Paragon of Death

Chapter 86

86 Chapter 85: Summoned again

Damon remained silent as he pondered on Kyle’s words. Thinking about it, the blood clan is far more capable than he is made to believe. They are strong enough to exist at the center of four strong kingdoms, yet they have never fallen.

Not even once!

They are not a foe that can be taken down so easily. In fact, without the presence of the Archmage Kratos and the son of heaven and maybe the three great Dukes of the kingdom, winning against this foe would be extremely difficult, if not impossible. The only explanation is that the major races of the continent have unanimously agreed to destroy the blood clan once and for all.

“You think I am strong? Wait till you see what an elf vampire or an orc vampire can do, then you will really feel terrified!” Kyle laughed as he spat out a mouthful of blood.

He could see the stake in Damon’s hands but he didn’t show any intentions of struggling. His eyes were blind to everything else around him and all he could see was Damon’s face.

“You still have the strength to fight, yet you choose not to?” Damon asked with a raised eyebrow and Kyle laughed at his words and shook his head.

“Take a good look around does this look like a fight I can win? Even if I kill you, I don’t think I can escape from Tristan Hail... since this is an operation, given out by the son of heaven, I cannot fight against it... I have lost here and I will die here but you will lose when you go to the central plains... the blood clan is not something you all can deal with. The first blood is too strong. You can’t even begin to imagine what to expect of there.” Kyle said.

Puff!

Blood squirted out violently as Damon pushed the stake down the chest of the enemy with a heavy look on his face. He seemed disappointed by everything that happened so far. His battle with this enemy has been one filled with hesitation.

.....

This is not what he expected!

“Aaaahhh!”

A painful cry resonated from the skies as a lady fell from the skies. Behind her were five black and grey fox tails. Not too far from her location was Tristan who stood on the ground with a disdainful look on his face.

“We are both at the champion realm yet I still find it amusing that you dare exchange blows with me. Your race can never compete with mine... we have proven that over and over again. If it weren’t for the son of heaven insisting on keeping you alive due to the profit your business brings to the capital, I would have killed you a long time ago” Tristan said disdainfully.

From the corner of his eyes, he could see Damon sitting beside the corpse of the main target and he mentally nodded.

So far, Damon has failed to disappoint him. In fact, his breakthrough into the warrior realm as a mage was unexpected so they have more to teach him now.

While the human realm can be considered the beginning of everything. Normal humans with the abilities of the element but are limited to the most basic level. The warrior realm can be considered the first step forward in life as a cultivator in this world. It is a critical point they definitely can’t rush if not, Damon may end up regretting it in the future.

“He is dead now... Take your people and leave!” Sabrina said as her disheveled hair dangled around.

Since the main person she chose to protect is dead, she couldn’t afford to fight anymore. In fact, by fighting Tristan and protecting the enemy, she may even end up, gaining the attention of the son of heaven.

Unwanted attention, he didn’t need it right now.

............

The battle ended with the death of all the vampires in the capital. Strangely, Damon was able to notice that this operation was not taking place in the capital alone but also other parts of the kingdom. It seems the various races of this continent were really serious about wiping out the blood clan.

“Congrats! I didn’t think the power of the lone wolf also affects the cultivation base of mages” Duke Hail said as he opened up a bottle of one of his finest wine.

“A child went through an immense battle where he ended up killing a good number of the enemy forces. He may be traumatized and you bring wine?” Dennis Hail said calmly while gazing at Damon.

“I think my growth as a mage was triggered by my breakthrough as a werewolf... I won’t be expecting it much from now” Damon said calmly and others nodded without asking many questions. It felt like they trusted him already.

Even if no one was there to take into account his bravery in battle, the tattoos all over his shoulders were more than enough to speak fot him. Damon’s achievements in battle far surpassed their expectations so a hint of respect can be noticed in their tone or gaze but none of that meant much to Damon.

“Tell me more about the warrior realm” Damon said calmly.

Right now all that matters is his strength, every other thing was no different from a distraction to him.

“Well, we are getting involved in a war that may last up to six months so I guess it’s best for you to know” Duke Hail said calmly as he poured some wine into Damon’s cup.

“Unfortunately, I can’t help you with that.... The Son of heaven has summoned you tomorrow. He will handle that for you personally” Duke Hail said and Damon spat his drink out due to shock.

Meanwhile, Alicia Hail said nothing and just passed a handkerchief to him. Why the hell would the son of heaven take interest in him all of a sudden?

Damon thought of that and frowned. If there are two people he hated meeting, it has to be the Archmage and the son of heaven. The two represented the system this kingdom runs on. A system Damon hates to the core.

“New students are dismissed if they fail to break into the warrior realm after two years. No matter your background a human realm individual has little or no importance in this world but it can’t be said for Warrior realm experts” Alicia Hail said coldly and Damon frowned.

“Even hundred men commanders are warrior realm experts. Reaching the warrior realm in just six months revealed your staggering talent. The son of heaven’s invitation shows that you are an important piece to the son of heaven... With him as your tutor, your future is boundless! You should be happy!” Duke Hail said but knowing Damon, he didn’t consider this a major victory for him.

Yes, the intervention of the son of heaven means he will get ridiculously stronger. In fact, it shows he has a bright future in the kingdom. Normally, anyone who finds himself in this situation should be ecstatic and happy but it was different for Damon.

Yea, his future in the kingdom is assured but he has never wanted to be a part of this kingdom. The original goal was to get strong enough to leave and not get tied down by the kingdom.

“You are not happy?” Tristan was the only one who noticed Damon’s mood and asked, catching the attention of everyone.

Who would have thought a day would come when someone is unwilling to be blessed by his majesty?

“I always wanted a safe and quiet life... Duke Hail ruined it by giving me the curse.... It’s only getting worse as time flies....” Damon said with a bitter smile and everyone laughed at his words, not knowing he meant every single thing he said.

It didn’t take long for everyone to get drunk on wine, heading back to their rooms was the first thing they could think of. Meanwhile, Damon only too a glass of wine which he even spilled some so he was perfectly fine.

Returning to his room, Damon locked the door behind him and sat in a cross-legged position on his bed while concentrating. The battle that was fought recently blessed him with at least a few hundred soldiers of both the human and warrior realm. He could be considered the owner of a powerful force right now.

Amongst all the souls he took control of Kyle could be considered the most important one.

It’s not every day you see a peak warrior realm expert. This vampire was in the same standing as Daniel Ross and the mysterious mage hiding in the Ross family.

“That reminds me. It has been a while since I last met them... I guess I owe them a visit before embarking on a six months war. If the son of heaven can’t give me that little then he is truly worse than scum!” Damon said coldly with squinted eyes.

Of course, he wasn’t going back because he misses them or anything. This is only an excuse to run far away and return to his peaceful life, even if it’s for a short time.
