Ye Qing Luo tapped her consciousness into the Phoenix Ring and finally understood why the old man was so confident that with it, coupled with her talent, she could charge up into the ranks of a grandmaster alchemist.
Worthy to hold the rank of supreme grade!
In the Phoenix Ring, everything was nearly organised.
There was an area for each practice!
Alchemy had it’s own Alchemy Area.
Weapons had its own Armament Area.
Accessories had an area of its own.
All in all, it had everything!
Moreover, everything in it was extraordinary!
Ye Qing Luo couldn’t help but sigh. Di Mo Xuan, how much wealth do you possess to be able to own so many precious items? And to even casually give it to her just simply like that?!
With all these precious materials, it was only a matter of time for her to release the seal. If she didn’t, despite the help of all these treasures, she really wouldn’t know where to hide her face.
After tossing about for a whole day, she started to feel the strain. After all, her soul had integrated with this body and it was still weak.
She avoided her injured arm, turned over and closed her eyes. When she turned over, her arm seemed to have felt something. What she had touched seemed out of ordinary. Her eyes flew open and her hands moved to the location and she froze momentarily when her hands felt a slight protrusion.
What was this?
She immediately got up and flipped the bedding away. Although this bed looked kind of shabby but it was actually made with quality wood. She studied the area intensely and soon saw that there was an inconspicuous raised portion near the head of the bed and she carefully pulled it up. Beneath it, a small compartment was revealed. Her eyebrows raised in interest as she looked in. It was dark and nothing could be seen properly. She reached her hands in to probe and felt a small box within. She retrieved it and found that in her hands, lay a red jewellery box.
She gasped. “What is this thing?”
Why was there such a thing hidden away in this abandoned place?
Was it… something that her mother had left behind?
Ye Qing Luo wiped away the dust with her sleeves and her gaze was fixed onto the small lock at her fingertips. She fiddled about with it in interest as a smile slowly raised at the corner of her lips.
Such a small thing, how could it stop her?
Ye Qing Luo turned to get out of bed as she carefully avoided her injured arm and went to the dresser at the side.
She searched around for a bit and finally found it!
She quickly picked up a long thin needle. Afterall, to pick a lock of such a size, this was the best choice!
She casually put the needle in and the lock popped open almost immediately after.
In it, there were two envelopes.
On the envelope, there were a string of words written beautifully: “For my child”
They were handwritten letters from her mother! This hidden compartment was really something her mother had left behind! But why did she need to hide two letters here? Ye Qing Luo’s mind was full of questions. She took the two letters out and was just about to open them when her fingers suddenly froze in place. Her ears twitched slightly and had picked up the faint sounds of approaching footsteps. Ye Qing Luo immediately put the two letters back into the box and tossed it into the Phoenix ring. Before she could even lie back down in bed, the bedroom door was kicked open.
“Not dead yet?” A youth dressed in green stood there. On his waist hung a green jade ornament and the fabric of his robe wasn’t luxurious but it wasn’t too bad either.
He was handsome and had the scholarly look of a gentleman with an air of elegance but there was also a huge scowl on his face when he looked at her.
When she saw who it was, the alertness was eased.
Instead, she berated him in a serious tone: “Ye Feng Yu! What have you been studying all these years? Was it all for naught? How did your Master teach you? Is this the way you should speak to your own sister?”
