Chapter 301 - 301 Chapter 300: Power of dragons

301 Chapter 300: Power of dragons

Swoosh!

The entire castle crumbled violently and within all of that chaos was a man standing on his feet and looking indifferently at the enemy. His body was covered in bright blue dragon scales and he was currently standing right in front of the enemy, leaving even Alex Briggs stunned.

“The dragon is the ultimate beast with the best offensive and defensive capabilities. True horrors of our world are capable of matching strength with the new and old gods. Why do you think I chose to use this power out of all the powers I have in my arsenal?” Damon said those words as if he was speaking obvious words to an idiot.

Before Alex could react to this he felt a hand grab him by the face and toss him aside like a rag doll, sending him flying for over a thousand meters in a single direction.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Aaah!

Cries could be heard as he smashed through buildings in which the people were hiding causing them to scream.

.....

Boom!

Alex finally stopped after smashing into the seventh building, landing on the ground of the room through the roof. His eyes shifted to the side and he saw a family curled up in one corner of the room with terrified looks on their faces. The man of the home stood with a kitchen knife in his hand and a face covered in sweat. He silently recited the prayers of the one church in hopes of divine intervention. That was the only way to survive the chaos going on now.

“Are you all stupid or Dumb? My forces took over the entire city and yet not even a single civilian was killed, do you think it’s a coincidence? You all are alive because I choose to let you live, be grateful” Alex said with a cold look.

When people referred to them as demon lords which they are now, it felt strange because even though they have what it takes to be demon Lords, they still have enough conscience which prevents them from taking mortal lives without reason.

Maybe it was because they were once mortals but honestly, Alex didn’t know how to respond to all of this.

He may have been a god for only a few days or a week at best but this week has been the longest week of his life and he seemed to be forgetting what it meant to be mortal.

He could still remember the Xinxiu healing Goddess he met when he first became a deity.

He saw good people losing themselves to time and falling into the sad fate destined for every deity and demon lord.

Bang!

From the roof a second figure shot in, landing in between Alex and the family with a calm look on his face.

“As far as I’m here, there is nothing to fear. Whoever I choose to protect, not even god can harm them” Damon said in a cold tone while his hair fluttered madly.

While he must have changed a lot, he still possessed the body of Cecile who was promoted to the level of guardian of the empire, which was the highest position outside the position of Emperor. He was practically worshiped now so there was no way they would not notice it.

“Those are cocky words for a brat who can barely protect himself from me,” Alex said with a frown but Damon revealed a cold sneer.

“Barely? Why don’t you try and find out how capable I am even in this form” Damon sneered coldly with his hand placed behind him and his robes fluttering.

With his hand placed behind him, he gestured for the family to leave while focusing his full attention on Alex. One moment of distraction would cost him his life and he didn’t know how long it would take him to find someone who would awaken him again so soon.

Bang!

Alex Briggs shot forward as he threw forward an open palm with immense light surging from his hands, revealing immense heat energy as it struck at the frowning death mage.

[Divinity tool: Sun Core!]

Swoosh!

Damon’s eyes chilled as he realized what was coming but chose not to move because of the family behind him. His eyes raged with blue light as immense wind and water exploded from his body to meet the attack!

Boom!

A powerful explosion erupted the entire building collapsed, revealing a lone figure standing hundreds of meters away while gazing at the outcome of this clash.

Alex watched it with a raised eyebrow as he saw a circular blue dragon scale dome and around it was surging wind and water. Within it, Damon stood with his hands cupped around his sleeves as he looked ahead. He looked deadly pale and weak not because he was losing but because his body was too weak to handle the power he was releasing.

While Cecile’s body benefited slowly from it and strengthened with time, it was still frustrating.

At this moment he realized the difference between the four and five-star ratings was like heaven and earth. It is not a distance that can be crossed easily. Should he reveal his full power, his rating may be somewhere around five or six but one things is sure, In one-on-one combat with this man, nothing holding him back or anything, he would wipe out the enemy without fear.

Damon was very confident in his strength that no one man can kill him alone. He is used to getting swarmed by countless enemies and unknown to him Alex was still the same. He simply failed to understand that at this moment, Alex was another human who fought his way through a tasking life created by the deities and pulled up to this level. Just like Damon, he too believed he was the main character of his story.

These two were practically the same but from different worlds and that explains why everything around the duo is chaotic when they are together.

There can never be two tigers on one mountain.
