and who sent him here. Chen Minghui was only reminding them, and this served to elevate their vigilance.

"Oy! Big Handsome, how about we team up? I'll be sure to protect you."

Wei Yinan was uncertain as to why she was making this offer to a mere mortal, but she followed her heart as a pirate, cultivator, and woman, and her intuition had been her greatest asset in life, so she immediately threw out this offer to Wei Si who was only a mortal.

Wei Si's eyebrows lifted high as he rubbed his head with one hand and pointed at himself with the other.

"Me?"

"Yes, you!" Wei Yinan replied with a hearty chuckle. Her carefree demeanor was unrestrained and pure despite the sheer savagery displayed and murderous aura she emitted just a few seconds prior. She genuinely found Wei Si's innocence refreshing.

The other four were uncertain what Wei Yinan was trying to do by teaming up with a mortal to protect him who would be a heavy burden in a battle of their caliber, but they waited and observed as they accumulated their power and recovered from their injuries with various subtle recovery arts and spells.

Wei Si eyed this short and petite woman curiously. Then, he gave her a thumbs-up and a big, bright, and boisterous smile.

"Oh? You can smile big! Good! Good!" Wei Yinan laughed as her eyes slowly grew increasingly fierce, regaining her former aura of violence, but Wei Si's next words caused her to lose her gathered momentum in an instant.

"You're a good person with good eyes! I won't kill you while we're fighting. I'll take you to my cousin instead. He'll like you," Wei Si nodded to himself and said confidently.

"...?" Wei Yinan was stunned and nearly lost grip of her tomahawks. Not only did he indirectly decline, but he was claiming words that he would spare her? Did he plan to fight her regardless of her offer?!

"..." Chen Minghui's aura tensed as he held the edges of his book a little tighter. Sui You's slender eyebrows furrowed and her sharp eyes narrowed. Cao Zhulian clenched his fists tightly. Lu Xuanyu took a deep, steady breath. Not a single one of them lowered their vigilance, and they eyed Wei Si to observe what he was going to do.

Wei Si's big smile faded away.

All of their heart rates instinctively started rising, Wei Yinan especially.

The entire ambiance of the world changed, becoming tense and discomforting to the soul, will, and body. A distinct heaviness permeated the world, and a feeling of deadly crisis repeatedly echoed out from their Mystic Souls.

WARNINGS!

Wei Si took a step forward on the earth.

BOOM!

The entire Shell World trembled.

They all realized Wei Si's identity from that first step—Juggernaut.

In the cultivation world, there were distinctions of cultivators based on their core cultivation path and there were many deviations. For example, a cultivator that focuses on primarily enhancing their Spiritual Strength, Spiritual Energies, and Spiritual Aura, like Nepri or Bluecloud were Spiritual Cultivators.

In the same vein, a cultivator that focuses on primarily enhancing their physical energies and refining, tempering, and improving their physical bodies were Martial Cultivators, and if it was mental energies, then they would be referred to as Scholarly Cultivators like Zhangjie Wushu and Chen Minghui. These cultivators' essential foundation was essence, the very fundamentals of cultivation, and they all simply had paths that leaned further down one of the three core energies—Mental, Physical, and Spiritual.

These titles were very simple and easily understood, while there were further deviations and often extremes to a single path. For Spiritual Cultivators, they could transform almost the entirety of their cultivation base into Spiritual Essence and Spiritual Energy, becoming living embodiments that resembled Spirits of Cultivation. They were widely feared by cultivators of almost every society and called Spiritualists!

But similarly, if there was a Spiritual Path of Extremism, there was bound to be a physical equivalent.

And that was: Juggernauts!

They were beings of pure physical power that exceeded common sense, a true inexorable force that crushes everything with their raw strength and devastatingly irresistible might.

This was the assumption each of them made the instant Wei Si took that single step, meaning his outward cultivation base was unable to exactly quantify his strength due to the difficulty of measuring physique or raw strength relative to cultivation.

Of course, they weren't wrong or right!

Wei Si was a Spartan!

BOOOOOOSH!!!

A second step caused space to still and then the mana throughout the Shell World to explode, sending out waves of deafening sounds and gusting winds!

"Watch out!" Chen Minghui cried out. He began to read from his book but his words were too slow given his warning.

Sui You's pupils dilated as her entire body roared defiantly against the arriving crisis. She wielded her sword valiantly and unyieldingly, slicing at the hulking man barreling towards her while leaving a wake of destroyed space and shattered time. She resorted to instinct, relying on her strongest offense to provide the greatest defense.

She slashed forth with her sword seeking to split apart that soaring figure! Her sword light was sharp and torrential like a waterfall of swords daring to descend upon a mountain!

"SUI YOU!!" Chen Minghui, behind his faceless mask, shouted as his mystical words remained unfinished.

They all saw a truly unfathomable scene.

Wei Si's body was like a hurtling planet as he smashed against the waterfall of sword light. The sword light shattered as he barreled forward with his physical body, directly crashing into Sui You without any embellishment.

A streak of blood tainted the void as a body flew back in a single blink of Sage's eye, slamming against the Shell World's boundary, and generating a heart-chilling sound of shattered bones and crushed flesh.

When they turned to see Sui You's body, to see her fate, they only saw a splat on the boundary of meshed bits of crushed bones, white-colored blood, once tender flesh, tatters of a violet robe, and fragments of a once peerless sword.
